Horn Jr. looked pretty terrible in the opportunities he did get. Lost and indecisive, and for all the talk about his speed and agility he didn’t seem to have the ability to consistently run away from the defense or make players miss. Turns out he was available in the 6th round for a reason. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if he doesn’t make the roster.

That’s what I mean. If you think it can be fixed with another surgery, get him the surgery, give him a red shirt year, and gamble on trying to get 1st round talent by punting on a 3rd round pick.

If you’re a team and you really think Jermod McCoy is a t20 prospect when healthy, you’ve gotta be asking yourself “would I trade this 3rd round pick for a first round pick in next year’s draft?” Every GM would say yes. I’m sure somebody will pull the trigger soon.

Did the Vikings tell us they were gonna take him if we didn’t trade? Only way I can make sense of dropping a whole round of picks in the middle of the draft just to move up 2 spots in the second.

Good grief I like the player but dropping from 159 to 196, 37 picks, just to move up 2 spots in the latter half of the second round seems crazy. We lost a whole round of value.

Seems like there’s about 3-4 LBs in a tier and then a big drop.

Whether you believe him or not is up to you, but I propose that he doesn’t have to freely say those specific things unprompted and nobody would blink if he said things a slightly different way. He could have just said he was a player they had a really high grade on and they were thrilled that he was available at 19, etc., etc., but he offered up, unprompted, “he was the best player on our board…it was an easy pick.” So, assuming that is true, they did go BPA according to their board.
