UDFA's are almost always fools gold. 99% of these players will never play meaningful downs of NFL football.

I said that 2021 seemed to be very, very heavy on building roster depth and very, very light on starting caliber players. That seems to indeed be the case after a limited sample. With such a bad roster, that just doesn't make sense to me. Instead they rely on guys like Elflein, Erving, etc. to come in and start. Hence why as much as I think the free agent signings we made this offseason seemed better, I need to see these guys play. Our offseason in 2021 was DREADFUL. One of the worst we have ever had. I just can't give benefit of the doubt to the Panthers anymore. These players need to prove these were good signings.

Yeah, I am not impressed with our ability to evaluate talent at all. We seem to be able to hit on top 10 picks but even Hurney crushed that. I just don't think I fundamentally agree with Fitterer's philosophy about building through the draft. He is from the school of thought that you want to take as many shots as you can and hope you hit a few. I want to take the best shots possible and hit higher percentages. We will see. It's better for him to be right because me being right means I waste more and more money and time on this team.

Actually, if you take into account what we traded for, it's probably an F grade.

We definitely disagree on 2021. Time will tell. My growing suspicion is that we don't have people that are very good at talent evaluation. Those trade value charts look good on spreadsheets but they don't win on Sundays. Hence our records.

It's probably a C/D-ish grade for me. Basically Ikey and Corral. Highly unlikely any of those other guys will be Panthers in 4 years. Ikey I feel good about and Corral is a decent gamble that we overpaid for. That puts the pressure on Corral to pan out, which I don't like. Bare minimum he should be a day one upgrade from Walker. Definitely felt like a Hurney draft.

He'll probably start at LT.

I will be curious to see if Rhule gives Corral a fair shake. I suspect he was the guy wanting to push for Baker Mayfield, so I think maybe Rhule not getting his way could create a little bit of a strain.

If we take another QB in the draft, I will lose my poo. If Howell(or Strong) is available where our 4th rounder was, I will also lose my poo.

TBH, any player we pick is just likely to get cut or be a roster filler, so I don't have any preferences.

No. It's a smart move in that scenario. But that is also a rare occurrence. I don't have an issue with taking a QB. I have an issue with trading the 2023 3rd.

Our third is likely to be a top 5-10 in the 2023 draft. Why trade that? Why? For Corral? Is he better than Howell? Is he better than Strong? Is he better enough to be a starting QB in the NFL? If the answer to a single one of those questions is no, then it is a dumb trade. Just fuging wait or trade a goddamn 4th for another 4th. Don't let go of 1st-3rd round draft picks. That is the meat of the draft.

We finally make one smart move on a draft pick(taking a LT at 6) and then you follow it up with this ignorant poo. I guess it's my fault for thinking they would magically be smarter than they have proven to be.
