  1. He was actually a basketball player for most of his childhood. Went to football in HS and only played one full season as a QB. Played some spot duty due to injury as a sophomore. So we are talking about the equivalent of a middle school or early HS player in terms of total experience versus most prospects.
  2. He also had a couple of INT's dropped in the game. His run this year shows that he has improved but he is still a backup caliber QB. One that really can't be trusted to do much more than manage a game with a light workload. The more he throws, the greater the odds of him making a lot of mistakes. He's just very, very limited in his processing abilities. It's been discussed at length here but keep in mind he has very little background as a QB. His learning curve was already going to be much steeper than almost any other prospect.
  3. Well most of the QB desperate teams are picking in positions to be able to get one through the draft. It's really mainly the Colts, Texans, Raiders and Seahawks. 3 of those teams have better options for starters on the roster now and all of them pick in the top 8. Not to mention he wouldn't be in the top 10 free agent QB's(some of which are likely to resign with their teams) in 2023. That is basically the recipe for being a backup QB. His only chance at starting is likely here.
  4. Eh.....strike while the iron is hot but I get what you mean. Probably one of those loose lips situations. I doubt this was supposed to be for public consumption. Also shows that Wilks is merely a consideration and not the guy.
  5. Lol. There are no NFL teams that desperate. There is no 2021 Panthers equivalent this offseason.
  6. Sounds like this was Tepper calling Jim, so the interest is pretty obvious.
  7. That doesn't matter much as a backup. You come in only if the starter gets injured anyway.
  8. I am pretty sure Harbaugh would mean he's on the street. The closest thing he had to Darnold was Blaine Gabbert as a backup in 2014. We will see what the market is for Sam. I suspect he isn't going to be quickly scooped up as a backup option.
  9. I assume he also checked sources and didn't just spray that out there without doing that. Well, that is what journalists USED to do.
  10. The difference is that most coaches have guys that they are familiar with they can get from the free agent pool. Sam isn't going to be a hot commodity on the free agent backup QB market. We will see but I would be very surprised if he goes quickly or for very much money.
  11. Yeah, that means they are hearing the same thing.
  12. There is almost no chance that any new coach is going to be interested in re-signing Sam Darnold. The only one that might is basically Wilks.
  13. Play our cards right and we might get a couple of free drinks and a ride on Jim's D. Gotta be careful though, that whore the Broncos is over there in that low cut top with her tits all spilling out.
  14. I mean.....cross that bridge when it comes. I don't think you will struggle to get those interviews filled. Even if it's a sham, it's an excellent opportunity to go through the process for the candidates and potentially make an impression. Definitely can lead to future opportunities if you treat it that way. Obviously if you are a guy that is a former head coach or have other opportunities to be a head coach, it might get declined.
  15. Yeah, possibly so. I do like the idea of having two elite CB's, though. Parsons across from Burns would be fuging insane too.
  16. This went from making eyes across the bar to making out pretty quickly.
  17. Quick, someone Photoshop Sam and PJ'S head on those.
  18. I definitely don't like all that getting leaked. Burns and his agent are going to fuging rape us on that deal. Or, even worse, we can't come to an agreement and he ends up eventually getting away. I think we will all be salty about that.
  19. Yeah, Bradberry and Horn as bookends would be fuging bananas.
  20. Yeah, I am willing to give Fitterer a chance but if it comes down to a top coaching candidate wanting a change there......sorry 'bout your luck Fitty.
  21. That's actually older. I am guessing that was the situation that got Tepper to call him.
  22. Maybe. It depends on how it shakes out. Sometimes that QB rush doesn't materialize and the order gets strange pretty quickly or a rash of trade ups with throw everything off. I think we should be able to get a good talent but it may not be in a position that is necessarily worth a top 9 pick. 8-9 is kind of tough sometimes if the top 10 talent is a little thin in high value positions. Seems like this is DL and WR heavy. Both of which we could use.
