Canes resign Eric Robinson 4 year 1.7mil AAV
Rocky Davis replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Now get Roslovic done and start shopping for scoring, size, and a little more sandpaper. -
I believe Granlund could be a good fit here in Carolina. Speedy, skilled center who played the same up tempo game the Canes played in Dallas. He won't break the bank either. It's a weak FA class overall when TDA is listed as a Top 50 FA.....or that list just sucks.

Eastern Conference 2nd Round Winner Pie
Rocky Davis replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
I wasn't under the impression Williams was coaching the power play. Is he? Has that been reported as fact? -
Maurice coached RBA for years, he knows him well. RBA needs some different voices around him.

@PantherChrisgrow the fug up. We read you whine and bitch about so much all the time, let someone have their own take on things instead of being a petulant child. -
Florida is the only team that would be doing that to us, and it happens when we are down Chatty, Walker isn't 100% and our top players are being molested in plain view on the ice. Florida is bigger and just as fast as we are, they have the two biggest agitating arseholes in the NHL in Marchand and Tkachuk, have a solid coach and a lot of nice pieces that make that team the best in the East by a good margin this year and possibly back to back Cup champions. I fail to mention Zito who has been aggressive in getting Marchand and Seth Jones plus other players at the deadline to fill in any weaknesses. We have taken the long term, we have a shot every year approach and keep coming up short. This is the summer to come away with the last needed pieces and if that takes sacrificing some prospects and picks we have to do it. We have Freddie who is a very good goalie, but I still think young Kooch needs more time - he shows flashes but he still isn't right between the ears yet. This is definitely it for Orlov, not sure about Burns although he has looked it the last half of the season. It would be nice to be able to get rid of KK somehow. Svech has never become the guy I thought he'd be so a pure scorer would be nice. I still like where this organization is EVEN with RBA coaching. Do we discredit everything the guy has done in years where we weren't supposed to make the playoffs let alone win some series etc?? We need a bit more size, but I like we added Walker, Carrier, and Robinson who all had some good experience and didn't mind showing some grit. Who's Back: Forwards: Aho, Svech, Jarvy, Blake, Hall, Carrier, Staal, Marty, Stankoven (need to sign to a bridge at least), KK (really need to trade him this summer or next year for sure, his NMC kicks in 26-27) Defensemen: Slavin, Walker, Chatty, Ghost, Nikishin, Morrow Goalies: Freddy, Koochy Potential: Forwards: Nadeau (he was like a -20 in Chicago so he'll have to really earn Rod's trust), Robidas, FUS didn't have a great season, Bring back Roslovic?, Jost for cheap?? Defensemen: Technically Nikishin and Morrow, but I have them replacing Orlov and Burns above, Honka, Probably will sign one who plays good D and doesn't break the bank Goalies: Khazheyev?, Sign one possibly?? tl;dr: Bottom line is we are definitely going to need to sign a Defenseman or two, and 2-3 Forwards with 2 being scorers and hopefully taller than 6'0". We have really good depth at forward, we are thinning out at D, and our goalies.....I am just not sure.

I am still not really a fan of bashing your team when they have OVERACHIEVED this season. Before the season started I think most of us would agree that we would be surprised and pretty happy with an ECF appearance (and even though the Big Lady is warming up, it's not done till she hits that first note). This team took us further than I would have ever thought, I even had expectations of us possibly missing the playoffs so hats off to our guys. Florida is a solid team and got much better at the trade deadline, we didn't although I'd say losing pouty ass Ratanen was a win. -
I fully believe Nikishin is more than capable, but there is something to be said for team chemistry and NHL playoff experience. I mean if the decision was made to sit Burns, we have the ideal guy to pair with Nikishin as well in Slavin so there's that. Since we are talking about Burnsy, does he go one more year or retire?
-
Glad to hear that Forslund got a side gig in Russia! Hey, hey whadya say Bears!!!!
-
I agree that playing with Slavin makes any defenseman look better and have better stats, but I still stand by the fact you don't even think about plugging in an AHL d-man for someone who has played the entire year during the playoffs unless it is due to injury. I am looking at this year's run as a bonus because I did not think that the Canes would win a series in the playoffs. Knocking NJ out and hopefully the Crapitals is gravy!
-
Ok, so you don't have a serious answer. I am just trying to point out you can't just get pissed off and say off the wall things when there isn't a better option that won't help the team's chemistry. I am sure Burnsy knows he played like hot garbage last night and RBA might have even told him, not that a vet that's played as long as he has needs to know that. Anyways, y'all carry on with the knee jerk shizz.
-
and you think bringing in who to play while he sits is a better idea?
-
@Panthers Fan 69 I love your passion, but I am really glad you aren't the coach of the Canes. You have some real knee jerk reactions to single games by our guys. They are human too bro, calm down and let's just keep the faith brother! Let's Go Canes!!!
-
That second round pick from last year. Sheesh
Rocky Davis replied to Panthero's topic in Carolina Panthers
I hope he Thomas Davis's the fug outta that knee and proves us all wrong. -
I wouldn't be surprised to Nadeau and FUS both up depending on what Staal decides (which I think he has at least another season in him). I think next year is make or break for Suzuki.
-
Old Stanky fits on the Canes better than he did on Dallas. He'll get more time and can possibly have a 2C ceiling if he keeps getting better/gets confidence. He has a coach that can give him the confidence.
-
Correction: he had a woman who didn't want to be here, and Mikko likes the poon ATM.
-
Yeah, whatever happened to "team before self?" I'd rather have Cups, but more and more these guys want the $$$ and to win the championships. Mikko won't find it with Dallas this year, he found it with the Avs because they had Makar on a rookie contract. Anyways, I love the Canes...nothing changes that and despite the hate RBA gets I'd rather have him on our bench than basically all but 2 other current NHL coaches.
-
This. Drury was out the door after this season and Necas was out after next year. Fug Mikko, Guentzel, and any other pansy assed beatch that don't wanna play for a very good team and coach.
-
Taylor Hall best part of the trade, he's at least a PROFESSIONAL about things.

Canes vs Ducks 5pm Eric Staal Game
Rocky Davis replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
A bit of irony as that's how E. Staal's Hurricanes career ended......
