Even at 5M we are stretching ourselves a little. If we get the Dougie back from 18-20 then I'd do it. This Dougie I would only want to give 4M max.

We definitely got hit by the injury bug at a bad time and then had to play through a very physical series with Nashville. Nino and Tro kind of regressed to their baselines as the season wore down. Svech didn't take as big of a step up as I thought he would. Aho is a solid player who draws the opponents top checking line every night. TT was not as solid this year, probably due to his concussions. Necas I think made strides, but he has to get stronger. That battle with Maroon behind the net right before Tampa's 2nd goal put his relative strength on display. Staal had his best year with Carolina IMO. Marty, McGinn, Lorentz, Paquette, Geekie, Fast, Foegele are what they are: bottom 6. Ned surprised me and deserves a chance to be the starting goalie next season. Maybe Mrazek comes back if things break right, good luck to Reims. Slavin and Pesce are the heart of the D. Look forward to seeing them next year. Skjei had his moments, but he is second pairing at best. It would be nice to see him more confident on the puck more often. Hakanpaa is a solid D-Dman. He is a UFA, but if the price is right bring him back for the 3rd Pairing with Jake Bean who also needs to hit the weight room. I'll end on Dougie who had such good season for us his first two years here, but this year and into the playoffs I am just not sure what happened. Was it his injury? Was it contract talks? Was it just Dougie not being in shape and having the motivation needed? He won't be getting anywhere near $8M with us and I would be surprised if another team would give him that much. Off season should be interesting.

With the other saves Ned has made this season into the playoffs I would have thought he would have easily saved that one.

The simple solution was Kucherov was not eligible to play at all this season and Stamkos would be able to play after a certain amount of games in the playoffs. Instead, they get to play every game with the highest payroll in the NHL that exceeds the salary cap by multi millions. The NHL has rewarded the brilliance of Tampa's FO to cheat.

They are the darlings for sure, I mean it's obvious with how they were able to keep the team together by circumventing the salary cap. The only good thing about a possible loss here is that I hope I never have to hear this commentating team again for as long as I live. The PBP and "color" commentator suck major cajones.

Ned let up, we are very fortunate as all Stamkos did was throw that towards the net as hard as possible. In years past that would have been a typical goal the Canes would allow. The clock saved Ned's butt.

Some of our guys are really letting it rip, but then we have Skjei, Bean, TT all looking for cutesy azz passes. Put every damn puck on goal that you possibly can in the third and hope the Hockey Gods break our way.

Well said, RBA just doesn't pull his goalies when they are having a bad game. It may be his personal experience that it really just doesn't have any effect on what's going on during or after the bad game so he just says "let it ride." I am still fully behind RBA and this bunch of jerks and I think we have a great future. What I do have a problem with, and what other NHL teams and fan bases should and will have a problem with is once Tampa Bay beats them they will see how fugged over their team was being held to a Salary Cap that was non-existent for the Lightning. Fug the NHL and Tampa Bay to hell and back for that sheet.

Again, the whole NHL should give a big fug you to Bettman and the rest of the fools that allowed Tampa Bay to pull this bullsheet. Mrazek had a good game 3, but he was toast tonight......no help out front either and once that 3rd goal was allowed he was cooked. Rod has never really been one to pull the goalie so not surprising. Fugging refs involved in Canes' games need a good beat down for all the games except maybe 1 or 2. When the bias is this obvious I don't know what you can do except whack the damn puck at their heads and hope you connect. Just terrible...... Also, Canes haven't helped themselves at all. Abysmal PK, Svech taking legit penalties, I don't even know if we can call our PP a PP....so disorganized. Oh well let's see what Game 5 brings. Really need to take 1 game at a time. Again, fug the NHL for allowing the salary cap shenanigans of Tampa Bay.

Yeah just everything they have done salary wise this year reeks of using the circumstances to their advantage and the NHL allowing them to do it. They may go on to win the Cup, but I have no respect for them or the NHL for this crap.

A couple of things: Why the hell do we have the absolute worst announcers for our series? Seriously, they are atrocious and shouldn't be doing any kind of national broadcasting at all....I especially hate the female announcer she adds absolutely nothing to the telecast. I want the Canes to win this series (of course), but every team in the NHL should be mad as hell about how the Lightning circumvented the salary cap this season. If Kucherov didn't count during the regular season towards their cap then he shouldn't be able to play in the playoffs. It really isn't that hard to implement that..instead Tampa keeps him, stays under the cap because he is injured and out, yet somehow come playoff time he is allowed to play and the cap doesn't matter any longer. These are my grievances along with the Canes PK.

They have played hard, but there has been some moping....sad but true.

They have to...no other two ways about it. Bring it all, leave it all win or lose but no more of this moping around the ice. I've seen enough of it.....
