Yep, Pavia is basically the SEC's Haynes King. Damn good college QBs but not sure either will ever make an NFL roster.
-
Tenn. vs. Vandy is a fun game so far. I do think these are two great COLLEGE QB's that aren't going to translate to the NFL.
-
Yeah, I think T-Mac is gonna be fine. I think KB would've been for awhile too had it not been for that double whammy if tearing his ACL and losing his mom at basically the same time. That's a lit to deal with, especially when you're already not exactly the most diligent worker in the locker room.
-
The list of 1st and 2nd round bust WR's is far, far longer than our elite WR's. I hope we finally break that streak with TMac. The bones are there....but they were with Benjamin too. Fingers crossed.
-
It's crazy that Brandon LaFell is still our 6th leading all-time WR. Once you get past #3 on that list (DJ Moore) it really is just a pathetically sad thing to look at.
-
I respect the guy for staying put in this portal era but an NFL future isn't guaranteed for anyone and everyone on the field is a major injury away from having their football future ended. Hell, Marcus Lattimore at SCar is a perfect example of that. He looked like he might be the next Adrian Peteraon before he got his knee absolutely shredded. The moral of the story is that if someone is waving millions at you, cash that check.
-
If he was a really finished product, I would understand not wanting to go elsewhere. I respect the hell out of the loyalty but if you want to be as prepared as possible for the NFL and especially have designs on the 2027 NFL Draft, I would find a better development spot in free agency this offseason.

And even Ginn arguably had his best season with Cam. Even his per game averages are the highest in Carolina for his entire career. We rarely had WR's play better without Cam. LaFell was the only one I can think of but a lot of that was him have a bigger offensive role in NE and Cincy.
-
Heck, Sellars was turning down reportedly 8 million dollar checks last season. He better go take a good one this year at a better school
-
We are a team picking very high for years and still don't have much top teir tallent while playing other bad teams given how they make the schedule. It's very mediocre but like I said it's NFL mediocre. Parady does the hardest lifting if it's not a dumpsterfire. His playcalling is mediocre. His adjustments usually are nonexistent. Even his culture is soft. He is NFL functional he is just mediocre. I have seen zip to warrant a 1 spot out of 32 as an NFL HC. He was also literally outcoached by a first year HC in his first HC game. Sorry but I just don't see a lot of positives past mediocre overall and that's honestly being kind IMO.

All those receivers that Cam was "holding back" accomplished a whole lot of jack poo without him too. KB blamed Cam for his failures and there were people who legit thought Funchess was gonna blossom with a "real QB". The only guy who played decently without him was Ginn with HOFer Brees throwing to him.
-
I am not sure I agree on the team culture yet. He also did have a lot of young guys chirping to the media about lack of effort in practices before a bad loss. I would say that is on shaky ground. A lot will be determined over the course of the rest of this season since we are likely to start taking a lot more L's. If he can keep the wheels from coming completely off, I might buy into the culture having improved.
-
Yeah, the greatest of Cam really has been some of the players and coaches he was able to elevate around him. Massively under appreciated component of Cam's legacy.
-
That SCar thought that Mike Shula was the answer kinda says everything that needs to be said. That he took a Heisman hopeful and presumed top 10 draft pick and made him look like a guy that might not be draftable really shows how damn good Cam Newton was. Both Chud and Shula washed out immediately as soon as they could no longer lean on Cam to carry their offenses.

I think Sellers would be best served by transferring to a school that will better prepare him for the NFL.
-
Not even debatable IMO. Tons of talent but I'm honestly not sure either are NFL QBs. Both might should just cash as many NIL checks as they can.
-
Who are the top QB prospects for the 2015 draft?
kungfoodude replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
Go back to school: Sellers and Manning Flopped on their returns to college and hurt their draft stock: Carson Beck Garrett Nussmeier Drew Allar Cade Klubnick Sawyer Robertson Eli Holstein Any other flops in this underwhelming QB class I am missing? -
The rams entire franchise comes down with food poisoning, even then it’s a toss up

Nobody really cares to be honest. I'm fine with them making the playoffs. Let them in and let them get skull drug by a legit playoff team and there, all is well. There's always gonna be a team or two squawking about how they should've been in no matter what. You still get it in the basketball tourney of 64. The teams on the bubble don't really have a chance anyway do whatever. I think the 12 team field is about perfect IMO. All of the legit contenders are sure to get in. No, Texas is not a legit contender.
-
In other college football news: Lanoris Sellers and Arch Manning........GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND KEEP PREPARING. Not ready for prime time yet.
-
Hence why I say do a middle of the road change, if there is any.
-
My main issue is the change if possession. If you want to give it back to the offense at the 20 I still think that sucks but it's a helluva lit better than a turnover.
-
Oh hey, the Canes had a prime let down opportunity after a very good season with everyone talking about the inevitable injustice that's going to happen when they get left out of the Playoffs and what do you know, they only bloody went on the road and annihilated Pitt.
