Don’t confuse me as saying what others are saying because I have not. I clearly have said, probably in this thread, it wasn’t that important to me that he bulk up. That isn’t my worry. I got em but that isn’t a big one.

People are justified to want to hear or see something indicating he gives a poo and is doing something to improve his chances at success in the NFL. To justify where he was drafted, to prove himself. Etc etc.

People criticizing that just want to bitch about something because it is perfectly normal to want to see something .

And fwiw I feel pretty sure that that one game he missed was because Reich did not want to keep playing him. But that isn’t proven but there was plenty of noise about it.

People are justified to feel however they want to feel, that doesn’t mean how they feel isn’t dumb. Putting on weight might not be the best use of his time. He’s a heisman trophy winner and just saw one of his best friends win rookie of the year. I have no doubt that he’s motivated and will/has put the work in. But working hard and gaining weight don’t make you a good QB.

He received ROTY honors. He looked like he belonged at every level even before Auburn.

You're diminishing him to prop up BY.

Who the fug here defended Cam more than I? For YEARS. What is wrong with you bro, seriously. Has my name and avatar changed in a decade?

Cam was a fuging MVP lol

Bryce Young put up one of the worst rookie season statlines ever.

It's flat out disrespect to draw comparisons.

He was an MVP in year 1? Don’t make me do the thing where I have to state the fact that Cam walked into an offense with two established RBs, a hall of fame WR, and two very good TEs. Combine that with the fact that he’s Cam Newton yea things looked a little differently his rookie year.

I think people want to see/feel that he is doing something. That he is doing all in his power to correct, learn, improve, etc.

I haven’t heard anything along those lines from him or about him.

Which IMO it is all talk which is cheap, I’ll need you to show me.

    Maybe we’ll get something.

He ain’t have a weight problem last season. He missed one game due to an ankle. He had problem correctly identifying coverages and a hesitancy to pull the trigger. You can say he has a height issue, but that ain’t something you can work on.

Scott Fitterer said this practically verbatim before the draft to justify the selection.

But now it's apparently a wholly unreasonable and absurd expectation.

The level of coddling is worse than with Darnold. And that's saying something.

So your argument is that the GM that got fired said some poo? The fug is wrong with you

    The offseason program started today.

It’s not about an offseason program. It’s not about weight. It ain’t even about height. People here are miserable. Cam was one of the biggest mfs to ever play the position and they found things to bitch about with him too.

His GM just got fired and he looks like he avoids the gym at all costs. Yet you're talking about manhood size? Who's really got a complex here?

Don’t make me come for you bro. Stay in your lane. People don’t go to the gym just to put on muscle. Stop being dumb. He can’t get taller in the gym, and him putting on more weight isn’t automatically going to make him a better QB. Kid missed one game last year despite getting hit more than anyone and y’all are complaining about poo that either can’t change or don’t matter. It’s tired and old, but look who the fug I’m talking to.

Yeah this was my only glimmer of hope. That he’d come back looking like he gained just a few pounds. Definitely didn’t gain anything

It’s fuging April. Please don’t spend the year obsessing over another grown man’s size. Yall got small dick complexes around here

And good riddance to everyone we lost.

I bet Dan Morgan was pissed at the culture we had become which is why he stayed and is why he chose Canales. We needed someone who can change the culture and identity. We didn't need the best stats guy. We needed the best guy to affect the culture. Canales was the best choice.

You seem like you’re trying to sell yourself on Canales. It was a bad hire. He’ll be gone in two years

My theory was that one of the 4 qbs would have been there at our pick at 9. It would have been Richardson, Levis or Young IMO. We didn't have to trade up to get a qb and it proved to be exactly that way.

Young was never not going to be the first QB taken.

Can you break down why you feel Canales’ offensive tendencies aren’t effective, why you feel he’s a poor communicator, his eye for talent, etc so that we might better understand

I can tell you that he’s only had one year of being a coordinator and in that 1 year the unit he was responsible for wasn’t good.

What the fug do you know about his eye for talent? He’s never been in charge of that.

He wasn't offered a HC job anywhere else.

If he wanted to leave, Canales wouldn't hold him here against his will.  That's a terrible way to build camaraderie amongst your first NFL staff.

    Don't make stuff up.

It’s a historical fact that it’s harder for a black man to get a head coaching job in that league.

When you say qualified are you referring to head coaching experience or overall more years coaching in general?

I get what you're saying and why you're skeptical as it pertains to Tepper. I'm in the same boat. This move could ultimately prove fruitless you could be right. It could work out too who knows. But I think you're putting too much emphasis on experience in this instance. Canales success or failure will boil down to if we are able to turnaround our ability to assess and identify talent. If we keep drafting like poo and signing mediocre FA's it won't matter who the coach is. We'll see if that changes for the better.

    Fair enough
