  1. Yes I'm disappointed we lost pick 6 but I am happier to see us knock Atlanta out of the playoffs. This draft might be the weakest draft in many years. At least the first round.
  2. Also saw where Gruden might be back coaching. He said it would be hard to resist a young QB like Williams in Chicago. Also might be a reunion for the NYJ and Rex Ryan.
  3. Bryce better be the offensive player of the week. Great game Panthers
  4. Zavala and Mays look good today too. I hope we win. It would be a shame to waste BY 5 TD day.
  5. You can see the confidence has improved greatly. He's having fun and doing a great job. It's fun watching Falcons fans pucker-up.
  6. You could possibly put part of his problems on the wretched lineup we had on the oline last year. He's definitely improved with a better group with him. At this point he's not elite but very serviceable. No need in going the Mike Remmer route.
  7. Sitting here bored at work and watching these early mock drafts on YouTube so I tried my first one. Did a couple trades that were offered. Traded down one spot with the Jets (7&38) for (6&55) and still got Graham. 38 Edge Old Miss Princely Umanmielen 73 Jalen Royals WR Utah St. Tall, fast and a good route runner. Thoughts on first try.
  8. I know this topic has been more about other coaches but I agree. Young was horrendous in the beginning but Canales woke him up, st him for awhile and put him back in the lineup and has played well. Young still has a lot of improving to do but is definitely trending up.
  9. We need to focus on the defense in the draft. Draft Graham or Carter. I feel those free agent we signed will be much better with Brown back and better depth. Evero will give us a better defense.
  10. This topic rears its ugly head every time we get stomped. Bryce has played well enough to be #1 QB going into 2025. It's extremely difficult to win in this league when you have the worst run defense in the NFL. The focus of the offseason should be defense. IMO there are very few players on the defense that should be in the starting line-up. We have to fix the defense so we can have abetter gauge on Young. It's very difficult to gauge him when we are down 10-14 points before the end of the first half. We can address the offense through free agency and the latter part of the draft.
  11. We'll Blackshear and Boone will have to step up. They'll have the opportunity to show they are worthy of being on the team in 2025. I hope they can do a fair job, if not TB is going to blitz the hell out of us.
  12. Many criticize our picks in 2024. I believe that most of them were picked because their ceiling is better than those selected before them. XLs needs to learn how to play in the NFL. Once he gets up to speed he'll be worthy of 32nd pick. Brooks, showed why we took him in the few games he played. The ACL injury really sucks but he can overcome these setbacks. Remember TD had 3 ACLs and eventually will be in the ring of honor one day. Wallace will be a solid LB going forward with experience Sanders, TE is a tough position to play. He a getting valuable playing time and will become a good TE. Going down the remaining draft pics all seem to have a good upside. They may not be showing much now but they will start showing their worth next season.
  13. I think he's shown enough that if a QB fell to us at our pick we'd either draft a defensive player or trade down for more picks.
  14. I'm really tossed on Evero. He has had to play so many 2nd and 3rd string players I don't know if all of this is his fault. I thought his game plan for Dallas was terrible but considering the injuries he's had to deal with on defense I'm surprised we have any wins. His defense in the 2nd half of the Arizona game was pretty decent though things may have been different had Connor not gotten hurt. But that's football and it was a benefit for our defense. I also think things improved very much when DJ Wonnum finally got healthy. If we are going to replace him it should be either a well-established DC with a history of good defenses or a young DC from a good defensive tree. I think replacing him with a new DC from a team that is in the middle of the pack is not a good idea. I'd like to see him one more season with a better stock of players at his disposal. We barely addressed the defense in the draft or at least in the upper portion of the draft. I've said before that our free agent for 2024 on the defensive side were players that would complement Brown. When Brown went down, we didn't have a suitable replacement for him and made our free agents look like misses. Were still in a rebuild mode so I would give him 2025 to prove 2024 was a fluke.
  15. 152 YDS on the ground and two touchdowns and another 13 receiving. The second TD being the game winner, will do that to you. We are fortunate to have Chubba for the foreseeable future. He's getting better and better. I hope he wins a Pro Bowl spot. He definitely deserves it.
  16. Outside of the Dallas game we have battled contending teams. Had we pulled wins in those games we would be talking about winning the NFCS. It's important for us to show we can win those games. I'm happy for the win and we'll worry about the draft later. Remember Luke Kuechly was pick at #9.
  17. What I really like about Hubbard is if the hole isn't there he puts his head down and makes one. Several times yesterday it looked like he was going to get dropped for a minimal gain and he grounded out extra yards. That type of play opens the entire playbook.
  18. It will be interesting to see who is still available at #4. There could be a player someone drastically needs and will be willing to give up a nice haul to get him. Getting an extra round one pick in 2026 would be nice.
  19. First of all, I think we should fix as many areas as possible other than QB going into 2025. Young has played well the 2nd half of the season and needs more evaluation. I think DL should be our focus whether it is Graham or Carter with our 1st pick. I wouldn't be sad if we used our 2nd round pick on another D-Lineman. It will be much easier to get a WR on a one- or two-year free agent contract than to pick a WR that could be JAG. This also gives XL and Coker another year to develop. Our free agent picks in 2024 for the D-Line were, IMO, designed to complement Brown. Once Brown went out those players were mediocre. We need to have insurance in case Brown comes back and doesn't perform to his pre-injury play. Sadly, I think we should move on from Evero. He doesn't seem to have the heart for this team.
  20. Here's the thing that bothered me about Canales play calling that bothered me. Olsen said it several times during the game. Why wasn't he calling play action more. Having Young in shotgun wasn't helping our running game and gave the defense time to tee off on Young. I like Canales but play action needs to be more prevalent in our offense.
  21. Canales's game plan was horrendous. Dallas came at us from all directions and the ENTIRE team played poorly. Maybe a bit overconfident. This game reminds me of the beginning of the season. We'll see if we rebound next week or Bryce just had 3 good games.
