  1. Somewhat discouraging that JT says he doesn't really know what the answer is to our offensive struggles given what we have. That said, couple of takeaways: 1. Way too many screens. Seems like a Reich tendency and unless it's a creative one and/or it goes to Chark/Shenault, rip it out of the playbook. 2. Coaching staff has to get Young to take more chances. I do suspect they are limiting his opportunities to do so because we have protection issues and lack of playmakers but while interceptions can affect confidence, so does taking a chance and having it pay off. If we are going to lose regardless, go down learning how to swing. 3. Why in the world are we asking Thielen of all people to try double moves? We have maybe two guys on the roster that could make that work. 4. Where are our tight ends in this offense? And no, Ian doesn't qualify as one. 5. Similar to 4, where is DJ? Seems that Thielen is the primary way too many times.
  2. Was retaining Campen a mistake? I'll be honest. I thought pass pro kinda sucked last year considering how we ran at will against some awful run defenses.
  3. Eh, it's been a bitchfest from the beginning. Different names, same verse. Although I kinda miss when we called our DC Turdovac and the mental gymnastics to say Chris Weinke was a legit starter.
  4. Short drive for me but I quite enjoyed going to last year's game, especially on the train ride home where it was whisper quiet. Not going to chance going through the complete opposite experience.
  5. I noticed that we kept using a lot of playclock, a problem we've had in the past. I did note that having our first two games with a bunch of staff/player turnover be against division rivals is far from ideal. Those games are usually much harder and often have performances that are out of the ordinary compared to all the other games. Two games into a season is too early to make dramatic changes but my expectation is that if the offense remains stagnant, I expect that shift in approach. Otherwise, Reich hasn't really learned his lessons from Indy after all.
  6. I don't want to say this is the end for Shaq but it feels that way. Very unfortunate and I hope this isn't a trend for the season, losing key players every week.
  7. Same wish as I had months ago. Panthers win with Bryce Young passing for exactly... 283 yards.
  8. That "sprint" to the finish line was more like tripping and falling into a pile of manure.
  9. Not going to lose any sleep over this. I will wonder if Bill did this purely out of spite.
  10. Panthers receivers not being able to get separation? It's a running gag at this point. Also wouldn't surprise me if DJ Moore eventually comes back to us just like with Moose.
  11. Not even worth my money to buy it so I can burn it.
  12. The implication here is that the Rhule-drafted players aren't the brightest group out there. I'll defer on speculating on that aspect but it's quite common for holdovers from a prior regime to be gettisoned for various reasons. Given Frank's offensive background and drafting a QB with a high football IQ and overall accuracy, I'd be more worried if I was a Rhule drafted offensive player. At the least, they could end up being used in trades or replaced by cuts from other teams.
  13. Young winning with exactly 283 yards passing would be the most proper way to open the season.
  14. 3,300 Yards, 65% completion, 20 TD/14 INT
  15. So we have the player with the fastest "Pen to Paper" time, eh?
  16. It's as though speculation about our first round pick is more chat-worthy than the actual pick itself. As being ambivalent about the whole thing since the beginning, I'm just relieved we can now move on. Let's see how this goes.
  17. ...so when will Rodgers be with the Vikings? Could see him have a resurgent year but even then, tougher division and the likelihood of facing Mahomes, Burrow and Allen in the playoffs? That is a hard ask.
  18. For me, Olive Garden is fancy so I wouldn't even know half the items on the menu.
  19. My position has remained the same: I can't get excited about this year's QB class at all. I want to be wrong that this isn't the 2013 QB class all over again.
  20. Well, the Sam Darnold experience didn't work out but I do feel he'll be fine as a journeyman QB. Assuming he can stay healthy which is unlikely given how jinxed the 49ers QB position has been recently.
  21. Given how the Bengals were able to draft Burrow and then pair him up with Ja'Marr Chase, giving up DJ in the trade in lieu of additional picks seems like a rational move. Receivers are easier to find and if we're really doing our homework, we may even find another good one later in this year's draft. Also, whatever cap savings we get also helps. The big thing for me was giving up only one future 1st rather than multiple. Meanwhile, Fields has another target to throw to although history of receivers going to Chicago to die is well documented. Both sides got something valuable out of the trade. Media is probably a bit miffed that they have to talk about us now instead of Chicago for the next few weeks.
  22. Not going to lie. The news caught me by surprise. If this had happened during the used car salesman's tenure, I would've been panicking. There is still some trepidation on my end because frankly, I don't really care for this year's QB class at all. But if this staff sees a potential future superstar QB that was worth making this move in the first placen, then so be it. Stating the obvious but who we pick and what happens with this player is going to determine whether the Reich era (and likely Fitterer's) will be a short lived one.
