  1. You have to give these kids time. But, Neal got just straight up abused last night. Keep Ickey out your mouth, dude. He's going to be good one day.
  2. That's a different angle that I have never thought about, so kudos to you for the food for thought. I'm going to take it a step further: maybe it's not just a psychological thing; perhaps Baker's shoulder injury, non-throwing shoulder or not has had an irreparable effect upon the way he throws the ball--in other words, his accuracy. Perhaps farfetched, but maybe not. In any event, the injury could be in his head as you suggested, which for all intents and purposes may lead to the same lack of good results.
  3. Well, I mentioned you already. I want to know if DJ is getting the bulk of the attention in the receiving corps. My thing is that even of he is, he still is not playing to the level of other true ones, but I don't really see him getting all this attention. I saw Robbie pull an effective triple team last game which opened up the end zone for DJ. Is Baker just missing the reads? It just doesn't seem like he'saxomizing the skill sets of his receivers NY throwing the ball in the available windows that would maximize their production.
  4. His stats pretty much sucked, even with the big catch and run from Shenault. I just don't see what you saw. It was a bad performance with no redeemable value. The only real plus is that he didn't throw an interception (which is kind of a low bar that was set up by Darnold's suckage last season).
  5. And to think that a lot of Huddlers thought that Rhule's handling--mishandling of Matt Corral's development was a reasonable course of action. It wasn't. He never seriously got the kid involved, treating him like an afterthought, and put him behind a sieve of an O-line and said in so many words that Corral had to make lemonade out of lemons. The way Rhule treated Corral was stupid! Huddlers took Baker and Corral--in a different way of course--for granted. At this point, Darnold might give us more spark than Baker, and I never thought that I or anyone would say that. Baker seems smaller, in all respects, than I ever thought was possible.
  6. I mean, Rex isn't wrong. I'm going to be honest: I thought Baker would be better. I expected him to be at least a competent game manager, but he looks lost out there. All of the criticisms of Mayfield like his spotty accuracy (particularly on those midrange second level passes), and his inability to read the entire field (as was basically suggested by Kurt Warner when he said Baker is best when he only has to read half the field), have been on full display. Add in his timing issues, failure to step into the pocket, what I'll call inefficient mobility, and his lackluster athleticism, and I just don't see him being anyone's answer at starting QB. And, honestly, he hasn't shown to be worth the conditional draft pick that we'd have to give up if he reaches whatever threshold of snaps he has to meet. He's playing uninspired football, and I don't even know if he has the ability to put a team on his back (he surely hasn't shown it against what in reality are suspect teams, and I doubt that he will against top tier teams). He's been horrible to be honest. No swag whatsoever. He just looks bewildered. I really wouldn't have believed that he'd be this bad if you'd have asked me a month ago. He isn't our answer.
  7. He isn't any more heavenly "game-planned" than any other receiver that we have, and I can't wait for someone to confirm that via the All-22 (maybe @TheCasillas). He probably does his best work from the slot to be honest.
  8. Honestly, he never did.
  9. Not reactionary, but premature. I haven't seen the perfect corner, especially on this team. In the grand scheme of things, he's doing fine.
  10. Yeah, he's been bringing some heat today, and the defense is obviously dialed in.
  11. I can't get behind dishonest subjective comments about players, so if me calling someone on it bothers you, then that's the way it is. Furthermore, there's a difference between being a bad fan in some instances and a terrible fan all the time. You are the one that used the term "terrible," so that's your issue.
  12. Truth hurts. In general, I think he's a good fan, but anyone here can tell you that I call a spade a spade. Be honest about ball.
  13. That was a bad throw and a tough catch. Anyone being honest knows that. It was hardly a catchable throw. The fact that you're talking about drops on what was really a two-week thing at most last season should tell you how much you're off base.
  14. How the fug are y'all blaming Robbie for a throw that was essentially out of bounds? I'm sorry but that's being a terrible fan.
  15. There's a disconnect between McAdoo and Baker, and Baker with the receivers.
  16. I don't understand the play calling there, or Baker's decision.
