  1. @stbugs Is not a fan of Corral. So, we need to take his takes on him with a grain of salt. That said if we end up in the top 5 in the draft, I think we'll try for one of the elite QBs that come out of this draft. Right now, Stroud seems to be the front runner, but I doubt we get first dibs on him. Corral, IMO, didn't get much of a chance and that's on Rhule. If he wasn't going to get a clean shot with some decent o-line than they should have just sat him the whole preseason. Many want to view his preseason as a precursor to how he would play in the NFL. Game one was terrible, but he did much better in game 2 before getting hurt. Given the chance I think he'll be a solid player in this league. Whether it is with the Panthers, will be the question.
  2. I don't know if Sam would be any better. If Baker can't get it together I would make sure he didn't get the amount of snaps and get some relief on the trade position. Whether it was Sam or PJ.
  3. God knows we don't need to keep scrapping the bottom of the barrel for a QB hoping he turns out to be another Jake Delhomme.
  4. True, but the idea when we drafted Corral was to draft a starter not a backup. If we end up taking a QB he is most likely going to start ahead of Corral in the depth chart. We probably could have used that 2023 3rd round pick on a better position player. We could have signed an aging vet as a backup. Though I get your point.
  5. Agreed, I personally think he has the tools and the competitive nature to get better. The "red shirt" mentality of Rhule has really hampered him and us from ever really knowing what we have. The saddest part of this is, if we do end up in a position to draft one of the top QBs in the draft, we are going to take one. Basically, wasting a pick in next year's draft.
  6. I had high hopes for McAdoo but after 3 games it's just another in a line of terrible Offensive Coordinators. It blows my mind that we can never seem to get an OC that has an imagination. I watch other teams run misdirection plays and plays to keep the defense on their toes while our OC runs the same boring plays over and over. The Giants last night ran a play that was successful several times. Where Jones rolled out to the left and the option of throwing an out pattern or the TE on the inside. The TE made several catches from this play. I just wonder why our OC can't come up with plays like this.
  7. All of the top tackles in this draft have had their crappy moments. IMO Icky has had less issue than the others. None of them are going to win any awards other than being on the rookie team. Thomas from Dallas might be one of them. Too many fans think that they should dominate every play. Most forget that these rookies are going against the best edge rushers in the league. Experience over ability. Those rookies are going to get burned a couple of times.
  8. Though the injury prevents us from ever truly knowing. I think this injury will help him. He'll be able to watch and learn. I do think that he would play better. He has such a quick release that he won't miss open targets. His first preseason game was abysmal while his second game before the injury he played much better. Given proper reps and a chance to settle down. I think he would do ok. At our current pace we'll probably be in the running for a top tier college QB, (Doubt we'll be high enough for Stroud) so we'll never know because we'll probably draft one.
  9. In the old days Pro Bowl meant something. That was in the days where players weren't getting millions and millions of dollars. Today these players are not going to risk a serious injury playing a insignificant game. They should break the AFC and NFC into 4 divisions. Combine the AFCN and S and AFCW and E and the same for the NFC and play three flag football games. Or chose Two captains from each conference and let them choose sides. 1 hour each. It would be a 3- or 4-hour event. Winning team gets a winner take all pot. That would put some excitement into the Pro Bowl.
  10. No more trades for players that are going to sit the bench.
  11. Funny you say that. I remember him talking to Henderson after a play and it appeared he said, "I Told you....." So, it appears maybe Henderson isn't doing his job.
  12. I get what the opening post is saying. I've seen some of these teams and they can be beaten. We would have to show major improvement on the offensive side and that is a huge IF. The Cardinals and the 49ers are a definite possibility. The Rams, if we don't change our BS zone coverage Kupp is going to break the single game record for most yards in a game. We are supposed to have "top three cover corners in the league- Snow Aug 2022" but we play the bend don't break zone crap. Baltimore is probably the only game I have zero confidence we can win. Plus, it is in Baltimore the last time we were there we were reminded to Cut Steve Smith's grass. LOL
  13. If Baker plays terrible next week against the Cardinals I would think Rhule would give Sam a shot. It's not going to get any easier for our QB regardless of who starts.
  14. Robbie is our leading receiver based off one 70+ receiving TD. I'm not impressed. He doesn't fight for balls and get the ball knocked out of his hands easily. Smith, IMO, is trying too hard and is making mistakes. He worked his butt off in TC and I think he'll turn it around. Shenault with only 2 receptions looked better than any WR on the team at this moment.
  15. Foreman, Bozeman and Higgins. All free agent signees that haven't seen many snaps.
  16. He's had his drops but I think he'll pick things up. If not, Smith, Higgins. Regardless, get Anderson out of the lineup.
  17. I think we drop Anderson from the starting line up and put Shenault, Moore and Smith as our starting 3 WR. Shenault is a beast and won't go down on first hit. Robbie is nothing more than a deep threat and since we aren't throwing downfield more. Shenault should get more playing time.
  18. I happen to see the NFL replay of the Miami game the other day. Greg Little was starting guard and looked OK. I'm not sure if any of you notice but seems like we should have had him at guard once he flopped at Tackle. I wasn't focused on him be he's their starting guard and Miami looks solid.
  19. It's possible. Winston doesn't have Payton on his ass. Winston likes to gamble and he'll throw a couple of pics. We get a pick 6 and 5 fgs we might surprise them.
  20. Icky isn't the only one. All of them have had their mistakes.
  21. I have to believe someone did. Rhule IMO has this "football Guru" mentality and that he knows exactly what he is doing and they are going to do it his way. Plain and Simple. I just don't see this many Quality coaches failing because they forgot their trade. Examples As an OC McAdoo did wonders with Manning Campen is pretty well respected around the league at taking mediocre talent and turning them into Pro Bowlers Wilks may not be much of a head coach but is a great DB coach. Rhule and his #1 henchman Snow are driving this franchise into the dirt, just like Chip Kelly did in Philly.
  22. Maybe they should put it strictly to the 4th quarter and maybe our offense will start playing sooner.
  23. You have to put the blame on Rhule. Someone posted the Panthers walking out of the tunnel the other day. It was like a funeral. There was no emotion, no energy and pretty much no nothing. Hell, an LBGTQ parade has more energy. It was a sad sight. Stewart made the comment about the talent we have on this team. Those guys have to step up in Rhule absence. Show some damn fire, emotion even pride. Under Rivera, we may not have had the best team but damn there was some fight to them.
  24. Thanks, sorry about the duplicate post. I didn't scroll all the way down on the front page. This was very interesting though because JS has been in the locker room and his insight of what's going on or in our case what is not going on. I was very interested in his take on our identity.
