  1. He has one or two reads at best. This being the guy we drafted for this "processing speed". He just does not see the blatantly obvious open receiver ever. Just forces it into his first or second progression.
  2. Well don't worry, I'm sure you'll get plenty more chances.
  3. You made the best point talking about the defense gifting the offense. You know you have a dysfunctional team when your defense gets 3 turnovers in one half and you come away with only 3 inept points. Surely not complimentary football. The defense played more than good enough to win this football game. The first INT by Bryce set the tone for the rest of the game on offense. Such a stupid call by Canalas in that situation. I really believe if we score a TD there, this game may have had a different outcome. What are the chances the Niners stop us there on 3 straight runs? Very bad coaching and very bad situational awareness by Bryce throwing it instead of running to the pylon for the score. Cannot take the TO there. Inexcusable, bad football.
  4. It's called focus factor. Can have all the talent in the world, but if you do not have the smarts for the game and situational awareness that talent gets you nowhere. And it's not just XL, this seems endemic to this whole team.
  5. At the one yard line, first and goal, after your defense gets a turnover and puts you in prime scoring territory, and a momentum changing opportunity. With TWO great running backs, and Dowdle being one of the best RB's in the league this year. It's truly a mind fug.
  6. He could have walked into the end zone on the stupid pass he threw for an INT where momentum was everything. Kid has ZERO situational awareness along with the coach.
  7. Holding a clipboard with a surfer style hairdo, and being on TV while making millions... BRILLIANT!!!
  8. There does seem to be some resiliency with this team. Saw it in the Arizona game. That would lead one to believe that these players believe in the process Canales is trying to convey. That being said, it is a very fickle league, along with the locker room. It's up to these young players to evolve the process! I like what I'm seeing from some of our young players. Handling adversity is also a part of that. That's where the leaders/emerging leaders in the locker room come in. Just keep playing with tenacity!
  9. Very good point. But, to win you still have to have big conversions on 3rd down. There are always parts of the game where your QB 1 is forced to make a play. It's just complimentary football. You're dead on with what Dowdle has done. But, it has helped out Bryce by putting him in less situations where he has to carry the team. We'll see what impact this all has... a lot of variables and a lot of football still to be played.
  10. Interesting that when Canales was at Seattle, that was their recipe for success huh? Ironic? Nahhh, that's how you win in the NFL, by imposing your will up front!
  11. Really good point! Plays right into the "keep pounding" mantra. When this team has been successful over the years it has usually been because of our dominant run game... and defense.
  12. I was paraphrasing, but I believe Dave Canales said something close to this. I personally believe on offense, playmakers are emerging. Bryce is still making mistakes, but he's not letting it get to him and keeps battling, and making plays in crucial moments. On defense, the run D is much improved. But, and we desperately need a consistent pass rush, we could be deadly if we had it. We seem to be loaded at the RB position. Even Etienne looks good! And I'm loving what I'm seeing from Jimmy Horn. I think this kid will end up being something special. What's your take 6 weeks in?
  13. Yeah, there are a lot of people that would GLADLY eat crow if Bryce could turn into some version of say... Drew Brees (just example). I feel like he IS learning the right way. It's baby steps, but that's ok. The kid is 24 years old trying to carry a franchise. That's a hell of a burden. But... if he can find consistent confidence in himself and his teammates, then everyone would love to be wrong. But, you have to win in this league as well
  14. Sorry bro, ALSO, congrats on your new daughter! Where are my manners? So excited that the Panthers just won back to back games that I've lost focus, lol. Seriously though, congratulations bro... nothing more special than that!
  15. I dig the George Carlin picture on your wall!
  16. Damn! We do not take losses THAT hard. Looks like they lost everything, lol
  17. Lol, I JUST texted my girlfriend that I have never been more proud to see the Panthers at .500.
  18. Also because we have linebackers that couldn't start in the XFL, and no pass rush AT ALL. How many sacks do we have through 4 games????
  19. The knives will always come out no matter what. It's what happens when we haven't been successful for years. Winning in this league is all that matters. Now... what's the secret to that?
  20. I don't think most Panthers fans think we really dominated a "good" Falcons team. Most of us saw it for what it was. Nothing to get too excited about, but something to build on. And I mean trap as in the Panthers were playing with a little EXTRA motivation as in "must win" against Atlanta at home. New England game today was similar for them. Trap games don't mean anything to GOOD teams because they can overcome adversity, Panthers cannot. Look... I'm not trying to justify the Panthers poor play. I'm just saying it's going to be a long season if you expected too much coming into this season. I'm also not saying anyone in particular is wrong with their take. I just want to see some progress at some point this year
  21. What exactly is embarrassing about it? What exactly did you expect this year? I'm just reserving my judgement for way later in the season. You know, so we can TRULY see if we've made progress. I mean for Christ's sake, it's the beginning of Canales's second freaking year, four games in. I'm just as sick of losing as you, but we knew going into the season what we had. So why are you so surprised at what is happening? There are still 13 games left to play. Let's see what happens in the long run and stop being so knee jerk. And jerks!
  22. I think in a way this was a trap game. It's so hard to win in this league, every team has talent. New England needed this win the same way Carolina needed a win last week vs Atlanta. Panthers are still looking for their identity, so after the special teams let downs it took the win right out of their sails. They have to have all three phases working to win and keep momentum. New England is a young team as well and they just took advantage of our mistakes. Panthers have to learn to play clean all three phases. There's still a lot of season left. They need playmakers to emerge!! Why is it that when they have these slow starts that so many players drop like flies? They need the leaders for the future of this team to step the eff up and start making plays!! You can't do that on the sidelines. Are they just soft? Or are they just void of talent? At some point you have to hold ALL players accountable too. These players establish and carry on the identity and culture of the team. There is a lot of season left to play. It's time to "keep pounding!". Forget this week, get ready for Miami and just take it day by day, week by week until they find their identity. Would help if they can get some guys back off IR and avoid injury. Time to find out who your leaders truly are!
  23. If Bryce had led them down the field on that GOLDEN opportunity drive and got the TD, then I might hold off on admitting. That was his time to really shine and he just did not look like that guy we saw when he was at Alabama. He just looks intimidated out there. Until he can overcome the nerves of big moments I'm afraid no one will be convinced. At some point he has to show he can perform during the moments it counts the most. And honestly, just overall for 4 quarters
  24. Ironically, matching the entire body of this organization.
