  1. Past hour
  2. I do know. They also aren't desperate.
  3. I don't know that better options were available at the time. We couldn't poach Big Ten or SEC programs. The Big 12 was not weak enough yet to potentially make a poach there reasonable. Not to mention the big fish(Texass, Texass A&M and Oklahoma) wouldn't likely have come unless we basically handed them over the keys to the entire conference budget. I agree that those moves hurt but I don't think there were better options and sitting still was a worse solution. The financial rewards they all reaped were substantial. They only cry and moan about it now because they say "Oh the Big Ten and SEC are more!" Well, those are also the primary drivers of this insanely rapid inflation that is absolutely unsustainable.
  4. Well I mean they are desperate, fire selling, etc and I mean waddle isn’t a Mica Parsons or Christian McCaffery! You never know
  5. I didn't give any amounts, so not really over estimating. He would be an additional investment. Not saying we should or shouldn't do it.
  6. On what planet would they ever consider this?
  7. I think you overestimate the contract Rico would command. If OTC is correct, trading Hubbard would be about $6 mil in dead cap. Not a large chunk.
  8. Right move with the wrong programs. The ACC bet on the wrong horses. The programs they added to bolster football (Miami and VT) were at the tail end of their runs. Their fans will blame the conference change for their downfall conveniently ignoring the dominant run Clemson had in the same conference at the same time.
  9. The money making opportunities will fade. That era is upon us. I have said a collapse is inevitable and I really do believe it. For college atheltics, a drastic collapse will be the healthiest outcome for the sport in the long term.
  10. Mike Shula has destroyed Sellers. Sound familiar?
  11. Tucker Kraft with 7 TDS today. Panthers win a close one off the back of Rico’s 300 yards. Panthers 52 packs 49
  12. Not too certain of predicting a score but pretty certain of the outcome
  13. I’m finishing the red eye back from Baltimore after spending the weekend seeing Billy strings. I am so goddamn hung over I’m cancelling meetings I had scheduled for Monday. If Carolina could just get blown out as quickly and painlessly as possible so I can be asleep by 230 I’d appreciate it
  14. Double team/chip Parson's. Run Rico down their throat. We have a chance.
  15. Except that we have already invested in Chuba. Rico would be additional investment. Its not an either or situation. If we trade Hubbard, we would likely have a lot of dead money/cap space used up. At least for next year anyway.
  16. Zavala was really bad his first year but I think he can still flash that unfortunately. Coaching? IDK. Inconvenience seems to be common. Moton should just have played the year out to see what's what or they should have replaced him, whixh is a tall order for a team with so much else needing done. I just thought the reworked deal was dumb. Get cap but create another issue later. Just eat it and move on. I do think they were trying to create space for someone else but that's also a huge negative for me because the 'one player away mentality' has always been a failure that I can remember. Corbett was a known health issue, a waste of roster space really. BC has had a fractured ankle and a torn bicep so he isn't a huge shocker either, unlucky or injury prone at this point? Add in Moton and that unit was always suspect. Having both high priced OGs dealing with injuries 1 year removed from their big deals just seems like the chefs kiss to that entire build. So 2 known injury issues with starters, a backup that's probably injury prone now, Mays and then nobodies. I don't think I can call that decent depth, especially considering the 2 known starter issues coming into the year.
  17. Today
  18. Just imagine how great it will be when they eventually expand the playoff to 24 teams, or more. There will still only be 3 or 4 teams that have a real chance of winning the national championship, but the money-making opportunity will be too irresistible.
  19. Trading Hubbard should be a decision made based on the "future" of the team. If they deem Rico a wiser investment, long term, Hubbard is expendable. If they deem Hubbard the wiser investment, long term, Rico is expendable. That doesn't mean they should have a price that is less than acceptable, however.
  20. Technically this was the correct move for survival. College football greed did ultimately ruin all of college athletics in the end. But, it was harder to predict that it would be this bad in the 1990's and 2000's. The Big Ten is now attempting to put the final nail in college sports with this private equity "investment."
  21. There is no way we should trade Hubbard without have a deal in place with Rico. Last thing we need to do is get rid of a good running back for draft pick(s) without having our #1 RB in place for several years.
  22. I slept on it, I thought about it and with Bryce back, I think it changes everything. Packers 47, Panthers 17
