  1. Past hour
  2. Rico will be gone after the next five games. This team jettisons the best players and keeps the JAG's. Rinse and repeat.
  3. It kind of depends on the situation. Ben Johnson fell into a great spot with a good young first round qb, a stud vet wr (moore) a stud young wr ( odunze) a solid young te ( kmet) and a solid d and a haul of picks Canales got an empty cupboard with debt and a huge bust at the most important position. But by year 3 we should have a foundation built, a present were happy with and a future to look forward to.
  4. With a serviceable QB, a good or great coach can turn it around within two or three years. With a historically horrible QB? That's like trying to sprint uphill with a F-150 chained to your waist. This is why I reserve my judgement on Canales. He might be a good or great coach, or he may be a bad coach, but we just can't know with Bryce at QB, which is also why I think Reich deserves a reassessment on his brief stint here, but that's water under the bridge. Going forward, it'd be insanely stupid to allow Bryce to kill yet another coach so soon after Reich. Then again, this organization under Tepper has proven anything but sane and competent. Case in point, they traded the farm to draft a midget with a noodle arm to be the QB.
  5. Who should have taken his job and gave Bryce a designated seat on the bench.
  6. Canales maybe to soft. If Mr. Rodgers was a football coach, then we got him. Have the feeling he doesn't like confrontation and avoids it if at all possible. That's just to fuggin' bad because when your dealing with highly paid athletes with egos, it's gonna happen. Lay down the law and do what needs to be done.
  7. Lots of players to dislike for a lot of reasons but no one player has ruined watching Carolina football like Bryce for me. Since before game 1 he has sucked the life out of the games. And it's not just him, it's everything around him too. That trade, the need to constantly coddle him, a lame playbook he can run...it just keeps going. He is basically the Rhule of QBs for me at this point in effect.
  8. AR already got benched. Permanently. We have been more than patient enough.
  9. He has a long way to go to get to the level of Romanowski, Burfict, Suh, Incognito, Collins, Caruth, Hernandez. He isnt an NFL QB but I dont think he is a bad person
  10. I don't know if I would say the media is against Young. They know that a good story with a redemption arc and a positive outcome equals dollars. What I think has changed is perhaps there is no longer that feeling that another bad organization has ruined another young player by being a bad organization. Additionally, there was a tiny little bit of perceived unfairness in his benching. "They didn't even really give him a chance, and what do you know, they benched him for an old white player too." To that end, the Panthers have gone above and beyond giving Young the opportunity for success.
  11. As long as the Teppers want him to be QB1, he will be QB1. Don't be fooled by the owners disappearing act. He still has his thumb on the scale.
  12. With so many examples of coaches coming in and changing the culture very quickly, I wonder what most of you think. I’m not sure we can confidently say Canalas has that ability, yet for the most part the majority of fans believe we will see a year 3 from Canalas. How long do you feel like coaches should get to prove that they have the ability to turn a team around? Look at this clip and tell me you don’t see a difference in cultures. Yes I know we are improving on wins, but do you feel like it is real changes that will lead to long term success, or fools gold for a middle of the road result coach? https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTrh7UpPw/
  13. Today
  14. I didn’t get to watch the games yesterday, was busy with the Christmas decor and all but I am not shocked Texas A&M lost.
  15. You can't blame Tepper for not getting Ben Johnson. He wanted him but Johnson chose to not take a HC job that cycle. Tepper is to blame for a lot, but that's not on him.
  16. I see your point, but if it is nothing but a marketing ploy, then it is not an Alpha. It is a natural ability to lead and the desire to have the opportunity to make the plays when needed. That ain't marketing. That is instinctive. The lead wolf does not bullshit the pack--he earns it because it is in his blood.
  17. Speaking of---I wanted David Shaw, who is now the "passing game coordinator" in Detroit. I met him in Palo Alto when CMC was there--a class act.
  18. After further review, it’s been determined, that, we have a good goal on the ice! Plus, this game isn’t serious! Haha @panthers81 3 @cookinbrak2 @DavidEng1 @organicrusty12011 @Panthers Fan 691 @PNW_PantherMan1
  19. Sheeesh, he's a disappointment, but there are soooo many worse football players, judged by on or off field attributes.
  20. i just am not sure how much longer they can keep him as qb1 its pathetic to watch.
  21. Nothing Cowherd said is not correct my point in sharing the video is as not to be a fan boy for Cowherd. It was to demonstrate how the media has come full circle with this guy, It was short and sweet there are plenty of longer videos from veterans in coaching and personnel who say the same things. I’ll take it a step further, if you really listen to Young's press conferences, he tells you who is and it isn’t good. Quote ‘it depends on how focused I am’ the best thing for Young is to be moved…the franchise too.
  22. Something has to change, we're missing out on free agents because of the Tepper fear. We're in some kind of Tepper induced purgatory.
  23. Key is, he said “football player” not human being. But the fact you mentioned Phillips and Carruth as potential candidates they were more unlikable says all we need to know about just how BAD Bryce is at football.
  24. All people (that get millions) had to do was watch that LSU game against Bryce in 2022. What they did in that game was the closest thing Bryce was going to see every Sunday, and he struggled mightily. It's kind of ironic, that game was the most Bryce game ever. He threw a redzone int early, it took him 51 passes to even crack 300 yds, he held onto the ball too long, he couldn't see down the middle because LSU was busting up the middle, he short armed a bunch of throws, etc. You would think our scouts and FO that get paid millions would have easily saw this red flag, yet they chose to ignore it and based their decision of his backyard football highlight tape lol Meanwhile CJ Stroud faced a defense that was going to be similar to what he was going to see every Sunday and passed with flying colors.
  25. My dislike of Bryce comes not from him but from the Truthers who continue to think he can become something he never will. 3 years in and he still needs MORE time? Nah, by year three you should not still have questions whether you will be the long term starter.
  26. Exactly. This has decimated the fanbase as well. There’s wayyyy less excitement even for a year where we have “improved”
  27. It's about his playing style. I pointed all this put leading up to the draft. He'd usually take the snap from shotgun at Bama and immediately drop back another 5+ yards after that and then just kinda freewheel standing square to the LOS surveying the field. That can't world at the NFL for several reasons. 1) you can't create a picket that deep at the NFL level. NFL edge rushers are too good. 2) Standing square to the LOS like Bryce did now once you see where you want to throw, you have to flip your hips to get in position to deliver the throw. That means both your receiver needs to be wide open and you need ample protection. Not happening in the NFL. 3) On all of his deep throws he needed to be able to step up and through the throw to generate power. That rarely happens in the NFL. It happened recently against Atlanta and he played great but that type if time and room to operate just rarely happens on Sundays. Bryce was IMO always a prototypical great college player who just doesn't translate to the NFL from a talent and stylistic perspective. I don't know how he fooled football people into thinking otherwise.
