  1. We don't want to admit we made one of the worst trades in NFL history for a sub-Kyle Allen prospect
  2. Drafting Bryce Young is a once-in-a-generation mistake. No other way to put it.
  3. Pretty sure Cam's deep pass to DJ Moore in his five-completion game against the Dolphins was longer than any throw Bryce made this season by at least 20 yards in air yards.
  4. Well, we traded all our offensive talent away, fired an interim head coach that was doing a good job, traded the #1 pick to draft a bust at QB... what else?
  5. The 2009 team had finished really strong and would have made the playoffs probably if Delhomme hadn’t started all year. Matt Moore looked good in the reserve role and there was some hype for Clausen, so there was some hope the 2010 team wasn’t going to be a total dumpster fire.
  6. That 2008 team could have been a legit title contender if Jake's arm held out a month longer. He had been clutch all season, the running game was the best we ever had, Steve and Moose were as dynamic as ever. 2014 was entirely Gettleman being a complete moron and nuking a position (offensive line) for no reason
  7. I'm honestly leaning towards 2023 as being the worst. It's certainly the most unwatchable football team the Panthers have ever fielded.
  8. DJ is only 26 years old and already has 6,500 yards and 29 TDs. At this rate he's gonna be at 10,000 in three years, and he could go way higher.
  9. Foxy never had any desire to play or use him. He was legitimately pretty good at wideout in the CFL, had a solid career there. He could have been Curtis Samuel before Curtis Samuel, really. Have him return kicks, run, receive, pass - so much potential
  10. He actually had a very respectable career in the CFL
  11. Bryce is probably guaranteed a roster spot next year because we’re tanking, but after that nothing is guaranteed. Frankly, his performance was historically bad and it’s unlikely he’ll come back from that
  12. It was probably the worst 400 yard game in NFL history. He threw the ball 61 times and had three picks, we only ran 12 times all day, and we lost by 14. The highlight of his career was probably leading a game-winning drive against Detroit in 2005 after Delhomme had an injury.
  13. Some stats about a truly horrific rookie year: *Bryce Young threw the ball 527 times, the fifth-most of any season in team history, but only threw for 2,877 yards, the 18th-most in a season in team history. He's sandwiched between Chris Weinke's 2001 year (15 games total) and Jake Delhomme's 2006 season (where he only played 13 games). *Young completed 315 passes, the fifth-most in a season, but his yards-per-completion of 5.5 only has two real competitors among full-season Panther starters - Kerry Collins in 1997 (5.6) and Chris Weinke in 2001 (5.4) *Young threw for touchdowns on only 2.1% of his passes (11 total passing TDs). Among full-season starters, he's ahead of only Chris Weinke (2001) at 2.0%. *Young's longest completion was for 47 yards. Among full-season starters, he is tied for the lowest longest completion stat with Weinke. *Young was sacked 62 times, tied for the most in team history with Steve Beuerlein (2000). *Young is the only Panthers QB to start 16 games and not throw for over 3,000 yards. If you include 15-game and 14-game starters, he is one of only three (along with Weinke and Rodney Peete).
  14. The Thomas Brown special, run up the middle in shotgun on third and short
  15. JJ has had like one botched snap in his entire tenure here, he's one of if not the best long snappers in the league
  16. Not having the 1st overall isn't a huge problem, but not having a 1st rounder at all when we desperately need a rebuild is crippling
  17. Otah was extremely good. He was pretty much uniformly regarded as a top 10 position guy when on field his first few years, his only flaw was injuries. Ickey just straight sucks.
  18. Even his first year he was terrible at pass blocking, everyone knew he was bad at it, we picked him anyway
  19. 2021 draft: 1) Jaycee Horn (1st, D) - When he's healthy, he looks pretty good. Unfortunately, he's never healthy, and there were better players taken around him. 2) Brady Christensen (2nd, B) - Unfortunate injury aside, solid player. Should be a good piece next year. 3) Tommy Tremble (3rd, C) - Really average player, looks okay on the whole. JAG. 4) Chubba Hubbard (4th, B) - He's improved every year and should be RB1 next year. Great value for a 4th rounder. 5) Dayvion Nixon (5th, D) - Played in 14 games with no starts and few stats. 6) Keith Taylor (5th, D) - JAG corner that is now on the Chiefs practice squad. 7) Deonte Brown (6th, D-) - Practice squad material. 8 Shi Smith (6th, D+) - JAG receiver that's out of a job. 9) Thomas Fletcher (6th, F-) - Unnecessary long snapper draft pick. Got injured in training camp and never played a game. Why. 10 Phil Hoskins (7th, D) - JAG on another team now Overall grade - C. Decent value in early rounds, but whiffed early and late. 2022 draft: 1) Ickey (1st, F) - A franchise left tackle that can't pass block. We knew this before we drafted him, but still did it anyway. Yikes. 2) Matt Corral (3rd, F-) - Never played a snap in the NFL. 3) Brandon Smith (4th, D-) - Cut after one season. 4) Amare Barro (6th, D) - JAG backup player. 5) Cade Mays (6th, F) - Literally terrible 6) Kalon Barnes (7th, F) - Never played a snap for us, and has no job elsewhere. Overall grade - F. Probably the worst draft class in team history. 2023 draft: 1) Bryce Young (1st, F) - Even if he pans out, the cost was not worth the sacrifice. 2) Jonathan Mingo (2nd, D) - He's looking better the last few weeks, but not the instant impact you expect from a second-rounder. 3) DJ Johnson (3rd, D) - He's still on the team? 4) Chandler Zavala (4th, F) - Oh look, another lineman who can't pass block. 5) Jammie Robinson (5th, C) - He's contributing I guess? Overall grade: F. Life is suffering Fire Scott Fitterer now, there is no excuse
