  1. Past hour
  2. One thing this got me thinking, is if Canales got some of the best seasons out of Baker/Geno/etc, how long before Tepper asks him his true assessment of Bryce? Obviously it has to be sometime during or after camp once pads are on
  3. Here is the bottom line---if you assume that the offense was bad because Young was bad, then that position is understandable. If you assume Young was bad because the offense was bad, that is understandable. Personally, I think Bryce will improve a lot in 2024. There just aren't too many rookie (or veteran) QBs who would have done well under these circumstances....full stop. I have NEVER heard so many different experts (game announces throughout the season) analysis experts, talk so much about a team's receivers not getting separation. Experts know how important this is because the qb has about a second to get the ball in that window--we did not have any windows. Furthermore, we had 7 different LGs and 8 different RGs. 62 sacks, most up the middle. So he had people in his face with no open receivers. And people are saying, Bryce sucks!! My question is this: What is he supposed to do? Make sure his plant foot is secure and he is holding the ball to his ear?
  4. I mean we can't really discuss WR's or Centers or whatever without mentioning the QB situation. Not sure what the optimists are grasping at. He was incognito all offseason except for a couple celebrity camp/youth camp appearances. Thielen was in the weight room every time they put out any footage inside the building. I think being the number 1 pick and QB1 comes with more weight than just showing up a day before voluntary workouts, no pun intended. If Cam had done the bare minimum imagine how much he would have been killed on here
  5. You know that saying about the SH, that if it doesn’t get brought up, won’t be any IT?

  7. Today
  8. Any QB worth his weight in gold is going to get his guys the ball. Of course he has to have the protection, coaching and experience to do that. Moreover, it has yet to be determined what type of situation this is for a rookie wideout. The most important thing that will determine that is coaching.
  9. I watched it this afternoon and I thought some of the best discussions was before it even got to the players. One thing that really jumped out to me was when Smitty was asked about how things have changed since he played and the thing he talked about was how when he played and going back to Jerry Rice says, the #1 targeted or looked to receiver was always the X and there's still a lot of people who's minds are still stuck in that idea. But what has happened is that the, what he calls, the F receiver...the flanker...is now the go to guy. You need the X to try and get safeties out of the box, but the QB is now looking for his flanker most of the time. Lots of good discussions all through it, but for some reason the ones involving Ladd, Corley, and Leggette was the most interesting. Ladd was how he may be best fit for just the slot, but he's the best slot guy in the draft and he's just a guy who gets open and doesn't drop the ball. Corley and Leggette are playmakers who are at a risk of being pigeonholed. Leggette is too stiff to be a slot guy but he can do things like Metcalf. Corley is likely to be used much as he was in college, as the big playmaker you just get the ball in his hands however you can, but he's got a lot of room for development as a receiver. It's just good football talk all the way through
  10. I'd resigned myself to 2000 and never. Cautiously optimistic based on this off season that 2026 is a real possibility.
  11. In Charlotte in the lower price points it's still tough. 300 and under I'd say. Granted I haven't worked with a residential buyer other than 1 friend looking at expensive new builds in about a year so I could be out of touch but if rates Dip down again that would be a likely scenario
  12. In the playoff thread. Will not start game 1. Wont know till he practices, paraphrases Rod. ”Not a concussion”. A “neck sprain” per Donny Wads. “A matter of days”. I am sure they are probably physically restraining him from getting on the ice. You ain’t gonna keep that dude out. Not for the playoffs. Edit: I also want to point out in the presser Donny Wads specially referenced the MSF line. You can find all the pressers at: canespr.com ->media availabilities. MSF mother fuger. Better fugging happen.
  13. It's been one mess to the next since we cut Cam Newton my friend. We had absolutely no plan whatsoever and just thought it was going to be a cakewalk. That's insane ego from the part of ownership. We're already there as far as the next Browns or Jets unfortunately. Best hope we have right now is maybe we can at least get back to some semblance of respectable football or at minimum watchable.
  14. Coaching is key but also beyond that and fitting them to the right scheme and role is pairing them with the right QB. Whichever receiver we draft people are going to have to be very patient. This is not an ideal situation overall for a rookie wideout.
  15. "A wasted developmental year..." It's just part of the process of rebuilding, changing the culture and the narratives surrounding a franchise that's been circling the drain. Better to be pulling yourself out than in the tank. This may be our last chance to not become the new version of the Browns or Jets for the next 20 years.
  16. Smitty and Lance Zierlein see eye to eye on the top four, then they start diverging a little bit. It's an hour and 18 minutes. Link only (due to NFL content.) https://youtu.be/LDzLS0viRX4?si=P5JkRNA8eqevnpHc Again, if you like hearing about receivers, give it a listen. I know at this point that it's easy to get overwhelmed and/or simply tired of too many opinions. That being said, I found the discussion about some of the receivers pretty interesting. Tidbits: Both have Nabers WR1, but you can't go wrong with Harrison or Odunze. Smitty has Ladd at 8, Zierlein at 5. Smitty has Worthy at 5. Sixth is AD who needs to work on route running. Zierlein said two ex-receivers that Smitty knows have expressed concerns (and, just guessing, it could be Keyshaun & Irving). Legette is 9th. Which Legette are you getting? Many of these receivers, including Odunze will have to play in specific roles for them to shine. Pearsall is 14th. He can play outside but eats in the slot. The most interesting thing to me about watching these many analysts is that they all agree that where a guy is drafted and how he is deployed absolutely matters. It can make or break careers. Sure, you have some guys that can do it all, but those aren't as prevalent as we'd like to think, that's why putting guys in the best situations to succeed is so crucial. At the same time, you may not even know all the guy can do based upon the offense he was in on the collegiate level, so you at least have to explore the possibility that he can do more. Coaching is so important.
  17. I never tried HGH but tried a number of different gear related items over the years to include, test cypionate, test enanthate, sustanon, equipoise, masteron, primobolan, anavar and winstrol and damn sure enjoyed all of them. I heard a lot of good on HGH but also some bad. They sure do help in the short term over a number of years but when the playing days come to an end you end up regretting all that stuff when you get past your 20's and into late 30's and early 40's. I would most definitely advise Bryce to avoid at all costs even if it means him losing his career. Gear is a silent killer and it slowly takes years off your life. Nearly killed me years later. He needs some good nutrition, some hard weight training and some explosive training on a field and I bet Bryce would very much have improved performance on game days. Drew Brees while taller than Bryce by a little was in fact very strong for his size and trained very hard for that strength which I believe helped him to be who in my opinion could possibly be tied for the best QB ever. Bryce needs to get on the Drew Brees training and nutrition plan.
  18. Do you agree that it is a concern or are you just going to keep doing this charade where you enter every thread outraged that people are discussing something that makes eternal optimists uncomfortable? It's perfectly fine if we disagree. Just don't frame it like you are some beacon of objectivity because you have a very clear shtick and it's been the same for years. Contrarian.
  19. It gets acknowledged and discussed in most topics and you post this in every one of them.
  20. I'm not at all interested to know ahead who the selection will be. And I assume any info trail gets shut down once it's found out it's being spilled online for someone else's gain. Not suggesting it's wrong to be interested in it but not me.
  21. Rattler playing behind that terrible OL didn’t do him many favors I’m sure. Those inconsistencies while showing out against lesser secondaries is alarming though. Plus he wasn’t really good until his last year (5th year senior right?).
