  1. It might actually be harder to fail as badly as they have than it is to be simply mediocre.
  2. Did you not read the "Huddle consensus" part of this theory? That's the point. Huddle consenus has been DRAMATICALLY better than the actual Panthers Front Office for years now. Think about that.
  3. Fitterer put the Hurney vs. Gettleman discussion so far in the rear view that argument should never come up again. Fitterer was steadily climbing to a Matt Millen level of suckitude.
  4. You are thinking we would run this like Tepper's boys do.
  5. It would be less of a mess than this organization has fielded under Tepper.
  6. There aren't a lot of quality backup QB's available and none at this price. The QB FA market is a bunch of nothings and guys that will be getting paid for than Bryce. What we need is someone like Dalton that can be a decent backup QB and also a good mentor for Bryce. I saw someone mention Fields. I couldn't possibly think of many worse options. Not as cheap(probably) and one of the worst #2 QB's in the NFL, outside doing a good Taysom Hill impression.
  7. The thing that makes me nervous about him is he seems to have invested very heavily into this online/media redneck persona versus seeing work. Now, that is obviously a perception versus reality thing but remember how impressed all of us were at the kind of workouts that Horn was doing in his first couple of seasons. He seemed to really, really pine for greatness and be a sponge for information. Now, could you possibly attribute some of his injuries to working out too much(see McCaffery, Christian)? Maybe. I am worried, and maybe unfairly so, that the bulk of the output we see for XL is somewhere between brand building and goofing off. Hence why I am worried maybe he just isn't putting in the work. TBH, his college career has ample evidence for this theory. We will see how it all shakes out. If we don't see much improvement over 2025, I think I will have all I need to make my judgement on the direction.
  8. Yeah, and those are great but you have to hit on your drafted players ultimately. The hit in the UDFA ranks are just such a small pool that you are basically always chasing outlier statistics to attempt to win. That just isn't a successful model.
  9. Ewers may very well end up as a Day 3 guy. Dart was okay at the Senior Bowl and Milroe was bad. This is the weakest QB draft since 2022.
  10. Yeah, it is very possible the next QB taken after Ward/Sanders is the 3rd round.
  11. Lol. I mean, I don't think we have a choice on the time given. I just saw nothing that made me think this is headed for success. We will see. He needs to really come out and show some very improved hands.
  12. It's infuriating. A bunch of amateurs better than a multi-billion dollar organization.
  13. Yeah, I mean....I don't really think we have a clear idea of the track record for development for these guys yet.
  14. Mingo is gonna be out of the NFL in about a season. This is sort of the issue with us. I mean, we have seen what a top 15 WR looks like recently. Is there anything that all about XL that reminds you of DJ as a rookie? Not me. Not at all.
  15. Yeah, it was objectively not a good year by just about any measure. Look, I wish it was different, that's for fuging sure. But, he is who he is and you might as well steel yourself for the likelihood that this doesn't appreciably get better.
  16. https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/stats?category=receiving&sort=rec_drops&season=2024&seasonType=reg&sortOrder=desc He was tied for 2nd among rookies and was tied for 13th in the NFL. 7 of the guys before ahead of him had even less targets.
  17. Did he not lead all rookies in drops, as well? I get looking at the bright side but there wasn't much bright about XL's year aside from him definitely being better as a route runner than expected.
  18. Probably because he didn't really appear to have above middling college football player's ability to track and catch the ball. Also, if he was REALLY that dinged up, take every South Carolina player off the board for the foreseeable future. IDK WTF they are doing down there but I don't want anymore glass players.
  19. I think the story for Brooks as a Panther has already been written. So with a 2nd round pick, we have a guy that will likely leave the team with less than a season of games total played. XL could turn it around but I suspect his sophomore year is gonna be pretty rough. That is usually the time players often struggle, even after they popped as a rookie. We have seen this over and over. If this trend goes forward and especially if Wallace doesn't become a league average starter, that draft is every bit as bad as the worst Fitterer drafts. I really, really, REALLY hated that draft at the time(minus Sanders) and unfortunately it isn't looking very good to date. I hope we turn it around this time but, TBH, I see the seeds of failure with the way our draft is currently set up. 8th is prime for a bad reach and then we don’t pick until 57. If we are smart(outside of a real elite guy dropping to 8), we maneuver to get 3 picks in the top 60.
  20. Hunter, McMillian, Johnson. Maybe Graham, not 100% sold on him as a top 10 elite guy yet. Literally that is it so far. Maybe someone really makes a rise but I rather doubt it. Hence why I am on team trade down if we get pick up another 2nd and some 3rd/4th round picks. I am convinced the best move for us is trading down and that is even considering that our front office is overwhelmingly the worst in the NFL.
  21. I still think we should have kept Fitterer rather than fire him. Ask him his top 2 guys on the board every round and immediately remove them from our board entirely.
