  1. Somebody. Anybody that can get to the QB is the biggest issue. Same as last season- with Burns.
  2. If they trade Johnson, then they should have just left Bryce in. Team morale would tank immediately. The team knows he's the guy just like everyone else. Johnson is a huge part of XL and Mingo's development. If he doesn't want to re-sign next season, then tag him and trade him then. He'll be worth a lot more after 1000 yards and 10 TDs.
  3. Yep. Evero is gonna have to scheme pressure and confuse the rookie QB with pre vs post snap reads.
  4. Yeah I agree. Unless DJ Moore breaks a couple for 70+ yards. Which is very possible.
  5. They have very different running styles. I hope Brooks can become a homerun back. It's sorely needed.
  6. Great points all around. Probably another contributing factor to why so many rookie QBs are failing early and turning the corner down the road. Usually on another team.
  7. And hopefully Brooks can help get back to the RB legacy. RBs and LBs have always been this team's calling cards.
  8. That game showed me one thing. The Panthers skill players really are bottom of the league in big plays. Need a guy that can run 40+ yards with the ball in his hands. Either after a handoff or after the catch. DJ Moore and CMC had that ability and we lost both. Damn...
  9. The lines dictate the game. Always. Defense: control the LOS and pressure the QB Offense: control the LOS and prevent pressure on the QB
  10. I don't think they're that far off. Honestly believe a healthy Derrick Brown and 1 decent pass rusher fixes this defense. Secondary is good enough. And I really think Wallace will be another good ILB.
  11. It was obvious that he was exhausted. It really does take a few games to get into "game shape." Practice doesn't get you there if you're an every down starter.
  12. Is this CJ Henderson part II? At least they didn't give up draft capital for him.
  13. Does the team get some dead cap relief next season? Wouldn't that open up some space for Johnson, Dalton, Horn, maybe Mike Jackson?
  14. The Ragin Cajun! That mofo would crap all over the field for 3 and half quarters, but was clutch in the last 5 minutes!
  15. After 2023, what side of the ball would you have said needed the most attention? Defense needed some pieces. The offense needed a complete overhaul.
  16. I'll never understand the idea that defense was sacrificed to save Bryce Young. Did we not watch this oline last season, particularly the guards and center? They were beyond bad. The receiving corps was easily the worst in the league. Easily. The changes on offense were made to make the TEAM competitive with or without Bryce Young. And the only real loss on defense was Luvu, who they at least tried to replace with Josey and Wallace. Burns was/is not worth $30+million a year. Honestly, don't even think he's a $20 million guy. A'Shawn and Clowney were major signings. Donte Jackson isn't missed right now. And I know we aren't complaining about YGM leaving, when he got blown up while trying to set the edge against a WR. Plus they brought in multiple depth type players to replace him. Morgan went to work this offseason. Big time. Was it all good? Don't know yet. But he definitely shook up the roster of a 2-15 team. As I would expect. Draft wise, I thought they could have done some things differently. But no one they passed on is looking like a generational talent on another team yet, so we'll have to see.
  17. I think Luvu chose to go to Washington because of scheme. The Panthers matched the offer.
  18. Yep. The Panthers can not get into a shoot out with the Bengals. Evero called a great game against the Raiders, but not sure he has the players to slow down the Bengals. This is a classic, Jimmy and Joes vs Xs and Os.
  19. Miles Sanders has to step up in this game. The Panthers need to control TOP with the run game. Chuba is gonna be tired, so Miles will need to be a factor. Can't hide this week. Let's go!
  20. Mingo is becoming more and more disappointing to me. He has been the definition of "Just A Guy". What he does is easily replaceable. Doesn't make difficult catches. Doesn't make guys miss. Doesn't consistently get open on his own. Catching the ball when you're schemed open and doing nothing with it is a JAG. Even when the OC manufactures touches via jet sweeps, he doesn't do anything with it. Almost time for next man up for those opportunities - Legette.
  21. I hear you. I think everyone has their own definition of game manager. I see a game manager as really a play manager. High level game managers work the play to perfection. Game changers can work outside the confines of the play and make chicken poop into filet mignon - Pat Mahomes.
  22. A dominant oline and a creative playcaller will put up points every week. Some of those blocking schmes with the TEs are crazy for Carolina. Like, what is this witchcraft you're doing with the TEs? I didn't know they could do that. Bryce just wasn't pulling the trigger, and/or he was missing easy NFL throws.
  23. Roger that. An elite pocket passer is an elite game manager to me. If no one is open when the protection breaks down, the play is over. Again. Game manager doesn't have a negative connotation in my eyes. But there are levels.
