Agreed about any series vs. Boston, Pittsburgh or Tampa Bay with regard to the refs. I don't see it as much with the Leafs, but put into a potential series with them to go to the Cup Finals and the refs probably do tilt to Toronto. Basically the Canes need to leave no doubt about who is going to win by playing timid, passive aggressive hockey. If we go out there and play our game then the refs can't decide it....

I don't know, you may not like Barry Trotz's play style but that guy can coach. I wouldn't choose him over RBA, but I wouldn't be upset if he was the Canes coach.

I think Rhule and the "rookie" Panthers coaching staff probably did do things very differently during the "pandemic" season, I don't think that is lost on any of us. I will say that Teddy has been in the league since 2014 with the Vikings, Jets (short stay), New Orleans, and the Panthers. He has never shown the ability to get the ball downfield consistently via a deep throw, has plenty of tape where he's made poor red zone and 2 minute drill decisions, and the cherry on top for me is my lasting memory of him throwing a 5 yard pass on 4th and 11 or 12 in a late season game during a two minute drill. I don't care if the team NEVER practiced two minute drills, Teddy has been a Pro QB since 2014....does he really continue to lack the situational awareness to NOT throw a 5 yard dump pass in a 4th and long situation? Hell I've never played QB in organized football in my life, but if you put me out there and told me the situation you can be damn sure I am going to throw the ball FARTHER than the sticks in that situation whether I've had 2 minute drill practice or not. (I won't even go into detail on the missed red zone opportunities with DJ and his infamous QB "sneak" fumble of epic proportions) My point is, even with what he defines as a "lack of time spent on red zone and 2 minute drills in practice" Teddy continued to make poor choices that a real QB1 wouldn't make. He said he "wears big boy drawers," but his play makes it look like he had Underoos tailored for his grown ass.

I don't think RBA will let the guys take anything for granted. I'd like to see a better game Monday and then the Canes need to take it one game at a time and not look ahead. This team is capable of going far in the playoffs, but if they take anything for granted they can easily be sent home.....ask Tampa Bay.

Just watched the game and it was a fluster cuck. If Monday's game isn't better than this in ALL areas we should be concerned. You never want to go into the postseason on a bad note.....

He's a good player and a solid offensive D-man, but he saw our loaded roster and didn't want to compete, and of course the bright lights of NY are sooooo much better than Raleigh. I am sure RBA and DW didn't want a player who wanted to play elsewhere and was scared to compete.....

My RAS is at 1.36 now so Brown has me by a tenth or so. I think if he loses some weight and gets serious about being a pro he'll be another steal late in the draft, but he's got to make that decision for himself.

I'll let you do that leg work, but the Panthers have been fortunate with JJ and drafted the best LS coming out of college. Oh, and it only takes 1 bad snap from an LS to completely change the complexion of a game.

Kiper is a running joke these days, but the man made a terrific point about the Panthers picking up Darnold who even after his years with the Jets that he would have been the #2 QB in this draft slotted behind Lawrence...and McShay agreed with him. I give him credit for putting that out there and hope to all things holy he is right.

This guy comes from a good family and he's the spitting image of his uncle. I love this pick and think this kid will be a great addition to the team...I think he was WAY undervalued.

Dude, do you know how important a competent LS is? Long snapping is an art form and it isn't easy, try snapping a ball 13-15 yards on the mark with velocity knowing you are about to also have to block. A good LS is worth his weight as a STARTER.
