This thread is about Canales, but Bryce bears plenty of fault for what Bryce has and hasn't done.

1. Cover Tmac. fug all anyone else as a receiving threat. 2. Stack the box on obvious run downs. We will not stick with the run once down anyway. 3. Bring the house on passing downs. 4. Watch the turnover and sack numbers shoot up like a video game. They could probably just kick field goals again and win this one easily.

It was actually two. One last year when Bryce was benched and one in late 2023. And it's his prerogative to do that. But going around here acting as if his is the only rational unbiased word on the situation after doing so and pretending he never did so is certainly odd.

I'll be surprised if they pull a rabbit out of their ass and finish more than 4 wins.

Doesnt have to be a QB, but if it is a QB definitely make sure he has the measurables before anything else.

4 wins was my prediction, but I thought there was a chance with the right breaks and a little luck, to maybe reach 6 or 7. I kind of feel 4 might be stretching my optimism a little too far. That said, it is a crazy easy slate of games, except we are crazy bad, and crazy inept and crazy incapable.

You are right. Just for the current 2025 Panthers I feel is about the only solution towards a correct path. it may help the OL too since they are struggling as well. There's nothing the Panthers do well....might as well try the olde dink and dunk method until its at this same poor level.

Dink and dunk cant work all the time. As soon as the secondary catches on then you are screwed. It also cancels out the run game.

Canales might end up being a dud but there's nothing he or any other head coach is going to be able to do in order to make Bryce Young taller or not have mediocre at best arm talent.

Is Canales really a “QB whisperer” or is Bryce just not that guy. I’m giving him a little bit of a break due to injuries around him and some questionable play designs. I don’t know, maybe this team is just cursed and we will never replace Cam. We still haven’t replaced Gross, Kalil, Smitty, Luke…

This was the risk with spending what $150 million in free agency on two OL? We should have been focused on the draft. Now whether the OL is terrible bad or mid we still have the highest amount of salary cap dedicated to the position group by far. And it's only going to go up when we sign Icky to an extension. Instead of trading up for injured running backs maybe we should have been drafting OL.

The Panthers are a bad football franchise. We have young receivers who are imperfect. We have had injuries along the OL. But Bryce Young is a downgrade from every single QB that has started for this team since Cam Newton's throwing arm died back in late 2018. And we have invested an absurd amount of resources in order to improve this offense. Multiple things can be true at one time.

My last 3 posts have been this- The biggest letdown is OL, the highest paid OL, the one unit with real talent. They have struggle with simple biltzs and stunts, thus BY is under the gun and forced to deal with too many hurries and pressures. Whole team needs to play better, OL is right at the top along with BY. Now with Mays and zalad......ugh it maybe a upgrade given hunt was playing with bum foot and cobert looked bad too. They need to play better for Hubbard and dowdle too, too many plays Ive seen 4 defenders meeting the RB before the LOS.
