  1. Boy this is an awful lot of hand wringing over trading away the 4th to last pick in the 4th round.
  2. All my favorite guys got drafted, and none of them by the Panthers lol (except Bryce Young ofc).
  3. Welp, found my least favorite pick of the draft. Really bummed we didn’t take the high upside athletic freak TE at this spot, but hey there’s a reason the Panthers don’t ask me for my input lol.
  4. Kuntz is an athletic freak at TE. Please please pretty please.
  5. Sheesh, just looking at the Swift trade. So since the Lions are dumb and draft a RB with the same skill set as Swift with the 12th overall pick, the Eagles get to pick him up for just a 2025 5th. 2025…jfc. Not to mention they got to the top of the 3rd rd because the Cardinals tampered for Jonathan fuging Gannon, the least desirable of all the coaching hires this off season. There is some bullshit and fugery going on. Too much too good to be true poo happening in one particular team’s favor.
  6. Honestly super pissed at Lions for trading down instead of taking Carter, and then Jets taking McDonald instead of Smith, which allowed the Eagles to just cheat code this draft. You know, when we lost the super bowl, we drafted Vernon fuging Butler. These assholes get 2 of the most talented players in the whole draft. I’m so disgusted.
  7. And our OL is finally in a good place. Amazing what a difference it makes.
  8. Agreed. Should be drafting OL every year. The only position other than QB that effects literally every offensive snap.
  9. Alright! Great to get some more guard depth.
  10. Dang there goes Adebawore. Hoping for Zach Kuntz!
  11. Isn’t Adebawore supposed to be a really good fit for 3-4 DE? I wonder if he’ll be available at 114.
  12. What makes you say that? He was barely getting practice reps. I don’t think he was a Rhule pick. Rhule certainly didn’t treat him like he was. I think Rhule had some power stripped from him prior to the draft and was on the hot seat. Why would Rhule draft a developmental QB in the third when his job was in jeopardy?
  13. The not wanting him because of the sucker punch incident I can actually get behind. He starts off with an uphill battle to prove he’s not that guy in my book.
  14. Totally. Why draft anybody. Let’s just rent everybody in free agency. Could have traded our second for Hopkins instead of drafting Mingo too (not the worst idea tbh).
  15. I don’t know much about the player, but if you look at the trade itself it makes a lot of sense. First, LBs/Edge guys were coming off the board fast. Just a couple picks earlier, Zach Harrison, Marte Mapu, and Byron Young all came off the board in a row. Then a pick after we took Johnson, Diaby came off the board, and just a couple picks later Simpson and Henley came off. It’s fallacious to assume that nobody else was targeting Johnson just because he wasn’t high on the media radar. Did anybody in the media have Marte Mapu going before Trenton Simpson? It’s interesting some people defending the Mingo pick and hating on the Johnson pick because the arguments against both are similar. When Mingo was picked, I was a bit disappointed because it seemed like a reach based on the media boards, so I get it, but ultimately I understand why they made that pick and this one. Both guys have skill sets and athletic profiles that are hard to find in the other players left on the board. If we’re looking for a big dude who can set the edge, contain the run, rush the passer as a 3-4 OLB, and also put his hands in the dirt when needed, there just wasn’t much to choose from in the entirety of the draft. Even if you look at Ojulari at the top of the second, you’re looking at a guy who has question marks around taking on blockers and stopping the run, though the pass rush skills are better. Even the age makes a little bit of sense, for instance I wanted Sanders for the same role, but he would have spent 2 years bulking up to be as big as Johnson is now, and Johnson has already shown he can carry the weight and retain his athleticism. In their presser, Fitt/Reich talked about the four different types of linebackers they need, and Johnson fills a gap there. It’s dangerous to assume that just because the media isn’t as high on a guy (which, btw, there were some who had him ranked close to where we took him), that he will be there at 93 or 114. If they felt the gap was significant between him and the next guy who fit that profile for them, then the smart move is to go get him. As the draft goes on, the differences in big boards increases, I’m just giving the new coaching staff the benefit of the doubt for now. I can’t call them an all star staff up until the draft and immediately turn on them.
  16. I actually liked Simpson depending on the role, but I saw some scouting reports that said he didn’t know wtf he was doing when it came to football. You can tell him to follow a guy around or rush the passer, but ask him to play zone or diagnose a play and good luck. Let’s not pretend he was some flawless prospect, he was drafted near the end of the third round for a reason. With that great of an athletic profile, it’s clear he had some major red flags for every team.
  17. Lol that tweener era was the worst. We brought over that asshat from Indy who wanted to build a whole defense of undersized guys because Dwight Freeney or some dumb poo. Set us back years. Probably part of the reason we overcorrected to draft all the fat asses Gettleman.
  18. Not super familiar with this guy, but seems to fill the role that I wanted Drew Sanders for. Hope he’s a monster for us!
