  1. Past hour
  2. If the argument is Zavala vs. Curhen, the battle is already lost.
  3. She's not sitting on an island alone with this opinion either.
  4. Hunt is fairly overrated by our fans. Damn good player but we will be fine with Corbett back at OG. Better than losing Hunt for a large chunk of the offseason.
  5. Ring chasing is a real thing, even in the NFL.
  6. I'll take solid with a couple of bad plays over Zavala being awful on just about every pass blocking opportunity. Curhen was on the Cardinal's practice squad for a reason - he isn't very talented. That being said, I think he has done a solid job in the games he has played.
  7. Im not disagreeing with your logic and it would be mine as well. We've just seen a lot of stupid things play out when it comes to Bryce and the way he's been handled. I have no idea what big daddy Dave will mandate though. He's not exactly been the best at leaving football decisions to football people.
  8. It's just a convenient narrative meant to make fun of the team. Want to see a bad fanbase, go to a Falcons game. They built that new stadium for the Atlanta United, not the shitty Falcons.
  9. Some people want a different kind of quarterback, a few of them because they can't let go of Cam Newton. They may (or in a few cases, may not) acknowledge Cam isn't coming back, but even in that scenario they still want somebody like him. (or at the very least, someone bigger and stronger than Bryce) I want better than Bryce too, but when it comes down to it, winning will always be the most important thing. It happening with a player I'm conflicted about does not diminish my enjoyment to even the most miniscule degree.
  10. The above scenario would be a nightmare for Carolina. It's tough having to make decisions on who to keep and who to let go. You have to look at which position can I spend less on and still get similar production. In our case I think it would be the quarterback position. For most teams with a legitimate franchise QB, that decision would/should be easy. It's hard to replace a guy like Mahomes, Allen, or Stafford in terms of production. Those guys can make any throw and can carry a team on their backs to compensate for the weaker areas of the roster. However, a starting QB who does not produce at an ELITE level and needs the team to carry them is easier to replace than solid LT. I'm not giving Young a 45+ million deal prior to his 4th year at the expense of a solid left tackle when the said QB isn't even a top 10 QB in his own CONFERENCE.
  11. Probably deserves its own thread but remember that unsportmanlike penalty we got? The one responsible... was Dave Canales. Thankfully didn't matter but still...
  12. He's the scariest player we've ever had. He's absolutely dogshit, but once or twice a season he bumbles into a decent start and you're left terrified that the owner is going to press the GM into activating his 5th year option. It's no way to live.
  13. Every time he has a good game, he gets nominated. Which is twice this year haha
  14. I have no doubt whatsoever that they're going to seek a capable backup. I see no guarantee that player will compete for a starting role. It is possible, but it's not a certainty.
  15. Honestly at this point he would be looking at back up $ in my book
  16. There is no amount of mental gymnastics that will ever justify making the statement "we won in spite of him". I could cite a number of games where Cam Newton, Jake Delhomme, Brett Favre, John Elway and plenty of others looked like horsesh-t for a significant portion of the game, but somehow still did enough to win. That's football. The facts are: Bryce Young is an NFL quarterback. Bryce Young is legitimately capable of winning NFL games. Bryce Young deserves credit for his part in all of our wins under his leadership. ... All of these statements are validated by the simple truth of what we've seen with our own eyes. Is there still a valid argument to be made that Bryce should not be made our "franchise" quarterback. Yes there is, and I would remind everyone in this thread that I'm one of the people trying to make it. But... Those facts cited above cannot be discounted or disproved. They must be acknowledged, and any argument which doesn't loses touch with reality. And as a consequence of their validity, my attempts to articulate this argument become... ...significantly more difficult. I'll still make the argument, but that effort will not include any denial of the truth.
  17. 100% and I don't think anyone could argue that there has been a bigger supporter/fan of his than myself, so I'm not trying to talk down what he's done this year. But it's why I also have personally not brought up where he ranks in receiving yardage the last 2-4 weeks like a lot of people (and the team) has been doing. As while I know it's "true" and a cool thing to talk about, I always knew this bye was coming and his slim lead over the guys behind him will cause him to "tumble" down those rankings coming out of our bye. Even finishing 15th in the league in receiving yards as a rookie would be a MASSIVE accomplishment, particularly when his QB only has 3 games all year passing over 200 yards.
  18. Wow. This Vandy season might not be a fluke.
  19. Go look at contract structure and come back to me, total dollars is irrelevant bad teams pay more up front and in guaranteed $$$ as well as having to hand out longer contracts. I'd say if you look at total $$ potential you are correct but if you look at the breakdowns there is definitely a small tax, add into this that bad teams tend to have the most cap space.
  20. It's simple. Play the hot hand. Rico was hot. Play him. This week Chuba had it. Play him. You can tell pretty quick in a game who's feeling it and who isn't. I don't understand why everyone is trying to make this so damn complex.
