  1. I am glad we didn't sign him last year, we might have won the NFC South, been in the playoffs and could not have afforded to move up to # 1 in this years draft.
  2. I don't think that would happen because i feel that Stroud/Young will be more advanced in their game and ready to start than Fields was.
  3. We can always require him to wear a dark hair piece. LOL
  4. In the event the startinq QB is out for a spell, Andy Dalton is good enough to carry the team, within reason, until the starter returns.
  5. (" $10M for two years.") I am surprised the Panthers got such a god quality, back up QB at that reasonable of a price.
  6. I think the signing of Andy Dalton was a good deal because he is a capable starting quality player who can plug in if the first rd. pick isn't ready to start early in the season.
  7. This could be the year Sam Darnold puts it all together if he ever gets a chance to start for the 49ers.
  8. I would be ok with keeping Cam Erving on a cheap deal as a backup. However, if the Panthers can find someone better at near his cost, I could see them letting him go.
  9. Sadly, Like you I am pulling to Hubert Davis to work out but admit I am highly concerned about him lasting. Here's hoping my concerns are caused by being an over anxious fan and will turn out unfounded..
  10. Fitter is doing some serious negotiation. Now he he needs to find a WR that can be close to a D.J. Moore replacement because there may not be one that highly rated when the Panthers draft in the 2nd rd.
  11. It is great news hearing that Panthers center Bradley Bozeman, a key player is signed, keeping the entire offensive line intact.
  12. Sam Darnold was a good pickup by the 49ers. He has veteran experience and starter experience, but they aren't worried about that, with Purdy and Lance, all they are looking for is someone decent.
  13. I haven't checked on the available centers. Do you know if there is one available in free agency that is good as Bozeman?
  14. I wish him good luck, where ever he winds up.
  15. I liked Eddy Pineiro and wanted him to stay because he remained injury free and had a lot great kicks, excluding that bad one. He should have no trouble finding a team willing to give him a job.
  16. I can see where teams like younger players but getting rid of them just because they will turn 30 during their contract years can easily back fire. It would be interesting to know just many good players the Bengals have lost by sticking to that age 30 concept?
  17. Vonn Bell Signs Contract With Carolina Panthers By: Drew Crabtree, Editor | March 13, 2023 Vonn Bell, a seven-year veteran safety, and the Carolina Panthers have agreed to terms on a contract. Bell was a member of the Cincinnati Bengals secondary for the past three years. With the 61st pick of the 2016 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints selected Bell out of Ohio State. As a Buckeye, Bell helped lead Ohio State to a CFP National Championship with his play. The Saints saw his leadership abilities along with his hard-hitting and took a shot in the second round. As a rookie, Bell appeared in all 16 games, starting in 14. He finished second on the team with 87 tackles and added four pass breakups and two forced fumbles. In his second year, he appeared in every game again, but only started 10. Bell broke out by leading the much-improved defense with 83 tackles and added another two forced fumbles and 4.5 sacks. In his third year, Bell again appeared in every game but only started in half. Despite that, he finished with the second-most tackles on the team with 89 and added three pass breakups and a forced fumble. Heading into a contract year, Bell knew that he had to step up and he did just that. In 2019, Bell finished second again in tackles with 89 but finally notched his first-career interception in Week 11 in a win over Tampa Bay. He tallied five fumble recoveries, one of which was a scoop-and-score, and 1.5 sacks. The Bengals then signed bell to a three-year deal, establishing their identity on defense. In his first year in Cincinnati, Bell led the team with 114 tackles, a career-high, and also forced three fumbles along the way. In 2021, Bell was a massive piece in the Bengals Super Bowl LVI run. During the regular season, Bell finished with the second-mot tackles with 97, eight pass breakups, and an interception. In the playoffs, Bell continued his great play and was the recipient of an interception on the first drive of Overtime in the AFC Championship game which set up the game-winning field goal. Last year, Bell took a step back in terms of tackles by only recording 77. However, he set a career-high with four, including his first career two-interception game in Week 4 on Thursday Night against the Dolphins. He also forced a pair of fumbles, the second of which was a clutch strip of Rhamondre Stephenson which effectively secured the win for the Bengals. In his three-year career in Cincinnati, he only ever missed one game: Week 18 in 2021 where most of the Bengals veterans sat.
  18. Considering what these two players have brought to the Panthers I think it is important sign both D’Onta Foreman and Bradley Bozeman.
  19. DT Shy Tuttle, 27 yr. old, 6'3" 300 LB. Along with Derrick Brown (who is likely to play as a defensive end in the Panthers system), he gives them some more run stopping size up front, which is what they needed as they adjust their base defense. Tuttle grew up in Lexington, N.C., and starred at North Davidson High before going to Tennessee.
  20. That was very generous of Michael Jordon making a $10 million donation to Make-A-Wish, which was a large hunk of change.
  21. I hated the Panthers had to lose D.J. Moore but he was the premium for the Bears going down to No. 9, giving up the idea of the double trade and doing the deal early.
  22. Glad to see that Smitty agrees with the trade, much like most of us Panther fans.
