NC's process for misdemeanor appeals is unusual in my opinion.
-
I think the judge found Hardy guilty because he is guilty. Further, innocent people don't pay off witnesses. I don't practice in NC and the appeals process for Hardy's conviction is rather unusual. De novo is just a standard of review and doesn't erase a guilty verdict.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I see where you are coming from. Since I work in the legal field I have a different perspective than most and I understand how difficult it is to get a conviction and judges are super smart people.
-
Fair perspective but I trust a guilty conviction from a judge over the Huddle. None of us have seen all the court documents, pics, etc. and the people that have (judge and NFL to an extent) seem to think what Hardy did was bad. Also, don't think for a second that the Panthers didn't see the same information. I'll never understand why anyone defends a player just because he is famous and has God gifted athleticism. As I've said many times, once I heard "alcohol, drugs, and assault riffles out in the open" Hardy lost the benefit of doubt.

The NFL was allowed to see the court exhibits that contained pictures of Holder's injuries that have not been released to the public. Seems these pics must have been bad. http://espn.go.com/espnw/news-commentary/article/12745022/how-nfl-roger-goodell-got-right-greg-hardy-suspension

According to ESPN, the court docs reflect that Hardy called after Nicole and her friend called 911 and the judge thought Hardy's call was an attempted cover up.

This thread is sad. I can't imagine why anyone would defend someone that beat a women. If Hardy wasn't famous and rich, he would almost certainly be in jail right now versus complaining about a 10 game suspension that still allows him to make $5 million.

We just let Hardy go bc of domestic abuse and there is a 0% chance we draft this guy and take on another one.

FOX's Peter Schrager: "I expect Carolina to take a WR in the 1st R"

Let's turn this into a Hardy thread. -
I think they are funny. If you don't like them, just don't log on tomorrow.
-
He's a OL starter in the NFL the Panthers essentially got for nothing. Can't imagine why anyone has an issue with this.

Significant upgrade over Cotchery. Jennings had a rookie QB last year that didn't come into his own until the 2nd half of the season.
-
I wonder what the going rate is for Jennings?

Well said and some people just don't get it. I'd love to keep Hardy, but I'd never make him a franchise player.

The reason Cam isn't in a hurry to sign a contract
jtm replied to GoobyPls's topic in Carolina Panthers
Cam isn't going anywhere and I quit worrying about this years ago. -
I doubt he makes the team this year unless he improves his special teams play.
-
I hope this is our back up.
-
The Panthers letting him go tells me that they weren't thrilled with his behavior after the incident rather than the incident itself.

D Will says Panthers didn't reach out to him when his mother died
jtm replied to QCkilla's topic in Carolina Panthers
If true pretty poor by the Panthers and very surprising. I can assure you there is more to this and we as fans will never hear. Timing is poor and classless by DW. He was one of my favorite players but his attitude this past two years has been tiring. -
Welcome back Ginn....

Because guys get cut and brought back all the time...especially guys that are well liked in the locker room. I have no problem w Bell as a back-up RT.
