  1. I don't see us trading up in round 2 unless we trade down and pick up assets. A round two pick would most likely cost us a round one pick in 2023.
  2. Not much to worry about that. Tepper has made it clear that we will not be negative in a trade scenario.
  3. I would prefer to trade down and get a QB and LT. However, what if we decide to run with Darnold since we have upgraded our O-line so much that they feel he'll play better this year. Plus they may have decided to give Christensen a full year at LT. We drafted him to play LT, 2022 he should be given the chance. We aren't as strong on defense as we were last year and we could use another body to rush the passer or if Sauce fell to us. Team him with Horn and we'd have 2 shut down corners for the next 4 years. It also reminds me of the interview with Campen last week where he said there could be a solid LT in the lower rounds. Maybe we have a target for one of these lower round picks and would address the position then.
  4. I think rolling with Cam would be better than rolling with Sam but that is just my opinion. Cam with a decent line is better than Darnold with a decent line.
  5. My first statement. I know most of you, including myself, want a new QB. But the possibility is there especially if we don't trade down and take an OT at 6.
  6. That would be an option. What's the tag look like. 30 Million?
  7. I gotcha bro. BUT what if. If Sam plays well he throws a wrench into the Huddle's dream of getting a New Coach and QB.
  8. Of course, but what would you do going into 2023. Sam would be up for a new contract. Do you give it to him with the fear he reverts back to his 2021 season lingering or do you let him walk and we go elsewhere for QB.
  9. I know most of you, including myself, want a new QB. What if we decide to take an OT at 6 and don't pull the trigger on Jimmy G or Baker. We go into the season with Sam Darnold as our starting QB. Our line is going to be much much better with the players we have now compared to last season and they are under new management from Campen. We have the weapons to make some noise offensively. What do we do if Sam has a good year? What if McAdoo gets out of him what Brady couldn't? Say we make the playoffs as a wild card team and we are picking in the bottom half of the 2023 draft. Do you resign Darnold or let him walk and get the compensation pick for him. Do we resign him for a mid-level QB contract. Do we target a free agent QB? If Darnold plays well this forum is going to have a field day on what to do next year. We'd be out of the top 10 in the draft. Probably too far down to get a 2023 rookie. Thoughts?
  10. Would love to see Deebo here but he wants a bank roll and we're not in a position to grab him. Plus SF is going to ask for multiple draft picks and it has been made quite clear. Tepper isn't going to let Rhule mortgage the future for this team.
  11. It's possible, but Cleveland at some point is going to realize they are going to have to eat most of his contract. No team is going to take on his 18m final year deal. Before they cut him they'll accept a low round pick and swallow the contract than to walk away with nothing.
  12. Nothing personal. I wasn't offended. i just get the feeling you dislike Howell, maybe cause he's from UNC, and make statements that don't match up with what professional scouts say about him. Rather you come out and say why you dislike him than to say things that are exactly true.
  13. Great logic and wouldn't be surprised to see any of these. However, if we are going to take Baker and Cleveland eats most of his contract I'd like to see this scenario. Some mock drafts I have seen Sauce drop to us at #6. NYJ really want him (listen to Rich Eisen who is a big Jets fan) and will never make it to 10. I say we drop down to 10 and pick up either their 2nd round or our old 2nd round pick. We take the best OT available at 10 and get Corral or Howell in the 2nd round. This way we have a young QB who can hold the clipboard for a season and learn the system just in case Baker wants a bank load or bombs out.
  14. Really he didn't navigate the pocket? Considering his pocket was nearly non-existent in 2021. His pocket presence according to people who actually scout these guys say it's pretty good. Definitely agree with this because your opinion sounds more like a hater of the player for whatever reason than anything logical.
  15. That's a false statement. Everything I have seen and read about him says he reads the field well and makes plays. His biggest issue in 2021 was he had no established WR. All were new replacements for the ones who got drafted in 2021. Mechanical flaws I guess that depends on who says so. He may have some but those can be coached out.
  16. So basically only Howell has flaws in this draft? The others are completely polished ready to go. No one said he was flawless. I'm a UNC fan but it has nothing to do with my take on Howell. There have been several UNC players that I didn't want over the years. My take is he's being highly undervalued. Pickett and Howell are the best of this class at processing a play and making the right throw. I pointed out that Howell was #1 of this class in 3rd down completions.
  17. That's your take. I respect that but I'm saying it now and will eat crow if I have to but we're going to be kicking ourselves in the ass when he proves doubter wrong.
  18. I like how quickly he saw this and threw it perfectly.
  19. He will be lucky if he makes it out of round one and definitely gone by mid 2nd round. 4th round is stretching it a bit don'tcha think.
  20. I think a trade back would be perfect for us. I thought of a scenario of us taking Wills at 6 and keeping him away for N.O. and Atlanta. Trading the pick later in the draft and getting Howell later plus a bunch of extra picks.
  21. I posted the link, Bro. It says 4 hours ago. So who am I to say it's BS.
  22. He's only in his starting his 4th year of his rookie deal. He wants a new contract now but Arizona has no obligation to pay him for what he want. He wants big bucks and we aren't in any position to increase our QB room with another outrageous contract. He won't be a Panther
  23. Panthers Are Reportedly Meeting With Notable Quarterback (msn.com) I have always been on the Sam Howell bandwagon and after reading a couple of articles about all the QBs I believe he is being highly undervalued. Howell had an amazing 2020 and if he was eligible he would have probably been the 3rd QB off the board last year. Many want to point it as a fault of Sam's but he lost 4 play makers off UNCs roster to the NFL after that season. You don't just replace 4 NFL caliber players in one season. He still came within 500 yds of matching is 202 stats. Completion percentage was lower but some of it can be attributed to dropped passes. A couple of articles I have read compare Sam Howell to Drew Brees. While there are others comparisons that compare him to lesser QBs. More than one article compares him to Brees. He's a tad taller but has the same arm strength and mobility. He's not a runner but can use his legs to gain a 1st down when necessary. He also is good processor and isn't a one read QB. One interesting note I saw was Sam has the best 3rd down conversion of all QBs in this draft. I think he's going to make everyone regret passing on him in 10 days. I hope we trade down. Grab a couple extra picks and select Howell.
