Hunter left auburn for ucf because he didn’t make the roster his freshman season and didn’t like the head coach.

he left UCF for Texas tech because he didn’t like the coaches at UCF, and NIL money.

    thats ominous.

If you’re turning down guys who transferred due to NIL money, you’re not going to have many to choose from.

  2. I would attack it with a hybrid BPA approach. I’m sure most NFL organizations do.

    Create tiered lists of players.

    Generational/HOF potential

    All Pro potential

    Pro Bowl potential

    Average starter potential

    Borderline starter potential

    Depth role player

If you have only one player in the highest tier available, select him as BPA. If you have multiple players to choose from in the highest tier remaining, factor in positional value and team needs.

The following is an abbreviated list of the prospects the Panthers have met with. The complete spreadsheet, including the locations and frequency of known meetings can be found in the spreadsheet linked below:

    Reuben Unije OT UCLA UDFA
    Delby Lemieux IOL Dartmouth UDFA
    Gabe Jacas EDGE Illinois 2nd
    Adam Randall RB Clemson 6th
Jalon Kilgore S South Carolina 4th
Darrell Jackson Jr. DT Florida St. 3rd

Jacob Rodriguez LB Texas Tech 2nd
Ted Hurst WR Georgia St. 3rd
    Caleb Banks DT Florida 1st
Romello Height EDGE Texas Tech 3rd
    Austin Barber OT Florida 4th
    Jalen Huskey S Maryland 6th
Kage Casey OT Boise St. 4th

    Sawyer Robertson QB Baylor 5th
    Kedrick Faulk EDGE Auburn 1st
    Kaleb Elarms-Orr LB TCU 5th

Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like…

1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic)

    2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez

3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey

    4th: CB Daylen Everette

    5th: S Jalen Huskey

    6th: RB Adam Randall

7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose

I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.

  4. To clarify, I’m not saying Bryce has been top 15 to date. I think he will be soon and will remain one for a decade if we continue to surround him with talent and OL support. Last season, his 3rd, was undoubtedly the best core of receivers he’s had for a season, and it featured a rookie and 2nd year UDFA as the top two. It’s coming. We’re building it. Time to arrive soon. Obviously, if he isn’t solidly top 15 over the next 1.5 years, we’ll be looking for a replacement.

List your Top 10 youngish QB’s, including college guys, and include Bryce in there with a straight face.

Josh, Lamar, Drake, Burrow, Mahomes, Jayden, Herbert, CJ, Caleb, Trevor, Love, Purdy, Nix, Hurts, Goff, Baker, Sam, Dak, Mendoza……..

Bryce Young isn’t a top 20 quarterback right now and certainly won’t be top-10 in 10 years.  I sure hope our front office is smarter than that.

You wouldn’t have guys like Trevor or Darnold on this list if you made it a year or two ago. What happened? They matured in the league and know how to successfully operate an offense now. Bryce is approaching that now and we’re actually surrounding him with talent. He’s been better each year. We did him no favors his first two years here, be it terrible coaching or lack of talent.

At the end of the day we were always walking a tightrope with the OL we were amongst the top 3 or 4 paid units in the league even before Icky got hurt. Injuries are very unfortunate but they are going to happen to any team. And besides even if he hadn't gotten hurt we would have given him a contract extension and we would still have the highest paid OL in the league right now. That's why we should have been addressing the OL in the draft more. I hope to see us begin that approach with the upcoming draft.

Have you noticed a change in our competitiveness since we pumped money into our OL?

Bryce Young is still here because of what we invested to select him. Anyone pretending otherwise is living in a fantasy world.

I think Bryce is about to become a top 10-15 QB for the next decade. I also think we’ll sign him to a reasonable deal compared to some of these monster contracts QBs have been crippling franchises with lately. I’ve developed that much confidence in Tillis & Co.

And yet, the Jets didn't even tender him a RFA offer.

Yet another reason I don't love this, if the Jets don't think he's good enough to keep around given their WR needs, then why do we think he is?

RFA tender? Didn’t he get traded on his rookie contract? That wasn’t an option, right?

We drafted 2 EDGE players early in draft last season and now signed another one for $120M in free agency.  With glaring holes all over the roster… Someone fuged up.

3rd round raw, but physically gifted EDGE, needs time to develop? That’s the way it plays out most of the time. It’s pretty rare for a 3rd round EDGE to dominate from day 1 in the NFL.

We lost starting LT, C, RB.  We have no starting safety or LBs.  We are missing #3 WR.  But we spent nearly all of our cap on severely injured EDGE and one of the worst back up QBs in the league.  You can polish that turd all you want but so far this free agency has been a disaster.

Lost a starting LT to injury. Tough break

Lost a very replaceable starting C.

We still have a starting RB and add back a 2nd round pick at the position this year.

LB will obviously be addressed. We’re final three for Lloyd. No need to fret about this on Day 1 of FA.

This top overall free agent EDGE was so “severely injured” that the Eagles, who had eyes on him for much of the year, wanted to resign him.

Only turd that needs polishing is your perspective of your favorite team.

bro, its not his ACL or Achilles or ankles or core tear. its his concussion history.....the one in which he already left football cause.

its super risky when signing a player with a history of back, spine, brain injuries....

I love that he's a top pressure getter, I hope he's able to stay healthy.....that's the deal, huge risk.

You realize we were one of many NFL teams trying to get him signed, right? The Eagles, who know his medicals better than anyone, were desperately trying to resign him. Hope that helps ease your mind.

The Carolina Panthers had a total of 82 hurries last season...Jaelan Phillips had 60…

    • Carolina's 2025 Struggles: The Panthers defense finished "dead last" in total pressures during the 2025 season. The entire team combined for only 82 quarterback hurries.

    • Phillips' 2025 Production: Between his time with the Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles, Phillips recorded 60 hurries individually, ranking him among the top 5 in the NFL for that metric.

-Panthers worst in league in total pressures

-Panthers sign best pressure rate defender available

    -Panthers (some) fans meltdown

I do appreciate the many logical fans (like NcPsa10) who see the common sense approach in this signing. The $ is high, but that’s the going rate for a difference maker these days.

The difference in the nitpicking is would you have to guarantee them $80m. Phillips could be elite but they paid him as if he already is. Huge gamble. I hope it pays off but this could blow up in the Panthers face and leave the defense starving for a pass rush and cash strapped too.

I believe the data points to EDGE defenders hitting their prime right at Phillip’s age.

This guy up late pooing posts over Dan Morgan talking about others whining lol

You gonna throw down over your favorite GM too if anyone dares to say anything that could be perceived as critical? Folks like you used to behave the same way over Scott Fitterer. How'd that work out?????

I’ll gladly admit if/when I’m wrong, but I don’t mind calling out the constant negativity. A select few in here are so consistently pessimistic, you’d think they were trolling fans of rival teams.

We’re young in key areas and won our division. Made the playoffs in Dave & Dans second year getting after it. It seems we’re building it the right way. Just tired of seeing all of the complaining. Find something to get excited about with the franchise. There are plenty of options to choose from at the moment.

Reports are wrong every year. Whoever is mentioned in the media we aren’t getting. Dan is running interference again. My guess:

    Kaden Elliss -LB

    AJ Espenesa-Edge

    Joseph Ossai-Edge

    Greg Gaines-DL

    Mitch Trubisky-QB

    Taylor Rapp- S

    Taylor Decker- T

    Isaiah Likely-TE

    John Metchie- WR

    Kenneth Walker- RB

    Dee Alford- CB

     Ethan Pocic-C

And yes we would have the cap for this if we pull our restructures right.

    I like your dream too
