  1. Past hour
  2. Agree. Dalton also still has a cannon of an arm. So the offense is still functional and all plays are available.
  3. Mingo was traded and Marshall played 3 of 4 years on the contract so it would only have made a difference of about 800,000 between them. All from Marshall
  4. Draft better. That's the solution. The rookie wage scale was a culmination of years of teams sucking at drafting and GMs getting their asses kicked at the bargaining table by players' agents. Now it's happening again albeit at a smaller scale because it's within the framework of the rookie wage scale. There's less room for negotiation but the agents are still carving out wins and setting precedents. It is what it is. Draft better. These 2nd rounder contracts are still a bargain if you draft well and they aren't cap killers even if you draft a bust. It only matters if you Hurney it up and draft 2nd round bust after just after bust.
  5. This. People say it doesn’t matter, but it does. If Mingo’s contract was fully guaranteed, the trade compensation may have been completely different. Imagine getting a 6th round pick instead of a 4th. Does that make a difference? Imagine nobody wants to trade for him at all and we have to cut him outright. It matters.
  6. Today
  7. Bully? LOLOLOL Nice victim turn. Of all the issues facing the Panthers in the Tepper era getting hung up on an aging WR making mid-tier money who has performed as expected while being forced into a role he's no longer cut out for is weird. No one is trying to argue that Thielen is an elite caliber WR at this point in his career and I think virtually everyone accepts that the whole situation was a result of poor roster building and over-reliance on young, unproven talent. But to pin that all on Adam Thielen? I mean, yeah it's flat out bizarre.
  8. We are dangerous or popular enough for people to care about us. You would have to instigate on Reddit or something and drag them here at this point me thinks.
  9. What's truly bizarre is folks trying to bully others for actually attempting to apply standards to a franchise with no back to back winning seasons no playoffs in going on 8 years and the worst win percentage in professional sports the last several years. You keep on fighting the good fight
  10. Brother let's hope he doesn't even have half that many yards. The last thing we need to do is be trying to force him the ball to justify what we paid him. This season should be about the young players emerging. P.S. thanks for the poo spam. Clearly you like older veterans. Which is ironic considering all the talk in the past about Ron Rivera and his vets.
  11. App is in the same boat unfortunately. However, app and ECU will always find a way to beat one of the three in the triangle!
  12. Were you around in the mid 2000's? We used to have regular other team posters here who would give people a ribbing some lighthearted and some out and out shitposters. There was an entire subforum dedicated to it at one point it got so contentious. It was called Smack Central. I'm guessing you would have been one of the folks calling for them to be banned lol.
  13. Imagine if Mingo and Marshall had guaranteed contracts
  14. Is Frank JT O’Sullivan? He's got the most forced and manufactured disdain of Thielen.
  15. ECU football is in the All-American Conference (AAC). About 45 minutes from me. I go every other year when Navy comes to Greenville and kicks their ass. But, yes, I have several friends who are huge ECU boosters and have tailgate spots right outside the gate and, it is an event. ECU football is going to die a slow, painful death thanks to the transfer portal and NIL, and trying to recruit and compete with UNC, Duke, and NC State.
  16. I honestly hope not. I hope T-Mac is a big time impact rookies and that Legette makes a big jump from his rookie to his second year. Wouldn't mind for Coker to eat into his snaps and targets too. The best case scenario for the Panthers as a team will be for Thielen to play well in spots but largely give way to the youngsters.
  17. It shouldn't affect much of anything. For the 50th pick, 1 ahead of Scourton, the total contract difference in guaranteed money is $1.6 million more than the 50th last year. 400k per season out of 280 million for the 2025 cap.
  18. Missed the final 8min but seeing the team up by 32 at one point helped me cope. My favorite comments on the Hornets subreddit following the win last night:
  19. Now we know the reason for the holdout. Be aware that you’ve set the precedent for all contracts going forward.
  20. I'm veeery interested to see how this affects team's draft strategy going forward. Guaranteeing a majority of that second rounder's contract is going to make it even more important for teams to not whiff. Marty Hurney is thanking his stars that he isn't a GM anymore.
