  1. I don't think they told Brady we traded Bridgewater and replaced him with a guy who can throw the ball farther than 20 yards down field.
  2. I swear these refs better start throw some flags for holding....Jets O-line holding on for dear life.
  3. I think Horn will do it willingly, the young man wants to be out there and make a difference.
  4. Last time I checked 21 minus 10 is 11....so weeeee man.
  5. Panthers 12 Jets 6 Panthers get a safety early, a TD pass from Darnold to CMC, and a field goal by Santoso. Jets get two field goals.
  6. I think the Jets fan was probably thinking about this: Panthers potential 2021 free agent targets: DT Shelby Harris Shelby may have been a target, but he didn't land here....but I hope the Jets coaches are keying on that imaginary match up like their fans are.
  7. Well this is certainly a way to address the kick returning situation. He's a rookie and I'm not going to lie ball security scares the crap out of me, both kick and punt returning. Let's hope Chuba does well. I don't recall him doing any kick returning during the preseason....did he? Question remains who does the punt returning?
  8. Zack's initial statement could be put a lot better. The COVID vaccine does change poo in certain ways: you are way less likely to get what I suppose is termed the Alpha variant, but you aren't completely immune to COVID and it's variants that are now out there. Yes, being vaccinated likely means you won't get as sick with COVID in any of it's forms, but there is no guarantee that someone who is vaccinated can't get very sick. Is it best to be vaccinated? Yes. Does being vaccinated protect you from COVID completely? No. Are there a lot of people who could be helping things in the US by getting vaccinated? Yes. Will this change the ultimate course of this endemic? Most likely not due to the fact that a majority of the world will not be vaccinated in a timely fashion to shut COVID variants down. COVID is endemic, there will be many variants and we as a human race have to accept the fact that we failed miserably to contain it. Hopefully this is a lesson the world can learn from and be prepared for a global response next time......of course we need a good 10-20 years after we get COVID under control to implement any sort of plan and world leadership that is competent enough to do it. Even then you'll have anti-vaxxers who buck the system and ultimately although I am pro-vaccination I agree that it is their body. Zack's statement, although very poorly written, has validity and I wouldn't ban him for it but ask that he elaborate why "the COVID vaccine doesn't change poo." If they can't articulate why then ban them.
  9. I don't know why ESPN publishes this crap. I suppose the Jacksonville fans loved it since Trevor is going to lead them to the playoffs, the Seahawk fans are like "we're going 0-9 to start the season," and the Bill fans are jumping through tables for that Super Bowl they are winning this season....... Why do we even play the games when people get so thrilled by these projections. We can "play" football year round this way.
  10. I feel bad that it didn't work out for Gardiner, but I just don't see him ever being a meaningful NHL player again. As for the Canes having as good a chance as anyone this year, I agree theoretically but I will say that Tampa Bay is still very formidable, Florida got a lot better, and Colorado is going to be strong out west. This team will need to gel quickly if we are honestly a Cup contender. We can't have struggles from players we are counting on....we are skating on thin ice with regards to team chemistry.
  11. I do hope we already have a gentleman's agreement on an extension though. A $6.1M QO would really suck for us if he plays well!
  12. That is an understatement. That offer sheet was actually a really kind gesture by the Habs as we gladly signed Aho for what they were offering. A couple of years pass and we returned the favor, but really used the leverage of what an offer sheet is for. I think KK does well here. He'll be amongst his countrymen and has excellent coaching!
  13. I am not trying to summarily criticize them as they have only played in preseason games. I will make a factual statement that the offensive line has not looked good in the preseason, if you disagree with me there we just have a difference of opinion. Now, as you state we do have 2 first round talents and other O-Line veterans that will probably make up our offensive line and it's possible we haven't ran "our offense" that we will roll out in the regular season. I agree that our offensive line are not "road graders" and we will run a lot of misdirection and edge type plays where hopefully that is our strength. I will say that there will be situations when we do need to run up the middle and off tackle and our O-Line has not looked good in those areas. Further, pass protection has been questionable. I don't think my post condemned our O-Line and I am waiting until the regular season to see how things go. I am frustrated that we haven't made moves to secure known O-Line commodities and even "high" draft picks that could be the next great O-linesman. As far as two TE sets go, I am all for them but Arnold isn't known for his blocking (although I can't comment fully on his ability), Thomas is not a good blocking tight end, Tremble is a rookie and may be a good blocking TE but he hasn't played an entire season against NFL DE talent, Ricci is really a fullback so may be best suited to line up as a 2nd TE but we will have to show he is capable of being an offensive threat. Again, lots to be determined but don't take my post as a condemnation of our O-Line. Take it more as frustration that we possibly could have a better potential O-line.
  14. The Saints D is still formidable, and will give our line fits if we aren't prepared. I would also say that Saleh and the Jets D will also be a test for us with 2 weeks of preparation.
  15. I agree that I think the Panthers may show a lot of 2 TE sets, but that isn't going to help up the middle. Our interior needs some help, but I think you would agree we still went the route of piecemealing our O-line this year. We have to invest with draft choices and free agents who are known commodities not other team's average to garbage depth or a vet who is coming off of an injury with question marks.
  16. It looks like he is the prototypical West Coast offense QB, quick reads, get the ball out ASAP. With our O-line and the possibility Sam may get injured at some point this season he may see the field. I don't wish any Ls on the Panthers, but we have to do something to fix this O-line rather than patchwork, I don't care if we get the #1 draft pick and the best QB out of college....if our O-line continues to be an amalgam of average to below average linemen then we have nothing.
  17. I am not going to disagree that Cam carried that team on his back, but it was still the same Cam as the previous seasons. Cam always relied on his extraordinary athleticism and never really changed his mechanics as a QB. With all the pounding and abuse he took under Ron and Co. he was never going to do that forever and as we saw when the injuries started piling up Cam wasn't able to carry the team or any team with his freak athleticism any longer. He never "grew" into a prototypical NFL quarterback and his mechanics never fundamentally changed.....there was always reversion back to his natural instincts. This can be blamed on two things in my opinion: 1.) Cam was who he was and there was no way to really change what was ingrained in him over 20+ years and 2.) to be able to make that sort of change as a QB you have to have protection and time to gain confidence that the change being asked for is possible...he never had that! Personally I think it was a combo of the two. Are we going to see the same with Darnold? I think the answer lies in if we ever give him the protection and peace of mind that Cam never had. I think there's a better chance of a change with Darnold, but without a solid O-line he'll revert to running around slinging it trying to make plays.
  18. Cam isn't The Rock....I see Cam doing commercials, but I just don't think he's movie material. Maybe some supporting actor spots.
  19. Fromm has more upside than either Grier or PJ..... I wouldn't be surprised if Webb was better than both as well.
  20. I am sorry no news on either front, please accept a cold beer and put your feet up....it's going to be awhile.
