Because all four teams are going to the playoffs regardless of the outcome. You can't penalize Alabama for getting beat in an extra game that other teams didn't have to play. They are still a two loss team. They will get in. Meanwhile lets say you Indiana wins this game but their QB has a season ending injury - was it worth it? That's where I'm coming from.

Not about what I think. Can you find any sources suggesting the team wants to bring competition for Bryce? (I haven't seen any, just the opposite) That situation could change but right now, I'd be surprised.

Am I missing something here? Can you just maul a receiver catching the ball behind the LOS? Because on that screen pass that OSU just picked off, one defender just mauled the receiver and the other one picked it off. Mendoza should've just ate that one but unless there's a stipulation in there I'm not aware of that was as blatant as DPI gets.

The Alabama - Georgia game was essentially an elimination game for Alabama and Georgia's chance to lose a first round bye. The OSU - Indiana game is for the number 1 seed and Indiana's first conference championship in school history. How are either of those pointless games?

If UVa loses, James Madison is in. If UVa wins they are in. Bama's fate is solely in the committee's hands to vote them in over Notre Dame/Miami at this point.

Most, if not all of them. It isn't "coddling" either. It's standard practice. When a team names a starter, he's the guy. Like I said previously, the Bucs aren't going to go into next year telling Baker Mayfield he has to win the starting role again. He keeps it by default. That's how NFL teams operate. Our feelings don't matter.

The Alabama-Georgia and OSU-Indiana games are pointless. If I was the coach of any of these teams I'd send my second string out there. I'm not risking player health or my playbooks for a meaningless game against a team I'm gonna be playing again in a month. Next step is they eliminate conference championships.
