  1. Fitt's reputation is on the line with Darnold, and now he is doubling down by stating that Sam will make a huge step forward. Ok fine. If Sam does as Fitt predicts, then we're all going to eat a huge plate of crow. And that will be the best tasting crow we've ever had because we'll likely have a winning season in 2022. On the other hand, if Sam poops the bed again then I want Fitt and Rhule gone. Nothing is more important than finding a franchise QB, and if they can't do it then why have them here? Sam pooping the bed is bad for Rhule and his servant Fitt, but it actually will be an amazing win for us in 2023. High draft picks in 2023 will be like diamonds and gold with the QBs in that draft. We could trade down for a king's ransom, or take a shot at drafting a potential franchise QB. We're in a position now where we're likely to fail into prosperity. Sam is more likely to poop the bed, so the odds are we're getting a rookie 2023 QB. If Sam turns a corner and becomes our leader and franchise QB, then that's a win as well. We're in a win - win situation so long as we DO NOT TRADE OUR 2023 1ST ROUND PICK.
  2. I don't think we're taking at QB in this draft. Here is what I think will happen if we're smart: There is no QB worthy of the 6th pick in this draft. We might have 1st round grades on 3 QBs, but that doesn't mean we'll be in position to draft them at the bottom of the first. I don't think they are anywhere near the top half of the draft in talent. So Fitt might panic and try to trade down, but I don't think we'll find a partner offering equal points. That's perfect. So we take a top LT and plan for the future with a 2023 QB.
  3. There is no such thing as tanking. All players, coaches, and management try to win as though their job is on the line. What you don't want your GM doing is taking bad situation and upcoming season and making things much worse. Bringing in a mediocre QB when you're in panic mode makes the situation worse.
  4. The 2022 season is lost. We're not doing anything in 2022, and Jimmy G wouldn't change that. A washed up, injured, "never was" type QB would only hurt our team in the long run. The best thing that can happen now is to lose a lot of games, and draft a top 2023 QB prospect. The terrible Jimmy Clausen season led to Cam Newton in the draft. The terrible Sam Darnold season can do exactly the same thing to set us up at QB for over a decade. The NFL is designed to help teams that have dumb GMs, but we have to get out of our own way. QBs are being handed to us in the draft, and we're passing on them (Fields) for poop awful horrible nightmare bad QBs in free agency. THAT HAS TO STOP. Fitt, who is certainly dumber than most people on the Huddle, needs to get out of his own way. Let the NFL help you Fitt. Stop making so many moves, and take what falls into your lap for losing and being an idiot.
  5. Yeah I think that's a better way of putting. Like Sam could be amazing in some other profession, but making quick decisions is just not something he can do. He doesn't process visual information quickly enough, and that makes him mentally deficient as a QB. On the other hand, it could be that he is also just all around dumb and so he hasn't learned enough in the film room and in practice. Could be both, that's how badly he plays.
  6. Thank goodness we're at the top of this chart. I feel better about our 7 game losing streak and not having a QB/LT.
  7. There is a part of me that feels sorry for Sam even with all the money he's made for not doing much. He's a quiet humble guy and it's easy to like him, but he's just not bright enough to be a QB. There is something sort of sad about that.
  8. Sam does things that I can't explain and it drives me crazy. He'll look right at his primary read, who is wide open, and then move to his next reads for no good reason. Had he not done that so many times he actually might have had a decent chance at getting another season here as the starter. Watching Sam throw the deep ball last season was just sad. Even if Sam got the mental part of his game down I have doubts that he be more than a lower tier game manager.
  9. Why didn't this guy pick all the plays where Darnold looked right at his 1st read who was open and went to the next read? That's Darnold at his dumbest if we're playing that game.
  10. Sam will finish up here and move on to being a backup QB somewhere else. He just doesn't understand offense and defense at the NFL level. If we downloaded a working brain into his empty head his passing still isn't that good. Rock bottom football IQ + mediocre passing by NFL standards = 18 million down the drain this season.
  11. I had another look at Cross and I don't like him as much as Neal. Cross looks undersized out there, and in the NFL everything is bigger. Big DEs are going to give Cross trouble imo. Also I see him holding sometimes because he got lazy. I prefer a bigger LT than Cross. We need to rough people up with McAdoo here, and I don't see him wanting Cross.
  12. I decided to go back and look at Evan again and I just love this guy. His hands are super quick and precise for such a Bigfoot sized human. What a monster, but quick with those hands, quick into his stance, shoots those hands out at just the right time, and has so much power. Great kick step and balance. A dancing bear with his footwork and his super fast hands. He has the same problem popping up each time I watch him. He is a little vulnerable to a bull rush from big DE. He counters that with great technique, but even then he's going to get pushed back sometimes near the QB. His great technique prevents sacks, but the QB will be hurried/pressured sometimes. He doesn't anchor as well against a big bull rushing DE, so he needs a pro weight room lifting regiment. Get that core stronger.
  13. Imo Neal will be gone before we pick. There is no reason he should be there at 6. That's crazy unless QBs start to go. The mock drafts may have Neal falling to 6, but remember that you have to keep changing your mock draft to keep people coming back to read it. Everyone gets moved up and down, and sometimes it's just to keep things interesting.
  14. Oh Goodness Evan Neal is better than Cross. Evan Neal is so good that if he falls to 6th my heart will be racing. What is so good about Neal? He is 6'7" 350 pounds and has terrific technique and all the skills tackles take a long time to master. This guy is the baddest mf I have seen in a while. At 6'7" he run blocks well because he isn't lazy. He goes down low and gets under shorter opponents and drives them back. That is exhausting and he does it anyway, and blows people up with great technique. At 6'7 350 you'd think he'd be naturally great against a bull rush from tall DE's, but he isn't. He uses technique to defeat bull rushes from bigger DE's, so he uses his hands/arms to chop their arms at the elbows so their arms bend inward into their own bodies, and that is how Neal stops them. Technique while he keeps his balance and gives some ground without backing into the QB. Neal is really smart, and he keeps his eyes active on what is happening around him while he's already engaged with someone else. He never looks away or gets lost when a stunt is coming, he knows what might be coming and he watches LB or whomever. Neal breaks off his double team and gets to the second level like a pro. He times it just right, and he tracks down the quick LB like a heat seeking missile and blows him up. I have, on several occasions, seen Neal punch a defender and send them flying backwards. I am not exaggerating. In general he is a damn load to try and deal with for an entire game, and he's smart as hell. I see Neal as a future Pro Bowl LT.
  15. I'm not expecting Evan Neal to be there at 6, but anything could happen. I think Cross is more realistic.
  16. We can go o-line in this draft, and QB in 2023. No more trading away the future for mediocre QBs in the present. That's how we got to the bottom of the NFL, so I think we're learning not to do that. Our GM is not bright, (see Sam Darnold) but even he can figure out what isn't working. Sadly for us the damage is done, but we can slowly recover with the right decisions.
  17. "They payed me a pile of money this high to find a QB, and I found Sam Darnold. I'm unfireable."
  18. Good if that's true. It shows we're no longer willing to throw away high picks on washed up QBs who were never that good to start with. We're learning not to do that anymore. Progress.
  19. Mahomes needs to take a Brady style pay cut.
  20. It will be Sam Darnold. We are spending 18 million dollars on him, so it doesn't make much sense to spend even more on another washed up veteran. 18 million and another huge some on top of that for QBs would be a bad idea.
  21. Yes let Zombie Cam start in 2022, and draft a QB in 2023. Totally fine with that.
