  1. Past hour
  2. the Panthers drafted him last year #1 overall and gave up a fortune for him. Now you got folks talking about him like he is PJ Walker who we plugged out of FA.
  3. The Niners almost pulled it off. You just need an absolutely loaded roster and creative coaching. Definitely not the norm.
  4. I mean, the overwhelming bulk of a Bryce Young offense is going to need to be in the gun. He is too small to live much in a traditional pocket and his game just isn't a fit for it. they drafted Bryce Young. It's time they realize it and act accordingly. Which they failed to do as a rookie. I mean, Frank at least liked the shotgun but that was it. Horrific scheme and talent that didn't match where Bryce would go with the ball.
  5. The fact there are great starters picked in mid rounds every year belies that idea that we have to pick at 33 or risk getting a guy with lesser talent. On the other hand if you don't have good scouting ability it doesn't matter where you draft including number 1 in the draft
  6. that sounds like a recipe for a .500 team. In the NFL a qb has to elevate to become sustained playoff level team. And good for you buddy for believing in classic coach speak
  7. No offense but, I'll take Canales over you 100% of the time. Young isn't a franchise QB. He just needs to execute his high profile position. Manage the game plan and do your job.
  8. From Campbell: " Some team sources said they think there could be more trade movement in this year’s draft compared to typical years. They shared they believe this movement could start in the middle of the first round, stretch into late in Round 1, and then continue throughout the second day of the 2024 NFL Draft. The reason for the expected fluidity is teams feeling there is a lack of talent on Day 3 of the draft thanks to the influence of NIL in college football and more players getting paid to stay in school. That has weakened the talent depth of the draft, leaving teams believing that third-day picks have less value. Some sources from playoff teams felt that there is a good chance that the players they would get on Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft would have a very hard time making their final 53-man roster, so rather than use the pick on a player who is likely to get cut, they could use the pick to move up in the early rounds. This year’s draft has the potential to be one with a lot of trades, starting on the opening night of the draft." I've always been under the idea that 5-7th round picks are worthless and should be used to trade up. Especially for the Panthers UDFA's have the same or better impact than 5-7th round picks
  9. If the guy is borderline alcoholic it won't help us much if he's in trouble all the time. That said, I would take a shot if he were there at 101.
  10. It's easier to get guys open if you send them in motion. Not sure what Canales' tendencies are there, but we were damn near dead last last season when Reich was the play caller and the lack of separation showed. If we do take someone not named McConkey I would expect motion to help assist in getting the players open more consistently. At least that's what a competent coach would do. Jury's still out on the new guy.
  11. IDK man I'm not really sold on Legette getting separation in the NFL. I think at this point I'd rather go Coleman to have that different body type out there
  12. This is mildly surprising, actually. I know Dionte has a great feel to beat press at the line of scrimmage, but tethering him to the line instead of letting him come off of the line and even go in motion to the slot, limits some of the creativity we can get from him. They must be trying to limit the shots he could take from a linebacker or safety over the middle. Guys like Legette, Polk, and Coleman have the bulk to hold up against those harder hitters. Polk and Coleman have clear slot ability, but Legette seems like an X to me. I read somewhere where the debate was coming down to Coleman or Legette. If they are projecting past this season? Legette has a true number 1 ceiling. Coleman may only ever be a Z but he could bring that Tee Higgins element to the offense.
  13. As Dave Canales said last week. Young only needs to be 1/11th of the solution. Just do your job and don't try to be the hero. At this point he's our QB but I wouldn't say franchise QB.
  14. https://x.com/josephperson/status/1782823972142231823?s=46&t=_DjhjjFqclQ6vBvhN496Xg be careful. He obviously doesn’t do much homework. He may have thought the head coach said X but he was actually just saying he’s ready to exit
  15. He is going to have to play under center some to open up the playbook. Throw in some PA and rollouts and I’m all for it.
  16. No player stays at the facilities in the off-season before voluntary reporting. He worked out. He did his things. Every player takes time off.
  17. I missed it live but got some tweets in the timeline
