  1. Past hour
  2. Oh I agree with having a real one, I'm just always hesitant to declare a rookie at the level of future HoFers, especially given the circumstances on all three of those teams. Still TMac is fuging great. Every game too it feels like we have missed opportunities to him that if the passing game gets cleaned up... He can be even more productive
  3. I think this thread got attention on Jstews podcast. They were commenting about fans online discussing coach and QB contracts during an exciting game.
  4. Those three touchdown passes were pretty decent, though. Even the most cynical has to agree to that.
  5. We have the 25th ranked pass attack. 185 per game average. yeah, those teams suck too. But even the Jags and Saints average more per game putting up over 200 per game. Not saying they aren't bad. But saying we aren't a bottom pass attack is again.....just denial of reality and facts.
  6. I think Icky was shown steady improvement and really should be entering the prime years of his career that position. He's a first round draft choice that panned out and I think he needs to be resigned. That said, your above formula is correct, but concerning. Icky is Good player and could potentially become great. But, should a 4 year starter at LT that has never been selected for an 1st or 2nd All-Pro team or been selected to a Pro Bowl become receive a new record setting contract and become the highest paid LT in football? We may have to do as you suggested in your post. If he does get that deal, then the financial situation at QB becomes even more concerning. If Young and his agent insist on a contract in line the "QB Market" and you want to retain him you either have to hope he takes a hometown discount (i.e. below market value contract) or have a guy in the wings to replace him when he decides to hit the open market. We still have crucial holes to fill at EDGE, LB, S. It's fun to pretend to be a GM, but in real life we can only imagine how stressful that job really is.
  7. We won @ New Orleans that year. Me and my buddy drove down there the day after Christmas. Great game. Classic Jake to Smitty prayer shot leading to a John Kasay game winner.
  8. i turn 32 next week so i've basically grown up with the team. one of my earliest memories from my childhood is going to a game after thanksgiving in cold and overcast weather and beating the kurt warner and marshall faulk rams. eerie that it was almost 25 years later to the day, and we beat a super bowl contending rams team on a cold overcast day and strangely enough both games had a panthers pick 6 that ended up being the difference. the game in 2000 put us to 6-7 while sunday's game moved us to 7-6. looking back there's a lot of similarities with the night and day kind of team. that 2000 team swept the defending super bowl champs rams but were swept by the 4-12 falcons. had a dominant MNF win over Favre and the Packers but had a dogfight shootout against the 1-15 chargers. hopefully this year ends better than that team's
  9. If we have the same record, we would have to because Tampa would have the better division record at 5-1. I just don't see Tampa losing to the Saints or Falcons at home.
  10. He should win it. Emeka is a great player, but if TMac was playing in Tampa Bay his numbers would be even better.
  11. If I told you, you can pick from 2 QBs who are largely the same.....but one is going to fumble 10 times this season and the other 2....who is the bigger liability for their team? It's the fumbler. Recoveries are just lady luck and the ball bouncing. Fumbling the ball is a bad thing. It's like a QB who consistently throws really bad balls into the hands of defenders....but they drop them. Law of averages will get them in the end. this is why the Bryce defending gets nuts. He fumbles too much. Just a fact. A reality of having someone built like a middle school kid out there with walking monsters
  12. We’re not bottom in the league for qb play dude. Have you watched the Saints, Browns, Vikings, Jags, Jets, Titans, Raiders, Dolphins this season?
  13. Yeah this kind of discussion really seems to be from people that dont understand the business of football. There is never a negotiation that is "well you're the 3rd best LT / DE / QB in football so we will only pay you the 3rd most" Remember JC Horn, he was the highest paid CB in football for like 5 minutes, now he's is like #5. This offseason he will be #15. No point stressing about this.
  14. It’s really not an overpay, if he hits the FA market he will get more and as always, it will look like a deal in 2 seasons. Look at Brian Burns, his contract looks fine now and he’s top 3 in the league in sacks. Some people acted like our team would never financially recover if we gave him that contract and now it looks like a bargain. Meanwhile we used that money on free agents on the line who really haven’t paid off for us and wish we had someone with 13 sacks. You never let home Horne proven talent walk unless it’s absolutely necessary and LT is never a position that you play around with.
  15. The difference between a turnover and not a turnover actually does matter.
  16. Yeah I'm not sure why fans think this is a thing. Both players would have made the same if not more due to a bidding war in FA. Milton WIlliams just made bank in FA with NE. Parsons just made the highest ever for a non QB with GB who is always a good team.
  17. 23rd in ypg, 27th in ppg, -50 point differential on the season. they won that game because of the defense which again he has nothing to do with.
  18. You’re probably thinking of Charles Haley who was legit mentally ill and was traded from the 49ers because he fuged around with Jerry rice. I don’t think anyone in the 80s was straight up masturbating in team meetings. Aaron Hernandez used to watch gay porn on team flights tho lmao
  19. Bryce is the 19th overall QB in the league mind you and only ahead of Tua among QBs with atleast 12 games.
  20. 2003 playoff Rams. I knew they’d beat the Eagles after that performance but to take down the greatest show on turf in their house?
  21. Downside to that, is if we do beat Seattle we may not need to beat them a 2nd time. Depending on how they do up to that point.
  22. Bryce "hate" would be substantially less on this site.....if Bryce Young gaslighting and hype wasn't what it was. I'm one of the biggest haters on this site. Am I making anti-Bryce threads? No, I'm largely just responding to folks saying we need to pick up his 5th year and fug this franchise, gaslighting of his deep passing ability, the pinning of some tremendous team wins around Bryce's neck when he is merely a role player, and on and on. If people acted like he was the Brenton Bersin of QBs than the haters wouldn't be talking much about him. But every day, we wake up to folks saying the worst QB in the NFL over the last 3 years with really whack physical tools is X, Y, and Z.
  23. I’m a reformed Ickey knocker. He is a legit franchise LT. He will demand, and receive whatever he wants from somebody. He is a road grader and has really upped his game in pass protection. The potential is there to be even better than prime Gross. There will be no discount and there will be gnashing of teeth when the numbers are published, but he knows his value.
  24. I was watching a reel of fans singing Sweet Caroline and I started wondering if this was the most shocking surprise victory we've ever had. I thought of one other game that was in that category but I'll wait to see what you have to say on the matter. Where do you feel this one comes in a list of our most surprising upsets?
