You are saying what I am saying, BTW. Those were all Raider sources and nothing close to Johnson. That was always my argument about that fake narrative.
-
I never read anything saying he was "impressed." IMO, you basically read all the "Raiders sources" and took them at face value.
-
Trust me, there isn't the ability to be self aware because the combined New England fanbase is cumulatively about 200 IQ points.
-
I mean, potential bust versus literally zero QB? Lol
-
But that is what I always said. Brady isn't remotely a draw.
-
It isn't debatable. The Bears have a substantially better roster, they have a potentially franchise QB on a rookie deal and a not idiot owner. Those are all advantages over Vegas. Literally the only "media" advantage was Brady as part owner but being a great player may have nothing to do with that. See Jordan, Michael.

But it is the best situation.

The Raiders always seemed like a insane long shot. I mean....what was the draw?
-
But value IS the core of the argument. RB's represent some of the worst wins/position in the draft. I am not saying that it is insane to take a RB high in the draft but your needs basically need to align with that. Ultimately, in the first two rounds, it is a luxury pick. You basically already have a great roster.

You were saying?

It was the best job of this cycle. Stacked roster, not a complete idiot of an owner and has a potential QB ON A ROOKIE DEAL. This was such a no-brainer. Plus the Bears GM isn't an idiot like most of the openings.
-
But did they significantly outpace the guys in the 3rd round or later? The only one in recent memory to do that is Henry. Furthermore, not a single one of those guys has sniffed a championship. That's really more the point. The track record of top RB's or top PAID RB's getting to championships is quite bad. There is a reason for that.
-
@Mr. Scot I told you. This was the only job that really made sense.

True. The infuriating thing is he is such a talented player that you want to find a way to use him effectively. -

Maybe but the pendulum is starting to swing a little towards more rushing based attacks(typical cyclical NFL). In that world he doesn't fit at LB unless he bulks up quite a bit. He isn't that different than someone like Isaiah Simmons in terms of being a guy that is hard to find a spot to be successful in. -

The bad part is that you see how good Becton has been with the switch to OG. Had we been a little more forward thinking, perhaps you don't spend mega bucks on the OG's and move Ikey inside once you get a good LT replacement. Ikey has the capability to be a solid LT but possibly All Pro OG. -

I think the truth is, as hard as it is for Panthers fans to accept, he is a very scheme specific guy with a limited ceiling. With our current DC, he doesn't fit at all. Take that as you will, as I think everyone should have ample questions about how Evero utilizes talent.
