  1. No. Leading your team to score TD’s matters. Cam did that. You are overthinking it, or, as discussed, trolling.
  2. Team game. Remember the “Teddy’s record in Minnesota and 5-0 with the Saints” line of thinking? Wins is a team stat, not a QB stat.
  3. After the poo show at QB the past few years, it unbelievable that people cant see (and appreciate) the player Cam was. Wow.
  4. Being a QB at Ohio state doesn’t make you a bad QB. It just makes you an untested QB; a heavily supported QB. You get to see how a guy performs in ideal scenarios, when the NFL is often not ideal. That’s what makes these Bama/Ohio State QB’s such a gamble. It’s easy to hide weaknesses because the surrounding talent and line is such an advantage.
  5. Everyone does it. Literally everyone. You are part of everyone. It may not be as on the nose as “what if Rhule didn’t blah blah blah” but the thinking doesn’t have to include the words “what” and “if” to be a what if. I assume you make decisions, like the decision to post on here. Some part of your brain evaluated whether or not to post a reply to me. What if you did? You have the result here. What if you did not? I would have nothing to respond to. You aren’t better or worse than anyone else, and you play “kid games” just like anyone else (your definition). Although reducing what ifs to what “kids” do, when any form of rational thinking includes what if thinking is…well…something a “kid” might do.
  6. Yes you do. Everyday. Bare minimum, your brain calculates what ifs unconsciously. On a separate note, you know what else is a child’s game? Football. But hey, pretend to be whatever you want. This is the internet after all.
  7. What ifs are built into the very fabric of language, specifically the one you are typing in. A foundational characteristic of human beings is the concept of future and past, so what ifs are used consistently for analyzing the past (such as this thread) and for theorizing the future. Such future what if thinking might be eating less food today so you have some for tomorrow (or so you won’t gain weight over time, etc) and other planning. So what ifs aren’t just for kids, but are used by every person, many times daily, all the time. And that includes you. Now if you are saying we are all kids no matter the age, I might agree with that.
  8. The Texans mascot with the tongue and “eliminated” under it has me rolling
  9. I mean I’d love a HC that everyone loves and wins every year. The players seems to really like Wilks. But it’s a combo. If Wilks can be loved and be a winning coach then great. The point is to win though right? Would you rather have a likable coach who inconsistently wins (we are used to that) or a coach who might be unlikable but does win? I’m down for a lovable coach that produces. If you know one then I’ll have that. I’d love Harbaugh though.
  10. I don’t care if they hate him if they go 12-5 doing so.
  11. I hesitate to agree because he had a .690 win percentage at SF. Maybe he is better suited for college, but he certainly produced at the NFL level.
  12. I don’t understand why anyone would want to pass on hiring Harbaugh. And if anyone wanted full control as a head coach, Harbaugh is the one to give it to. Just because we gave a moron full control and it didn’t work, that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t work with a coach who actually produced every place he’s been. People really want to pass on him because of gossip? I’m ready to win games. fug all that noise.
  13. Bouncing back from lisfranc is really my only concern with him. That poo can end careers. He’s young so hopefully that plays to his advantage. It’s so weird we had two QB’s get the same injury against the same team, in preseason.
  14. Thanks for clarifying. It seems that most of your evaluation is on preseason. That being the case, I understand your concerns. It comes down to how much weight we put on those 3 quarters ultimately, and how thoroughly we evaluate his performance in context. I place more weight on evaluation of his SEC film, vs. the preseason. I just don’t think he was put in a position to be properly evaluated. A proper, thorough evaluation of his ability would be including what he did in the SEC and the preseason (in context). Regarding pro traits; his arm strength, short and mid accuracy, lightning release, footspeed/twitch to evade the free rusher, improvisation, and multiple throwing angles are all there. Preseason he looked like a different player/college, but all signs (in my opinion) point heavily to inexperience, and lack of reps, along with unfamiliarity with the surrounding fringe players. But maybe he sucks. Time will tell. The mental aspect of the game is what breaks most dudes at this level. He at least has everything you want physically besides being 6’5”.
  15. I like Corral a lot and still want us to draft a QB. We have to get the position right. We can’t rely only on Corral. Cam was fine coming back from lisfranc, but it’s a tricky injury. I do think the “Corral has injury history” is a bit overblown. He had no injury history until he twisted his ankle late in the college season, and then hurt it in the bowl game. Lisfranc is a flukey type injury too. Just unlucky. So Corral has been durable, but has had an unlucky last year. Maybe he’s hurt all the time moving forward, but historically he has been durable and played through pain. Lisfranc seems more the exception, not the rule. Just my opinion though.
  16. Well we are getting closer to specifics. You think his throwing mechanics are terrible. How so? What do you mean? What about his footwork is lackluster? What makes you think his knowledge of the game is lackluster? Is this based solely on the RPO offense he ran in college? Not grilling you, just want specifics so I can have further understanding of your opinion.
  17. So much is off about this. First I don’t think you know what objectivity means. -Next you focus on college stats without any context. That’s surface level naive. -You say “these are the guys that win super bowls.” But you only reference Mahomes and his great stats and “awareness” which you don’t define. So “Mahomes” is the guys that win Super Bowls…you aren’t wrong, but a kid could tell me that. -Then you go on with this “authority” talk about how you played and coached and scouted…which means nothing really. Rhule did those things, and made it to the NFL and sucked ass. You can be involved in football and be terrible. So instead of telling us you are know poo, why not demonstrate it instead? If you were a scout…talk like a scout. If you know what the word “trait” means, then speak to what “traits” make a QB great. Stats and general “awareness” isn’t it man.
  18. Happens a lot. They even said they watched a lot of football, and ended referencing preseason, which is less than a game of his football life, in a shitty situation. Doubt they have much knowledge of his collegiate performance and tape. NFL starting traits are clearly present if you know what you are looking at.
  19. What’s funny is I basically want Darnold but more gooder.
  20. I’ll watch more near draft time, but when I watched 2-3 condensed games of him, I recall him being too immobile. I don’t care if the guy is a pocket passer or not, but I didn’t see the quick decisive twitch needed to make the first rusher miss. In a league full of smaller edge rushers built on speed, you need that quick first step to evade the free rusher. You don’t need to be Lamar, but Rodgers/Mahomes/Burrow type mobility is what I would desire in a QB.
  21. Bush is one of the biggest busts of all time, even with a relatively okay career. Dude was the “next Barry Sanders” and the Texans were ridiculed for drafting the better player #1. Bush was one of the most overhyped players in NFL draft history.
  22. I mean if he does that some team will pull a Panthers and throw him a Teddy 3 year deal lol.
  23. Nope. They are looking at the absolutely ridiculous situation of simultaneously being 4-8 AND a game out of leading the division. Our division is actually fighting for who is the worst, not best
