It is still just crazy how much power Tepper gave Rhule being just a college coach coming in. The contract, the full power on hidings and things. There are very few coaches that have been around for a long time that should have that power definitely not a newbie.

So back to being wildly inconsistent year to year? No thanks. I get the players respect Wilks, and that is good, but I start to worry when they are too friendly. That is when we get back to vets playing over the young guys that are clearly better, etc. We need a HC with a mind that wins games of today, not 20 years ago.

I like Wilks too, he seems like a good guy. The players like him too. That doesn't always win games. I get it, the home town story is cool and it seems like Panther fans are always wanting some Cinderella story but we have to stay strong and expect a coach that can coach in the NFL of today, not decades ago. Playing for field goals and playing not to lose is just not the way. If we want a rehash of Rivera and Fox's inconsistency then Wilks seems like the guy. If we want to build a winning franchise and culture and finally have back to back winning seasons.... I'm not sure he is the guy.

The Panthers really are dumb if they don't take this pick. Burns is not a top 10 pass rusher, he's not great against the run, and he runs past most tackles/sacks. I just think if someone wants to give us two picks we should take it. We're going to really be mad when we pay this guy big money and he's still average to slightly above average....or worse just plain bad after.

There is no one better. Hence, how he's on the team in the first place. Which is also why you don't run three plays to just setup a field goal instead of maybe trying to score.... just maybe.

Basically. And Jerry was a "shield first" type guy so he always let things go for the league.

Maybe. You could make an argument that the dude was shaky after missing the one in regulation. But if it was a normal XP he probably would have got it.

We will regret not taking those first rounders for Burns if true. He just misses so many tackles and sacks and takes the worst angles and I don't think he is going to get any better at that.

The refs were doing all they could to slow down the Panthers and make the game more even. I wasn't surprised at all when they finally find some bogus call to make because these rules are put in place for them to make judgement calls like this..... for reasons. Nothing will ever come of this so don't expect that.

May as well just bring Ron back if we want this type of coach.

Kicker literally just missed a field goal. QB literally just threw a 60 yard dime for a TD. Who do you choose ? Every time this team plays for a field goal we fail.

Literally no one wanted him. We got this guy after our kicker was hurt. Look at previous seasons. He's bad. That's why you don't bank on field goals like you have Justin Tucker. Especially when your QB just saved the game.
