  1. Didnt realise it was behind a paywall. Fowler: I'm hearing the Panthers have four or five candidates they are really high on. One is Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dave Canales, who interviewed Wednesday afternoon in Charlotte. Canales' offense caught fire late in the season, his work with quarterbacks is strong, and he learned under Carroll for 13 years. The word is owner David Tepper is also intrigued by Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken, who is eligible to interview after this week. Evero -- the in-house candidate -- interviewed twice, and Carolina has long targeted Ben Johnson, though I haven't heard much momentum there at this point. He's going to have options. What's funny, Dan, is that new Titans coach Brian Callahan had some traction in Carolina. He was set to interview there Tuesday, so Callahan agreeing to terms with Tennessee on Monday night probably sent waves through Carolina's building. Graziano: Indeed, I had Callahan to the Panthers in the predictions file I wrote last week. But the Titans zeroed in on him early and moved quickly to get him on Monday night while he still had plans to visit Carolina and Atlanta in the ensuing days. Again, the offensive coordinator pool is a shallow one this year, and if the Panthers are focused on an offensive coach and can't get Ben Johnson, Canales could have the inside track at this point. But if newly promoted GM Dan Morgan can convince Tepper to consider candidates other than offensive coordinators, I think the search becomes very interesting. For example, Vrabel is set to interview there Thursday. Surely, Vrabel could help anybody, even though he's not an offensive playcaller. Fowler: Vrabel could be a wild card here. The word is Tepper values leadership big-time -- it's not just about improving the unsightly offense, though that's a key component. Vrabel has been lurking throughout the process and could pop up as a prime candidate somewhere. He would need to work in lockstep with Morgan, and there are questions, fair or not, about Vrabel's ability to do that after Tennessee switched GMs in early 2023 and Vrabel was gone a year later.
  2. Following a similar theme i feel like it won't be Evero. I think they keep him as DC an extra year and get a comp pick for him when someone inevitably makes him a HC down the line.
  3. I wonder how they play it? He's probably top of the list behind Johnson but with Johnson being the hot name and top choice for other teams do they interview Canales and keep him waiting until they see what Johnson does, or bite the bullet and hire him this week knowing Johnson likely goes elsewhere? There's a risk if you make it obvious to Canales that he's the consolation prize that he just stays in Tampa for that extra year of experience.
  4. Washington is the place to go for any of these HC candidates. You'll have your pick of the top QBs in the draft and almost 6 picks in the top 100.
  5. I mean he's under contract and they're within their rights to do it with it being a sideways move, so I don't see the problem.
  6. He's not a name that appears on a list of people interviewing for GM spots around the league, so I don't see why we should give him any serious consideration. Sure it may be unfair associating him with what may not have been his failures, but he's tainted by how bad the team has been. Best thing for him would be a sideways move to be assistant GM on another team and try and build up his rep somewhere else.
  7. Doesn't actually say "meeting". He says he's heard the panthers have reached out to his people.
  8. They're likely going to interview 10-15 people. No point jumping to conclusions about the direction they're looking to go in after a few names.
  9. Brown doesn't deserve another job. What a terrible play caller.
  10. Feel bad for Bryce. Only our trash receivers could ruin a play like that.
  11. How was it 3 first round picks? They swapped 1st round picks and gave them a 1st in the next draft. If you class DJ Moore as worth a 1st it's still only two 1st rounders. I stand by my point that the majority of people wouldn't care about the trade if Stroud was here and had thrown for 4000yds and 21 TDs.
  12. Nothing wrong with the trade really, they just picked the wrong QB. If they had picked Stroud and he played like he has been Chicago wouldn't be getting the no.1 pick and we wouldn't care about what we gave up.
  13. Fans have been permanently banned for similar acts. I bet he doesn't face a similar punishment.
  14. It's better to miss the kick from there than try and force the QB into making a play or taking the sack.
  15. The bigger focus on the run game and Young playing under center a lot more is making the OL better. It should've been this way from day 1. Reich is/was ultimately to blame for that.
  16. I've been fairly patient with him but felt like today he made a ton of bad throws. The deep balls he completely whiffed on towards the end of the first half were REALLY bad. Also a lot behind the receivers. From the armchair it just seems like he doesn't get enough velocity on the ball and the receivers are fractionally (it makes all the difference) further along in their routes when it gets to them. Is this a noodle arm or the fact he had the heebie-jeebies and constantly bouncing on his toes?
  17. I'd seriously take a look at QBs with that 33rd pick depending on how free agency goes and how the draft develops. If they still had their 1st rounder they would without doubt be looking at one of the QBs in the first so I don't see why they shouldn't consider it in the second round.
  18. Do explain how he's at fault for Blackshear falling on his ass and not catching the ball for a 1st down.
