  1. Past hour
  2. He's not a starter but he's completely fine as a backup still. Top 50 QB in the league EASILY.
  3. I mean, even their own propoganda videos showed how much he was involved for years. Not to mention the umpteen articles mentioning it from "sources." The narrative, which is likely somewhat true at the bare minimum, didn't pop up out of thin air. Snyder had that rep. Turns out.....100% accurate.
  4. He's a great guy. In his prime he was a respectable starter. But now at this stage of his career he is an awful QB. This lip service is ridiculous.
  5. Anyone who watched the blueprint knows we think highly of Nic. Just get the deal done and get him out there for camp.
  6. was reading Darin Gantt this week and he noted these stats "Andy Dalton is 26th on the all-time passing yards list (39,500), ahead of Hall of Famers Jim Kelly, Steve Young, YA Tittle, Troy Aikman, and many more. He's also 26th on the all-time touchdown pass list (253), and the next one he throws ties him with Dan Freaking Fouts (254). He grew up in Texas idolizing Aikman, and has about 90 more touchdowns than the former Cowboys Hall of Famer (165)." https://www.panthers.com/news/ask-the-old-guy-ready-to-get-to-training-camp-tetairoa-mcmillan-bryce-young-fantasy-football-ai-hot-dogs pretty nice having him for a back up. Hope he wants to play another year or two
  7. It's too early to tell. If he's stepped back that's a good thing obviously. But to say it was greatly overblown is rather ridiculous. This is the same man who held a press conference after firing Reich where he did virtually all the talking. Seems he's at least learned from all that though. We can only hope it will last.
  8. I feel that the whole Tepper is to involved in running the team thing was greatly overblown. IMO, Tepper's biggest mistake was hiring bad coaches and bad GM's to run things. So far at least, results under Morgan and Canales appear to be better, but we will see.
  9. Today
  10. 100% vs 90% isn't a massive difference or disadvantage. 2 million won't make or break a team
  11. All I know is that the game is a lot more interesting when running backs arent an afterthought.
  12. So just like all the things you constantly attempt to "read between the lines" with and post said opinions pretending they are stone cold facts?
  13. Its not hard to figure out teams overcompensate to try and stop whatever the current fad is and right now everyone GOT SMALLER AND FASTER on defense, the pendulum is simply swinging back to what that defenses weakness is.
  14. Who here remembers this one? Two and a half years ago following what was one of the ugliest displays of QB play any Panthers or Saints fan had witnessed in many years. Not one person here would have been wanting to sign Andy Dalton to a contract. But once he signed with the Panthers and became Bryce Young's backup suddenly the narrative changed. Now somehow Panthers fans regard him as a top backup. Comical.
  15. I get what you're saying but I'm a proponent of drafting the best players and then getting them into camp and figuring out where they fit. Passing a better player for a better "fit" just isn't a good idea. That's how you end up drafting Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan because you already had Clyde Drexler on the roster.
  16. I am guessing that he signs for 4 years, $8.4m with $6m guaranteed. I do not see Morgan giving in easily, and these players are losing leverage. I am a Scourton fan and I see him as a real sleeper pick who will be a better pro than college player. They may need to address the rookie salary scale to include caps on guaranteed money--
  17. It looks like the team agrees with you to some extent: TMac and Jimmy Horn Jr both provide a dynamic X as well as a slot, which allows XL to be the Z which might be a better fit for him. Ja'Tavion Sanders was drafted for his receiving chops as a TE. Jonathon Brooks was one of the better pass catching RBs in his draft class. I don't think Ladd makes any sense because the team had several slot WRs already and he's never going to be a perimeter guy which was what the team had lacked Bryce's rookie year. Adam Thielen was already signed as well. Ladd does make much more sense than throwing away Andy Dalton in the name of "competition" though, I'll give you that.
  18. ECU baseball is like a farm team for the transfer portal but good players go through there too. Coastal is definitely better though. ECU football was good when I was a kid. Relatively speaking. It’s been a wasteland for a while.
  19. Sunbelt. Along with App State. Also, ECU is about an 1.5 hours away from Wilmington. Football is down but dang their tailgates are amazing
  20. Oh I remember icky from way back on the scout boards before the huddle guy was always like that.
  21. Ummm no definitely not pre benching... maybe go read my posts instead of mouth breathing. I was... not a fan last year to say the least.
  22. Heading into year 3 I think that the mentorship angle is overstated. At this point the simple reality is Andy Dalton is terrible. The Panthers org dragged out a sprained thumb to the point you'd think they were on the verge of amputation. That is how badly they never wanted to see him back on the field. A little competition in the QB room goes a long way and makes everyone better. For the team with the worst win percentage in all of sports the last few years you'd think it'd be something we'd want to prioritize. Instead we chose comfort. You know what else is known for comfort? Charmin bath tissue. We'll see how these decisions work out over the coming months. Hopefully our starting QB slams the door on these conversations. But nothing is a given.
