Canales is telling us, but we aren’t listening
Gapanthersfan replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you were handling business then players would not feel compelled to do so, Dave… but you’re just not good at this being a leader of men thing. With every game that you play Bryce, you’re taking money out of 52 other players’ bank accounts. They’re either trying to make incentives on their current deal or trying to ball out so they can cash in on contract #2 which hopefully sets them up for life. I don’t think he even sees it that way. BY holds the entire team back. Purposely not putting the team in the best place to win is a gigantic F you to the entire team (coaches included). Starting Bryce at this point is an atomic bomb on morale. -
An interception on a deep vertical route = punt

I see Morgan as managing the problem as best he can by doing what he can everywhere but that QB room. I don’t know what any person in that job could really do to eliminate the Bryce element unilaterally, without the owner becoming irate. If I have the owner’s position figured correctly, that is. If he can somehow maneuver his way through this poo maybe he gets to tackle the QB room after this year.

Easy answer - our head coach is incompetent and has no business being an NFL coach

I agree somewhat, but there aren't any solid options, at least in my mind, so... -
They do practice but you have to remember that actual NFL games are kinda scary so you're being insensitive

Well look let's keep it real. The Tepper's let Matt Rhule basically do whatever the hell he wanted including micromanaging this franchise down to the smallest of details. Unfortunately the likely answer is there are multiple truths at play here. The Tepper's are high key meddlers that have and still do involve themselves in day to day operations to the detriment of the franchise. And Dan Morgan the rest of the FO and Dave Canales are willing participants who are also unfortunately part of the problem. We can't keep absolving people for their roles and expect to magically turnaround a near decade long winning season drought. We as fans do not owe anyone anything for being a sycophant. Because at the end of the day any jackass can be one.

He hires Yes Men so there is only one answer with different levels of possibilities within that reality. I still think the benching last year is looked at in a different light here than it really was. It's the Bryce show, that's why these people were hired and the benching was part of the process to salvage Tepper's biggest mistake to date. Everything now reeks of them scrambling that it's not working...which they were probably giving high fives after the success of the GB game. I would guess Tepper doesn’t understand how fugged it all really is and that the record is not due to the savior Bryce but instead of him. I think the consensus on the Huddle doesn't match the reality of last year.

Canales is telling us, but we aren’t listening

I am reading that stuff about 30 deep completions or whatever it was and thinking to myself, “what? Where was I when this happened?” 10 games. That is 3 a game, do I need to look at each passing chart to count them? I guess so. -
He's made it clear he walks through the building making his opinion well known, which is to say, do what I say or your job may very well be on the line. I think he exerts his influence where and when he wants. Bryce was his draft choice and he is not going to admit he's wrong until there is no other option. Basically, when the entire town is in ashes he will start screaming fire.

it seems like it to me. It makes sense to me, anyway. Tepper’s overriding interest was making Bryce work. At least for me, I can explain things that I have seen easier if I accept that as a premise. We don’t have actual hard evidence of anything so it is a ‘what if’ free for all with people left to decide what they think happened. Also, I don’t know about GM interviews but I can easily imagine some coaching candidates not wanting to be tied to Bryce.

Do they practice down field throws at practice?
SmokinwithWilly replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
Because it's the only thing that makes any sense at all. Any GM, even a terrible one could see Dalton was washed last year, so he's signed to a 2 year deal this offseason. Plummer wasn't practice squad worthy week 1 last year, then we bring him back this year. No trade action at all near the deadline. For some reason Bryce is being protected beyond all logic. The only thing that makes any sense at all is there is a directive coming from the top and the very top is David Tepper. -
Do they practice down field throws at practice?
Swaggasaurus replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
Maybe they could throw jump balls between Legette and McMillian and let them fight over it. Just rep that the whole practice. Coach them hard, XL is going to have to choose to be a dog or continue as a literal dog and pony show. Bryce is a lost cause. Fix the next biggest issue. These WR learn to play to their size or they don’t become part of the solution. -
