  1. It’s telling that he’s helped develop both quarterbacks and tight ends. The timing with Hurst’s release, and he’s already familiar with Tremble from his time with ND. Having a dependable tight end would really benefit Bryce.
  2. I really don’t care either way, and I usually keep my thoughts to myself, but if the Canales threads were locked for not being “football related” (and they were in bad taste), isn’t this one pretty much the same? Yes, Tepper has made his mistakes, lots of them, and I’m in no way an apologist, but this is as much or more non-football related as those other threads. Its easy to pile on the owner, but the closed threads were pretty specific in their reasons…..
  3. I don’t get the whole “went need Bellichick” narrative. Post Brady, the Patriots have been 27-34, .443 winning percentage. Throughout his time as coach/personnel manager, he’s made some really head scratching moves. As an additional note, his head coaching stats prior to TB are almost identical, 44-55, 0.458 winning percentage. if BB comes here, everyone better hope he brings along a TB12 type qb. He’s not got a track record of drafting or developing one either…..
  4. NFL Rules Committee leaked report: Excerpt from super secret meeting held at an undisclosed Applebees in Jersey: “Proposed Rule for Defensive Players Rushing the Passer- Rule #15436B.2.1-All defensive players must now count to 3 Mississippi before they can rush the passer, except on obvious passing downs, on which, they must count to 5 Mississippi. Violation of Rule #15436B.2.1 will be assessed 15 yards and the offending player must tie his shoestrings together for the remainder of the game”
  5. No melodrama. Fact is, he’d not played a down since early November, 2009 and was given a a new $36 million contract with $7 million signing bonus (you forgot that part) in late July 2011-nearly 2 years since taking a snap. A lot of the fans were losing their collective minds and calling for Hurney’s head (which was, and always will be SOP with any fanbase when the GM makes a move they don’t like) Fans are fickle and prone to groupthink and easily swayed by confirmation bias. Easy to overlook anything counter to what you perceive and easy to point out anything even remotely matching your POV….real or imagined.
  6. It’s really a crap shoot with these type injuries. One thing is certain, a lot of folks on here wouldn't have kept #58 around after back to back to back ACL tears. if memory serves, he never missed another game due to injury (played in the SB with a broken arm though), and had several more pro bowl seasons. The ones who’d have turned him loose would have missed out on having a solid linebacker…..
  7. I don’t know if it’s been mentioned or not, but I can see why the Bears look so highly upon DJ. With the numbers he has right now, if he’d gotten them all while playing for Chicago, he’d be their number 1 all-time receiving yards leader! Their current leader (Johnny Morris ‘58-‘67) has 5059 to DJ’s 5201. So yea, to them he is elite…..
  8. That sounds like what you’d get from eating the Swedish fermented fish, Surstromming.
  9. Luuuke, I am you Faaather!
  10. His 1500 acre farm in Montgomery County is a pretty damn nice dumpster then. It may not have worked out for him here,, but he had a pretty long and respectable career….
  11. Just remember, George Seifert had a .766 overall winning percentage (best in NFL history) over 8 seasons as head coach prior to joining the Panthers. He was out of coaching a few years, came to us, and ended up going 16-32, .333 with us. Had superstar quarterbacks, 6 NFC West Titles, 2x Super Bowl Champ, the flamed out here. Payton had superstar quarterback, Super Bowl ring, multiple NFC South titles, .631 overall, but was barely .500 post Brees. Now he’s been out a few years. Not saying the same would happen this time around, but several correlations could be drawn…
