Anybody remember when Colin Jones "asked" for his release?
Khyber53 replied to JABANOG's topic in Carolina Panthers
And yet, he's played a lot more pro football than you, right? Lulz -
Good luck to Palardy. The Bills will probably get him a ring before we could have. This off season might see some real talent out there among K and P on the open market. Not sure we need to make big changes but you never know what opportunities arise.

The math required would probably rise Ry'leh and summon Cthulhu. Yeah, that sounds like a Sean Payton and the Saints dick move of all time.

I agree with you on part 1 whole-heartedly. I also agree with you one part 3. It's that part 2 thing that has me worried. I'm beginning to think Tepper may be tired of watching someone else play with his toys.

Olsen joining Davis in return and retirement
Khyber53 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I remember going, "We got who?" when they announced Olsen would be coming here. Talk about a guy finding a home and making his new family proud. Great guy, great player, hope to see him get a gold jacket some day. -
Tedium, pure tedium.
-
He's a good guy, but he never really had the chance to make his mark here thanks to injuries. Minnesota seems to be a better fit.
-
Tepper is a trophy guy. Trophy franchise. Trophy house. Trophy wife. He buys those things with the success he's had elsewhere. And that's understandable, it's kind of how it is done (from what I've seen). I believe now he's trying to buy a trophy QB in Watson thinking that will also buy a Lombardi trophy. That (from everything I've seen) can't be done. The Bucs didn't even do it with Brady, they had the foundations solidly in place including coaching and depth and defense before Brady was out there for the asking. Brady saw that, the tools he had to work with and who he could bring in.

It's going to be hog-killing day around the league. There's going to be a lot of blood letting. And if you're sitting there with a fair chunk of change in your pockets, you can pick up some good building blocks cheap. Hopefully, Tepper is wise enough to make the most of this rather than just keep all that money in a pile in an effort to blow it on one big star.

#1 at chasing a crack pipe dream is still just disappointment or disaster waiting to happen.

I'm beginning to think the owner of the team doesn't know poo about football.

Please, stop. The trade for Watson crap just keeps getting more and more ludicrous. Let it go and move on. If we went through everything everyone has suggested AND somehow managed to talk both Houston and Watson into moving here, not only would we have a major hit to the old salary cap, but new contract in a couple of years and a QB who has the entire organization by the short and curlies. Getting him could potentially nullify both the new GM and the head coach, not to mention any other players of note that somehow remained untraded. This is actually beginning to get pathetic.

You can wish me luck or celebrate my demise here
Khyber53 replied to cookinwithgas's topic in Huddle Lounge
So sorry I didn't see your post until now. Sounds like a rough, rough time and I hope things have smoothed out for you. Prayers sent up for you. -
Sadly, the outrage over such an incident (if it happened and if the video is re-released) may be even bigger than the protests over police brutality on human beings. If they don't end up showing it, you can bet that whoever leaked it to them will leak it to a bigger network entity. This won't go well. And it shouldn't. Still, watch and see who was against BLM and now suddenly wants a police officer to be pilloried.

Sheesh, just offer the Jags four #1s and Teddy Bridgewater for their pick. At this point, what's the harm. If you are going to trade away the future, might as well get the pick of the litter.

You're right. Bad research on my part.

You're right. Bad research on my part. Texas has zero income tax.
-
Wow, you're right. I looked it up quickly before and did not notice it was referencing sales tax instead of income tax. My bad and I stand corrected. In that case, wow, talk about wanting to get the hell out of town.

NBC's Peter King wont be suprised if Mac Jones goes ahead of Lance
Khyber53 replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Mac Jones will get someone a Lombardi. You build a good, solid team and he'll win a ton of games. -
State income tax bracket is 4.5% at his level of income. Texas can be 8.25%. I can see Arizona being more lucrative and attractive to players. Of course, the Titans and Jaguars both sit in states with zero state income tax... (As do the Buccaneers, as Mr. Brady's accountants surely knew).
-
Seems he's pretty active in free agency and has a bad history with the draft. That could point to an inability to evaluate college talent effectively and instead finds it easier to try and trade for name players hoping to make a hit there... the Percy Harvin deal for example. If this is the case, then we should be very worried.

Good chance Cam will be Patriots starter in 2021
Khyber53 replied to Ja Rhule's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we don't take Jones in the 1st, then Belichick will grab him with his pick. Cam may well be the starter in 2021 to begin the season, but won't be for long after that. -
Development of guys like those listed is supposed to be Rhule's bread and butter. I hope to see it this season. Growing the team organically inhouse is going to make something special that will last. Good coaching in the midst of the wildstorm of egos that can come up has ruined many teams -- the few coaches that can weather that AND develop their undercard rosters get dynasties.
-
Never jump into deepwater drama, no matter what the reward might seem to be. Just take the time to better survey what is out there and what you really need.
-
Math-wise, yeah, that is true. But they fill up two roster spots for no real value. Grier hasn't actually had to wear cleats on game day for some time and Thomas played like he still had his slippers on as well. It may cost more money to replace them, but two guys who are willing and able to be on special teams could use their spots. Let 'em roll and find new homes, bring in some UDFA for their spots.
