  1. Found this article about the Falcons. This however is exactly how we are especially in this forum. Does Arthur Blank want a new QB? (msn.com) I think if SF takes Jones, Atlanta will take Field just because Blank likes him.
  2. You know I have been on the Creed Humphry bandwagon since someone posted about his ability to command the line and take pressure off the QB. I think, especially with Darnold at the helm, this will be invaluable to his growth. Not to mention he is one of the top Centers in the draft. He could start at guard and learn from Paradis for a year. If we address OT with the first pick and Humphry with the second. I think we could go BPA the rest of the way.
  3. This is probably more of an educated guess than fact. Fitterer when he was with Seattle traded down numerous times for more picks. It just depends on who is where when #8 gets to us. 10 More day until the madness reveals itself.
  4. The most telling point is that we signed him immediately. They had to realize that this guys has some great tools and will be a huge upgrade at guard and maybe take over center if and when Paradis moves on.
  5. If we properly address the offensive line. I think with the offense we have we can win a lot of those games we lost last year. 10-7 to 11-6. I think we are going to see a very exciting team this year. I know many of the players we have added are unknowns. I have faith in Fitterer and Rhule that we are adding players that are going to improve this team and improve depth.
  6. I believe Fields/Lance have just as many question marks as Darnold does. I don't think adding either of these QBs improves the position. Fill the roster with good young talent and let him grow.
  7. Couldn't have said it any better. We are in a position to put a winning team on the field in 2021. You can double down on another new QB or you can use that pick and build a good young team. If Darnold fails we will have two first round picks to move up to get one of the QBs of choice. This won't be the last year that many good young QBs come out of college.
  8. For the right price next to Brown would be an interesting combo.
  9. Some of those highlights he moves well within the pocket and makes plays. Considering the coaching this is a promising virtue. If we can protect him better and with the weapons we have. He should do better.
  10. Kalil's point about them raving about Wilson making throws across his body and that he has seen Darnold make the same plays makes me believe he can be as good as Wilson with the right coach. I don't think we are targeting a QB anymore and hoping one of the good OTs are available at 8. We might trade back and still get one of the top 5 OTs in the draft. Plus gain an extra pick.
  11. The more I hear the more confident that we are going to be happy with Sam Darnold This was just on the Herd Show.
  12. Totally agree. The whole time I watched the SB I could not help but think exactly this. However, @MHS831pointed out. There are some good prospects in round 2. As long as we don't wait for day three to come before we choose a OT. I think we'll be ok.
  13. I dislike the guy because the 2 times he has been with us he's made terrible moves and thinks he's a mastermind at finding obscure talent. Both times with us he has managed to make insane contracts and over value players to the point where we are strapped with lousy contracts for years.
  14. Thanks It's always nice to hear some insight on what we are thinking outside of D. Newton and J. Jones (neither do I trust). I think it will be very important if we select a WR that he is skilled in the entire route tree and not just a deep threat. Too many deep threats don't seem to pan out to be great in the NFL. My 2 cents.
  15. Picking your brain. What makes you think we won't go LT? (Curious not insulting) You don't think Slater is worthy of this pick? Some say he's better than Sewell. WR IMO is a luxury pick, something we really can't afford if we plan on contending soon. I think with the trade of Darnold the best thing we can do is put a good O-line in front of him.
  16. The post is about Washington and Hurney. I think my comments are highly relevant to the opening post. Seems you are so hell bent on giving Hurney credit for one super bowl appearing 17 years ago. Hurney has a huge track record of reaching for some obscure player no one has ever heard of and trying to make him a star. He sucks at it. The difference in the HUB football player is that he actually played football while the TE has never suited up. Get a grip and stick with the opening post instead of protecting your favorite GM.
  17. I for one wouldn't but Zod might want to stand by the server for a meltdown if we chose a WR at 8. I said earlier if Pitts and Sewell are gone at 8. Trade down with a team that wants a QB because most likely if those two are off the board there is going to be a QB at 8.
  18. Please put down the crackpipe and check into rehab. Absolutely, no way Teddy is going to be our #1 going into the season. Worst case scenario we hold onto him until the last minute. Here's my take. If someone wants Bridgewater they cannot wait until we cut him because we have time to cut him. They need to get the QB into place before the season. He needs to learn the playbook. Waiting until we release him will put them way behind if we do it a couple of days before week 1.
  19. Our JAGs have experience. Hurney is trying to re-invent A. Gates. A former Basketball player, the difference is Gates played football. This guy has never played one snap and Hurney wants to make him a professional football player. Wait till some linebacker cleans his clock (legal hit) in practice.
  20. I don't believe any QBs are going to be there when we pick at 8. There is a frenzy for QBs and several teams that have question marks at QB. Teams are going to pursue these QBs until they are gone. If one makes it to 8 the choice is going to be tough. Take one of the top 4 non-QBs talents in the draft or trade back and get more draft capital. I believe that if there is one QB left and two or three teams bidding for that pick. We could sell that pick for, at minimum, 1st this year and 2022. Not to mention the extra picks that will make close the deal for the winning team. IMO If Sewell or Pitts is there, we take him if not trade back. We are still going to get a solid first round pick just not guys we have been talking about.
  21. Marty is still looking for that hidden Gem that is going to make him a genius.
  22. Trading with Denver probably only nets us an additional 2nd and maybe Fitts pulls a lower round pick just for good measure. If we get down near Washington and New England. I definitely believe we'll get an additional 1st. Definitely gives us more buying power in 2022 if Darnold fails.
  23. If Wilson fell to 8 I might believe we'd take him, but he's not. If one of those QBs falls to 8 it likely means Pitts and Sewell are gone. I think there will be a bidding war for the remaining QB. I've said it before but depending on who's trading with us and how far up they are moving. We might squeeze out a 1st next year. If it happens that Darnold is not the answer we could package our 1st round picks and move up. I know one thing. I'll be happy when this draft is over. I think this has been the strangest offseason I can remember.
  24. Obviously he failed Speech 101. That's funny that you said that. I couldn't help reflect to my time in college and speech 101. I kept thinking good god you know and um.
