NFL Notes: Broncos, Browns, Chargers, Cowboys & Patriots Broncos Broncos GM John Elway said that they are still interested in re-signing DT Mitch Unrein. Broncos would like to re-sign TE Jacob Tamme, and will speak to him later today. Elway said the Broncos will pursue safeties and offensive linemen during the second wave of free agency. The Buccaneers officially released DE Michael Johnson on Wednesday just one year after signing him to a five-year, $43.875 million deal with $23 million guaranteed. Johnson becomes one of the best available pass-rushers in free agency following his release and there are already reports of who could be interested in him. Bengals are hoping to bring back Johnson and they could really use defensive line help. However, it looks like they have competition from the Vikings as the Minnesota could emerge as a possible landing spot for Johnson. it’s early in the process and he could take a few days before anything becomes clear. Although, it sounds like he’ll consider the Vikings. “He almost went (to Minnesota) last year.’’ Bengals will be in the mix for Johnson as well. Johnson, 27, recorded 27 tackles, four sacks and two forced fumbles over the course of 14 games for the Buccaneers. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 53 defensive end in a 4-3 system out of 59 qualifying players
