  1. I don’t know. If you are balling out of control in your first contract as a QB, it’s such an important position, you are getting PAID regardless of initial draft position. Just look at Dak Prescott.
  2. Yeah the guys in this class that have every physical tool are underperforming (imo Richardson and Levis), the top two regarded prospects are from big schools loaded with surrounding talent, one of which is also very small, and then the guy taking college football by storm is 25 already (Hooker). Add to it, if PJ continues his play, we will be too competitive to get Stroud or Young anyway. Weird position, and might be a strange draft that we have to take a QB in. You just hate to waste picks. We all have different opinions, but we all agree we are tired of shitty QB play, and we have to hit on a draft pick, or Corral. Who cares ultimately. Just get it done.
  3. I mentioned a few good things I saw in my first post, which are present in the video. I’m not dying on the McCall hill, so if you didn’t see those, that’s fine. Outside of maybe Young and Stroud, I don’t see a QB that’s a clear enough upgrade over Corral that I’d spend a pick on them in this draft. Just another opinion, and it’s fine if you don’t share it.
  4. Why are you being rude? I saw some good things in the video, and you didn’t. I mentioned the things i saw. So what?
  5. Add Anderson or Carter and all of a sudden you don’t have to score as many points as you think you would. PJ/Corral can Trent Dilfer this poo.
  6. You know this reminds me. I think CJ looks odd when he runs. And then I laugh thinking about Rhule changing his gait.
  7. Cam during the pre draft process, and continuing through his career, was treated like a 21st century Jack Johnson (boxer). The difference is with Jack Johnson, the racism was direct. A century later, it was coded. They both were alpha, gifted, unique, obnoxiously confident, and unapologetically authentic. This does not mean all criticism was coded racism, but overall there is a noticeable way that Cam was criticized over his career, vs. his counterparts.
  8. It really wasn’t though. Did anyone watch Gabbert in college? Maybe if you put Chase Daniel’s heart and brain into Gabbert, but the dude just didn’t have it.
  9. I feel like this draft is full of bottom first/early second type QB talents. Young is the most convincing from a talent perspective, with obvious drawbacks. Young/Stroud won’t leave the top 10 (maybe top 3-5) picks, so that value sucks to me. We could complete our d line with elite talent, and then look at someone like McCall in round 2, or simply weapons/G/C, and roll with Corral/PJ (if PJ somehow keeps this play up all season). Will Anderson/Jalen Carter…could you imagine our line with one of those? Exciting.
  10. I would love Gibbs, but we’d need a new OC at least. Imagine running him up the middle every play lol.
  11. So far (as expected) CMC is being used properly by a coach who doesn’t try to force a square peg into a round hole. He’s used in space, stretch zone read runs, catching the ball, and even throwing. He’s a hell of a football player and had no business running dive plays up the gut on 70% of his touches. Win/win. Happy for CMC. He deserves it.
  12. He does NFL things. Off platform. Improvisation. Natural feel in the pocket. Consistent accuracy. He’s better value in the 2nd that any QB in the first unless Bryce has a growth spurt in him.
  13. The more I watch Stroud/Bryce, the more Bryce shines. Something is off with Stroud. Something intangible.
  14. This comp dates me some, but Corral makes me think of Jake Plummer with more arm talent. Corral needs to use his athleticism that way. No more running over dudes, but covering lots of ground on boots, and having the secondary ability to gash teams if they forget about his legs. Corral has a nicely refined play action and sells it well. A great pump fake too. He does a lot of little things well.
  15. He’s looking better and better as the college season progresses and these prospects show more red flags. He didn’t fall to round 3 because of talent (or lack of it).
  16. I may be misremembering. I’d have to go back and watch…but it would make me sad.
  17. I think the main point was that Cam (if you want to say he wasn’t slam dunk) was one of if not the most physically gifted QB specimen ever, and he dominated the SEC in route to a NC and Heisman. Dude was a thoroughbred. The potential was enormous and worthy of #1.
  18. I don’t recall him throwing poorly. He showed the arm strength and threw a great ball. The ball just popped off his arm. Do you mean he missed some throws? He also displayed his athleticism and stature. Cam was questioned for off the field, not on it, aside from the typical athletic QB “but is he smart enough to read a defense?” questioning. I do agree that Luck and Lawrence were more slam dunk though. They also were more “clean cut” (coded) and weren’t labeled as thugs.
  19. Walker is a great story, but a general rule is that around 5ish games of tape make or break these backups who flash. (Teddy, Kyle Allen, Sam) I’m rooting for him obviously, but can he succeed when teams have a better feel for his tendencies? I was in the cut PJ camp. Thought it was the best move at the time because why have 4 QB’s taking reps? Happily enjoying watching him take advantage of his opportunity now though.
  20. Exactly. What’s wild is that people can disagree with this in this thread regarding the Rams offer for Burns, but they would be furious if we traded something like our 2nd rounder this year, for just a 2nd rounder next year. They simultaneously think “a 1st is a 1st” and “a 1st this year is worth more than a 1st next year”, at the same time. Well which is it?
  21. You literally just said that you wouldn’t accept next years 2nd for this years 2nd because they would have to make the trade “worth our while.” Why does a team have to make it “worth our while?” It’s because we could select a player right there to help our team right now, versus waiting a year to draft a player in the same round. Thats why you demand either more picks, or a future pick in a higher round. What’s interesting about the logic, is how you can agree and disagree with it at the same time.
