I judge GMs over the long run by wins. Early on we didn't get the QB we wanted in free agency, so that's a big loss, and we acquired a QB no other team wanted to trade for. We also signed some backups and lost Samuel. If that is making you think our GM is really good then the bar pretty low. If you think he's just competent then that isn't much to post about.

Do you have the links about the Panthers not liking Lance and Fields?

Sounds like Teddy will be Traded

I think we might draft Trey Lance. -

I think we have to take a look at Trey Lance (the most likely to fall of the big 4) if he's there at 8. We can draft Trey and let Darnold sail the ship in 2021. -

Darnold can certainly rack up losses and interceptions, but he was in a bad situation overall. I don't know what the hell Fitterer is thinking, but that usually means the coaches and staff will be gone in a couple of years. -

I see a pattern of the Panthers just quickly cycling through experienced QB who didn't pan out until we hit on someone. Darnold will have a short leash imo, and if he doesn't produce a winning season in 2021 then he needs to be mentally prepared to be the scapegoat. We'll put the losses on him and send him wandering off into free agency. Rhule is an odd dude. -
No disagreement there.

Guys let's please try not to pin our hopes on what Jets fans think. It's cringe worthy.
-
Yeah trading down with NE for Mac Jones would be a hell of a move. I like that part of your plan.
-
We now need to build a brick wall in front of Darnold. I don't want to hear "well her was under constant pressure."
-
The coaching staff did their best, but they lacked the talent to make it in the NFL. Darnold is coming to a better team with a better coaching staff. What that will produce in the coming seasons is anyone's guess, but I have a bad feeling.
-
We're giving him another chance. We're very charitable and kind.
-
LOL those were not the reasonable choices.
-
NO ONE, no one, had Darnold as their top priority. Yes it's desperation. Like the fat chick at the end of the bar after last call.
-
Fitterer has a scarcity mentality that was triggered even more by his failure to snag the much better QBs earlier in FA. Even so, I am going to stop making negative posts about this situation. I am hoping for the best from here on out unless someone replies me about my earlier posts.
-
Exactly. This a longshot, and we know Rhule will make a switch again quickly if he doesn't pan out.
-
The unanimous plan on this forum was to stay put over the QB situation and wait and see what happens at 8. A few oddballs mentioned Darnold, but they we're taken seriously. Now that we've done it, fans want to be positive. I get it.
-
He was totally desperate because he whiffed on better QBs, so this time he overpaid for a lesser QB. Never get desperate especially with the #8 pick.
-
Our fans are tying to put a positive spin on this because it feels good, so I get it. They put the spin on Teddy as well. It's emotional.
-
Basically we still need to sign a QB at 8 and treat Darnold like the long shot that he is.
-
A GM admitting he's wrong is bad news for us.
-
When you're looking for an outlier you know it's not looking good.

If that's what you're going to pin your hopes on then hey you gotta have something. You probably liked the Teddy move as well.
