  1. Past hour
  2. I can't help but think there are some here who dislike Bryce so much they would rather watch the Panthers tank than see Young succeed.
  3. You could have read the article. It's a PR thing the NFL and Fedex has been doing for over two decades to promote Fedex, the NFL and charity work. "Winners won’t just take home accolades, they also unlock impact. Every Player of the Week honor will result in a donation from FedEx to Feeding America for a local food bank in the winning players’ cities. Since the program’s inception in 2003, FedEx has donated nearly $3 million to nonprofit organizations, such as charities and children’s hospitals, in the name of winning players. This new chapter with Feeding America brings the program’s community impact to NFL markets." Everyone is making a bunch of assumptions about the parameters of the award and what being nominated is based on and then arguing over it. It's whoever the NFL deems had a great game and then fans vote. Everybody cheers and hungry gets eat.
  4. This year he is on par with Bo Nix which is better than last year. Bryce barely beats him in YPA and completion % but has 1 less TD with a lower rating. He is also one year younger than Bo. Both players seem streaky and can win but still have a way to go in development.
  5. simple math is fine. Put the bad games in a list. put the good games in a list. Anything you want to debate, just throw those games to the side. Let the good and bad list do the talking.
  6. Well versatile he's not. If he stays he will only be effective on the left it appears, if that.
  7. 3 touchdowns, 2 DOTS and yes I said DOTS on crucial 4th downs for touchdowns to beat the #1 team. Context matters big dawg. national media sees it but a panther fan doesn’t lol
  8. The point was it was exaggeration. If everyone agrees that little touch pass is dot I stand corrected. Not sure everyone agrees.
  9. Because I was responding directly to someone pointing out how Maye is an MVP contender without throwing for 300 yards this season. That particular post had nothing to do with this weekly award, it was solely pointing out the craziness of that statement. I also don't think that statement means what you think it does. The "meaningful community support" I'm pretty sure is just a reference to it being a fan voted thing, as it's not like they talk about what these guys do in their communities when they're nominated for it and a factor in why they were nominated.
  10. Found this stat interesting https://x.com/TacosTweets/status/1995247160942567430 Definitely has some clutch gene in there. -Feel free to attack it or highlight it to help it conform to whichever agenda you like. I'll keep saying it's simply easier to say when he plays good and call out when he plays bad.
  11. I don't think he's worthy of being nominated for the award this week, even with those very broken down stats. He had a great statistical game, I'm not saying he didn't, I just see how it was a Top 6 statistical performance this week. Brown's 10 receptions for 132 Yards and 2 TDs is so much better than anything Bryce put out there statistically today. It also means you're giving more credit to the "3 TDs of 30+ yards" than Mahomes throwing for 25% more yards and an extra TD, which is something else I'd disagree on, if you need to break down how long a TD pass was to give reasoning as to why lesser stats were actually better than someone else's, then I think you're hurting your own argument. And yes, I know I've been a very vocal anti Bryce guy, but this has NOTHING to do with that. I just view this as an award that is purely statistically based, and if anything, could (or maybe should) be done blind and only looking at box score output without knowing players or game outcomes. And in that view, I don't see how Bryce had a game worthy of being nominated for the award this week, that there were at least 6 better purely statistical performances, that's all.
  12. If this award is for the week, why are you pulling stats outside that parameter? It's also a fan vote so it's just PR and Marketing. The award isn't just about stats. According to the website: The program, now in its 23rd year, celebrates weekly standouts from across the league while connecting elite player performance with meaningful community support. https://newsroom.fedex.com/newsroom/global-english/fedex-air-ground-nfl-awards-enters-second-year-of-expanded-player-format
  13. Drake Maye is 11-2 and leads the NFL in passing yards, completion % and is in the battle for TDs. (he doesn't have a single game under 200). On pace for 4400 which would have put him right outside the top 5 in 2019. A good game here or there and he would be top 5 back then. now they get an extra game now but the dude is airing it out......but you can only do so much when you win.
  14. LMAO. Pittsburgh is where receivers go to die and they likely wont even make the playoffs. I think I would have just ridden out the year on the bench in Minnesota and collected those last few checks before calling it a day.
  15. At lease no one is nominated for air or ground for going against our team.
  16. I’ve never seen a group of fans so unhappy to be winning
  17. Again, as I've noted in my other posts in this thread, we're not talking about the actual MVP award, we're talking about an award who's purpose is to award great statistical performances. And beyond that, you used a terrible example to try and support Bryce here. No, he doesn't have a 300 yard game, but he's also currently leading the league in passing yards (yes, he'll fall a couple spots while on by this week, but he's still currently 4th in the league in YPG), while Bryce is currently 19th. Bryce just threw for 206 yards, his 3rd most yards in a game this year. Drake has only thrown for less than 206 yards one time all year. Against us, in a game they won by 29 points and he went 14/17 for 203 with 2 TDs and another rushing TD on top. Drake also only has 3 games this season having thrown less than 259 yards. Bryce has 5 career games over 259 yards passing.
  18. The Huddle: "Off with Bryce Young's head"!!!
  19. Rex Grossman led the Bears to the Super Bowl! He deserves the same credit for all those wins as that top 5 D, HOF Devin Hester lead special teams and rush attack! They definitely didn't get there in spite of a QB that had (check notes)....the 43rd best completion % in the NFL that year and top 3 in turnovers. you just can't take credit away from Rex like that. In spite of? Dude had GWDs.
  20. I was just making fun of the stat jockeys btw, I actually agree with you.
  21. I think the stats he’s nominated for are 3 TDs of 30+ yds, 2 on 4th down, 0 turnovers, 75% completion, 147 rating, etc. Unless “stats” is code for “400 yards”, his stats are certainly worthy of winning the award.
