If you want to be a playoff team, you win this weekend
pantherj replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think we're playoff caliber with CMC, and we're not without him. It's because our offense is just not good enough without CMC, and you can't have a tepid offense and expect to make the playoffs. We're basically using CMC to prop up a non-playoff team and who knows if his body will hold up. If he can stay healthy then I like our chances of making the playoffs. If not, then we'll have to rebuild the o-line in the draft and continue to slowly build a team that has the talent to be great without CMC. The elephant in the room is that our o-line is exactly as bad as nearly the entire huddle feared it would be before the season started. And the effect of that is starting to wear Sam down as the season moves along. Ever wonder why Sam is a mile off on his deep throws? It's not because he can't throw deep. The ghosts are coming back. I think Rhule is going to put in Christensen this Sunday to do some ghost busting. -

Anyone else got a bad feeling about this Eagles game?
pantherj replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
If CMC doesn't play then yes I have a bad feeling. -
On the bomb to Cooper the players screwed up the blitz. The players had busted coverages in the secondary, sometimes Dak saw it, and sometimes we got lucky and he didn't see it. To make matters worse Dallas came out holding in the run game for their first TD drive which is why they looked so awesome running the ball on that drive. Both the coaches and players need to share the blame and I think they're doing that well. There were times when I wanted 4 LBs out there against Dallas, or damn do something to stop the rushing. We looked helpless at times when massive rushing lanes and our players could get off blocks. We need a better plan in place.

Cam Erving and Shaq Thompson are OUT. Christian McCaffrey is DOUBTFUL

I'm expecting Brady at LT they have been getting him ready for that spot lately. I think Rhule wants the Eagles guessing about CMC. -
The thing about Gilmore is that I worry that he will have yet another concussion as he's had a lot of them.
-
Let's say Gilmore is 90% of what he once was before father time and the injury. Huge win. Let say he's injury riddled and plays poorly. We're not on the hook beyond this season and we only lost a 6th rounder in 2023.
-
They are practicing with Christensen at LT and he is build more like a tackle than a guard.
-
It won't be Jackson to FS. Hell Gilmore is 10 pounds heavier than Jackson, and 3 inches taller.
-
Think about when Horn returns late this season (hopefully). That's going to be nasty with our pass rush.
-
The CJ deal was nuts. Now Gilmore for a piece of poop is 2023? Holy smokes.
-
Keep that 1st rounder for a center in the next draft.
-
It will be tough to top the CJ deal. Just look at CJ move on the field. He's incredible and we got him for a hell of a bargain.
-
We need to pay 5.5m to Gilmore.
-
Panthers are wait and see on Gilmore as to if he gets another contract.
-
Fitterer and Gilmore are neighbors btw.
-
Yeah I think we will hang on to him. I don't buy into the rumor mill often, but I figured I'd pass the info on.
-
There is zero chance Jackson is going to play FS imo.
-
It's supposed to be a package deal for a lineman and Gilmore will be in it, but only if the other team takes the bait. They're not saying the details now and it's rumored the info if leaking from one of our scouts. Could be total bs.
-
Uh oh. So don't take this too seriously as this is a rumor. This may be fake insider information, but this rumor mill is saying we are looking to trade for offensive linemen and Gilmore might be involved.

HOLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYY POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP

Christensen looks like a LT/RT not a guard, and if we want him at guard then we need to bulk him up. If I were going to play Christensen now then I'd put him at LT and leave Moton at RT. The biggest thing that bothers me is that Deonte is not at RG. I don't care if he's slow at pulling and running down field he is a BRICK WALL at pass blocking. Paradis is a constant problem and he's going to ruin Sam. We need to look at our practice squad for a center.
-
CJ got screwed on that play because we blitzed and they screwed up the blitz and went in the wrong lanes. That's why Dak had a month to throw.
-
This could be a Christensen needs to bulk up and Brown needs to slim down situation. Or maybe they don't know the offense well enough, or both.
-
Didn't Christensen go in a few games back and get knocked on his ass and then promptly get pulled two plays later? I am misremembering that?
