  1. Thanks @FreeFua I was just going from memory of watching the games, but here are a few others. Denver: 15 for 56 Saints part dieux: 15 for 72 Panthers never "established" the threat of a running game. Teams did stack the box and sent a lot of pressure though early though. That was their game plan going in. I think Young showed them something they didn't think he could do. That's a good thing.
  2. Not sure that's completely true. Some of Youngs best games since the benching were ones when Canales seemed to forget we were a running team.
  3. I really hope he takes advantage of this opportunity. He won't get many more if he fumbles this one. Talent will get you more opportunities, but there is a limit. See Antonio Brown and Josh Gordon.
  4. Most of his time here was with Dalton. And Young is greatly improved since he left. So much so that you'd have to consider if he was a contributing factor - trying to force feed him. That's not Bryce's skill set. Right now, no one can put Bryce in the same category as CJ. That would be comical. But the gap is closing.
  5. There isn't one receiver that defenses plan for - including TEs. Not one. A lot of teams have two or more that you have to pay close attention to every play. Even game plan for. Panthers don't have one that just really concerns you. Please don't say Thielen. Be serious. A good receiver dictates coverages and alignments.
  6. Every QB needs weapons. Every one. Mahomes 1st round pick was a WR. They got Diggs for Josh Allen on top of what he already had there, and then they drafted a WR in the first . The Ravens have been trying to find WRs for Lamar forever. Herberts first round pick was a WR. If you don't have a playmaking WR, then you're looking for one. Hence why their salary increase is pacing that of QBs. But Bryce is supposed to make due when his best receivers are a 34 years old UDFA and a rookie UDFA. Y'all are truly tripping as this point.
  7. And coaches/play callers that didn’t know how to use you or the rest of the team.
  8. I don't know if he'll be the answer, but he's definitely trending in the right direction. I'm legitimately intrigued. We're watching a QB develop week to week, right before our eyes. Not there yet, but it's a bull market.
  9. Vikings defense reminds me of the 2015 Carolina offense. They're just out there having fun!
  10. I thought the same thing. He looked really fast out there. And decisive. See ball. Get ball. Keep it simple.
  11. I'm thinking one legit playmaker wide receiver, and fix some holes in the defense. Then this team could be competitive.
  12. Agree. As much crap we gave Ginn for his drops, he was very important to that 2015 offense. If you didn't put a safety over top... you get what you get. Because your corner ain't running with him by himself. You're just playing the odds that he drops the ball.
  13. Crazy the slowest (combine 40 time) has the highest Y/R and YAC. Some guys just know how to make guys miss and some have all the athleticism but have no idea how to shake a defender.
  14. I'm honestly surprised Coker and Sanders are high on YAC stats. Is that an average or a total number? Seems our receivers only run after the catch on broken plays by the defense. This particular issue has very little to do with Bryce as it was consistent when Dalton played as well. Also think Canales has been the best OC we've had in awhile with scheming guys open. They still don't really do anything with it. Just no ability to make guys miss or run away from defenders. It's pretty sad when Bryce Young is the most elusive player on your offense. He ain't remotely a Cam or Lamar or even Mahomes. Agree that Bryce needs to put more velocity on some of his passes though. I think he generally takes some off because he's trying to throw with such anticipation. You can't frill a pass before a guy even gets to his break, so I get that. Less room for error. But there are plenty of times he just nonchalantly passes the ball when he should be rifling it in. He can do it. He does do it. Just not every time he needs to.
  15. Sorry I don't agree. I'm really not on the "defend Bryce Young" train, but this team's skilled players are not like the rest of the NFL when it comes to YAC. Did you watch the game last night? Good example of what you should expect from your skilled guys after the catch. On both teams. We are happy when a guy breaks one tackle and gets an extra 5-10 yards. Meanwhile every other team has multiple guys breaking multiple tackles for an extra 20+ all day. This has to get better. Doesn't matter who the QB is. Unless the Panthers find another Cam or Lamar. DBs fear and respect fast receivers way more than a strong armed QB. They're not gonna give cushion to a receiver they can outrun even if Mahomes was throwing him the ball. Now if you have a guy out there running low 4.3s or better, that's when it's time to respect the deep ball.
  16. Pretty sure this has been pointed out already when arguing context. CMC, DJ Moore and Curtis Samuel were all YAC MONSTERS! Just get the ball into their hands and any one of them could break it 50+ at anytime. And don't forget Greg Olsen playing the savvy vet security blanket. We're comparing apples and oranges. Actually more like apples and mangos.
  17. Wins and losses should not be a QB stat. Too many below average games from QBs that have resulted in wins. Heck the Panthers vs the Saints and Giants are good examples. Bryce played bad today in a lose, but he's played really well in loses this year as well.
  18. Lol at thinking the last 5 games were perfect setups - against 3 of top 10 defenses. QB9 played bad today. Let's see if he bounces back.
  19. They should have had 10 less passes and 10 more rushes. We couldn't stop the run at all. It was embarrassing and surprising they were passing in the 2nd half.
  20. Neither unit played well today. Particularly in the 2nd half. Just not a good team all around.
  21. Probanly not as involved as he should be. He needs to give up OC responsibilities. He ain't ready to be OC and HC.
  22. Still figuring out when to put some pepper on his passes. He has to figure that out. Don't understand the "he can't make that throw" crew. He's done it alot. He just didn't. That's the concern. Not that he can't but he isn't. Just default to putting some fire on thise passes.
