Keep him at safety. Let him develop there. Moving him into the box can happen anytime.

Panthers terminating Rock Hill project agreements
kungfoodude replied to Dorian Gray's topic in Carolina Panthers
They already spent significant money on the site, so I don't know why they would intentionally tank it. I still believe this is just attempting to get a better deal for themselves from the local governments. -
Why sign a QB that doesn't want to be here?
kungfoodude replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
Don't underestimate us doing something ignorant like signing him to a longer term deal after trading for him. -

I lived in Columbia for a few months during the time we were actually good. Had to usually ask at a sports bar to have the game turned on. -

Fair. I think the biggest hole was dug by keeping Rhule. -
Panthers meet with Sam Howell
kungfoodude replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
We were already clearly shot in the last 5-6 games and yet we didn't put them out to do real evaluations. Now, in fairness.....given how much they DID play and did practice, these dolts should know by now if they have anything to work with at all. This shouldn't take much more evaluation than what they have had. -

It is quite literally blind at this point. -

You do realize he has stunk under four different OC's now, right? -
But he did write the article linked in this thread.

I am amazed that anyone can still believe in Darnold. I doubt even the majority of his family truly believe he can be successful in the NFL anymore. -

Darnold is mainly preferable because of the potential to tank so badly that we might have a great draft pick in 2023. Plus, that should assure Rhule is done. The reality is that Rhule knows he cannot head into the season with Darnold as QB. He's a shyster but he isn't truly an idiot. I think if we take an OT at 6, you can bank on a trade for a QB happening after the draft. -

Yeah, he has been banged up. I am not against trading for him, especially with just one year left on his deal. I am sure we will fug it up and give up way too much draft capital or sign him to a big extension before he ever plays a snap. Actually, probably both. -

I think he'll be better. Better enough to matter will be the real question. -
Panthers meet with Sam Howell
kungfoodude replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
I see I triggered you. I could care less what university the players attended when they get to the NFL. I care about winning games as a Panther. Sam Howell will not be a player who is capable of winning games for us(nor will almost any of these 2022 class QB's). The options that would have helped us have all opted to go elsewhere the past couple of offseasons. You want solutions? Sure. Fire Matt Rhule and hire a staff that won't alienate quality fee agents and have a fuging clue how to evaluate QB talent. There is your solution. -
Daley is a 6th rounder. He has definitely overplayed his draft position, although he is backup caliber only.

Panthers meet with Sam Howell
kungfoodude replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't disagree that Trask was a bad prospect. Outside of simply looking like an NFL QB, I didn't see much of anything indicating he would ever be anything more than a roster filler. That doesn't mean most of these QB's aren't also bad prospects. Especially Willis, Howell, Ridder, etc. There is not much there that shows a greater than average CHANCE at being a successful NFL player. But, QB's are something to gamble on so all these guys will get overdrafted. Happens every year. -

But Kyle Trask was not a 2nd round prospect. That was probably @rippadonn making that decision. -

All these QB's are, at best, 3rd round draft picks(Corral, Pickett). The bulk are 4th to 7th rounders. -
If you haven't listened to the latest 4 Man Rush Podcast with Joe Person, you should. It will immediately remove him from anything regarding evaluation of talent or playing ability. He quite literally talks about how he doesn't know poo.

Murray is a good QB but if he claims he doesn't need to watch film, he will never be a great QB. Ever. The NFL is all about working to be the best at what you do. Almost everyone in the NFL is talented. It's all about working to get better and better.

I kind of figured this would be a UNC Homer circle jerk. I am not sure which are more insufferable, the UNC homers or the Clemson homers. Both completely incapable of seeing their players flaws when it comes to NFL evaluations.
