Wharton had himself a great game. Very nice to see from a guy who should be here the next 3-4 years.
-
For whom exactly? Lol
-
Exactly what I think. He’s not the guy. This is year 3 and Canales is still coaching around him. With the exception at the D and Rico played, good QB play wins this game by 2 TDs. I’d love to see this team with a better QB. It’s sad to think we picked the wrong year to go QB hunting and trading away every asset we had. The #1 overall pick we gave away was the QB draft class we should have jumped all over.
-
Nothing.
-
you fix this next year by getting an actual QB, not extending a RB it is the most easily replaced position in the nfl. you can find them anywhere, as evidence by Rico Dowdle
-
If we want to win this division, that’s what we need to be
-
Not the same back as he was last season

Where would we be right now with a real franchise QB?

We are built very well for almost any QB right now. The OL (and its depth) run blocks like crazed road graders. The defense has completely turned a corner with a healthy Horn, Brown & the new guys. Moehreg and Wharton were studs today. Scourton had a moment or so again as well. So with that said, give us a "GUY", and yeah, we beat AZ and JAX. Those games were thrown away. We just can't figure out a passing game. -
Well the reality of the matter is we invested in the OL and particularly the interior OL through the nose the way we did as a direct response to protecting and giving our QB a chance. And we've changed gears entirely and became an old school ground and pound team. It's still way too much to pay to have such an anemic passing game.
-
Lol God, I forgot about that lol

Maybe a little crow in the side, I no way saw a win.

joe flacco had 470 yards, 4 TD today

The whole patchwork mess was solid. That is what a lead and a running game can do for them. -
If Rico was performing at an average RB level, I'd agree, but he's our entire offense and producing at a higher level than virtually anyone. He's showing real talent. Now I will say we may want to see if he survives the season since he seems injured practically every game.

Lol fug you no we can’t be friends. You pretend others are idiots while saying people were pissed that GB missed a FG. If you say patently idiotic and insulting poo thinking you are being some smart guy, I will call you on it. -

Who is ya'll and why are some of you so hard up to carry water for a QB whose bar for acceptable standard is essentially on the ground floor now? We aren't starting a late round pick. He's not Mr. Irrelevant. If you think asking for us to revamp this QB room and bring in actual legitimate young competition is somehow being a bad fan then you are insane. -
the dude created the thread for this exact reason. We are enjoying the win but at the same time we can be looking side eyed at our 100 yard qb performance. And for the record this isnt a one off type of game. So when ever the bryce believers want to dunk on the rest of us its quite funny
-
Well maybe you should ignore the pundits. Saying someone is great doesn't mean they are great or will be great. These kids get overhyped every year and fans fall for it because so and so said this or that. None of that means a damn thing. The Panthers screwed up by moving up in the draft and picked a longshot to boot. It was never going to work out because they gutted their team to do so. A longshot qb alone cannot fix this mess. I think it's hilarious that the team can win any games with him at qb but I will take a win no matter how they come.
-
Also this, which I'm not entirely sure how to interpret
-
The NFC is all over the place this year. The Lions just lost to a QB that’s been out almost all season and are now 5-3. They are also very questionable in their offensive play calling. In no way shape or form should David Montgomery fumble and still get several more touches than Gibbs. That’s Chuba over Rico type stuff and they were supposed to be SB contenders.

For what it's worth, that investment in the OL is paying off. Despite massive injuries we are maintaining a functioning - even dangerous - rushing attack. Obviously we are in agreement on the passing O heh. But I'm glad to see the D having a game like this. It builds tons of confidence

Kurt Cobain said being parodied by Weird Al Yankovic made Nirvana feel like they'd "truly made it" I won't say we've "made it" just yet, but there's this:

Totally fair, but I also have not one time complained about winning these games, not once. Everyone keeps saying I'm upset because it's hurting our draft stock, but I've never once said anything close to that, because it's not at all accurate. I'm frustrated that we're 9 games into Canales' 2nd season and Bryce's 3rd, and yet we still just look like crap. Here is a good way to explain how I'm viewing things right now, despite it being an odd way to describe it. If someone took today's game put all the drives in a random order and removed all scoring plays (so you can't keep score yourself) and said, "watch this game and tell me what team won the game and your general feeling on each team" Not a single person would watch the game and say that we were the better team, or even that we played well. And THAT is my problem with the team, because we just flat out look bad still, wins aside. And yes, I acknowledge that good teams still find ways to win when they don't look good. But at some point you need to look good while doing so or you're never going to actually make the playoffs (or if you somehow find a way to, you're going to get crushed by a legit good team). Too many fans keep celebrating wins because they're wins, and ignoring how we actually look on the field. -

I dont think it's a team thats hard to figure out, the formula for winning has been on display for a few weeks now.
