  1. Minshew strikes me as a tell it like it is kinda guy. He scrapped his way into the NFL and showed a lot of moxie when I’ve watched him play. Maybe his style doesn’t jive with some NFL teams way of life, just my speculation. Either way I bet he sees some playing time for the Eagles very soon.
  2. Guess the Panthers believe in going all in and not hedging their bets. Thought a hedge fund manager would know better than that. Now his team’s stadium will either be empty of full of opposing team’s fans because no one wants to watch Sam Darnold dance around the pocket not throwing to open receivers because he’s a shook failure.
  3. Why wasn't a veteran QB signed along with Darnold? Or why wasn't a rookie QB drafted? The chances Darnold failed were extremely high, and PJ Walker is terrible and Will Grier is probably terrible but he's not here anymore for us to find out. How was handing over the keys to the franchise to a QB you dumpster-dove off a bad Jets team the ONLY STARTING OPTION for this team?
  4. he f*cking sucks, throws a few picks and can't bounce back. has the mental fortitude of a 6 year old.
  5. lol I came to the site and got a DNS error and thought the trade had happened
  6. That team had Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly they were going to figure it out
  7. My buddy is a big Cardinals fan and we were just talking about this same thing lol
  8. it would be so Panthers to trade for Watson and in his first game he tears his ACL again and he's out for the season
  9. Matt Rhule makes Chip Kelly look like a genius. Rhule might go down as one of the worst coaching transitions from college to the pros in NFL history based on how much he got paid.
  10. With Marshall out I don't know if it's a good idea to dump him yet.
  11. I agree, these half measures with veteran stopgap QBs only works if you DRAFT a QB. Having Teddy start while they had a rookie on the bench would have been a solid move. Even Darnold starting while Fields or Jones was on the bench. There's not even a veteran backup to fall back on to get us through this season. It's just going to be a sh*tshow for the rest of the season now.
  12. Panthers PR team gonna need to do some special gymnastics to get the fanbase to forget about the other stuff
  13. They quit in the game against the Bengals in Jimmy Clausen's first start in 2010. Before it was a sure thing Fox was getting canned although that was the rumor
  14. I'm not even considering that game because the team had nothing to play for after the coach got fired. At 3-3 against a bad Giants team, the team should NOT be quitting.
  15. Honestly the defense has only looked poor in two games - Cowboys and Vikings games. Both of those teams are loaded on offense. If the offense was in any way competent the Panthers beat the Eagles and Giants with no issue.
  16. You're blind if you can't see that. The number of first round talents on the defense is very high.
  17. This team has a lot of talent. They could win with a more competent offensive coaching staff and a better QB. Even with the offensive line they have, not joking. The problem is really a bad QB and an offensive coordinator who doesn't know how to outscheme an NFL defense over the course of a full game. Look no further than the difference between player performance in 2010 and 2011. Steve Smith looked reborn after a pathetic 2010 season.
  18. Even a 7th grader playing Madden franchise mode could tell bringing Darnold in without a competent veteran backup or 1st round rookie was a horrible idea with a high potential for failure.
  19. I've been lukewarm in my support of him all along, just out of blind hope that he panned out. I wasn't thrilled about the staff he brought in considering how light it was on NFL experience. I even made a thread about how hiring all his familiar coaches could torpedo the Rhule era before it even starts. The team showed promise despite being severely undermanned in 2020 and never quit even in games they got blown out so I thought he could be a good coach given a better team. Well here we are after the first true game the team absolutely quit. Haven't seen that kind of performance since 2010 when the team quit on Clausen and Fox. I don't see it getting any better from here on out.
  20. It's really as simple as Sam Darnold started playing poorly and it snowballed from there. The offense lost faith in him and the defense got gassed from being on the field all the time because they couldn't move the ball on offense. The team finally quit all together on Sunday against one of the worst teams in the NFL. It's going to get really ugly unless something miraculous happens.
